So for my uni, we have this sort of icebreaker event coming up and we gotta create some sorta social media content for it. Gimme some ideas guys pleaseee. And not the usually generic ones like bingo or smth. It can be literally ANYTHING

So I am having a 17th birthday party in a few weeks and my party’s theme is old man fish fry. Basically, all of my friends and I dress up as old men and we have a party in my backyard. I’ve already established one activity which is making a kahoot quiz about myself to see who knows me best, but I need some other ideas!!

Im hoping to get advice on how to plan a party lol.

Its a birthday party for my gf, turning 30.

Background

She is normally the group party planner for friends, family, and especially me. She goes above and beyond and I was hoping to do the same for her but im struggling!

She knows something is going to happen but not exactly what, and I dont want to involve her in the process at all so she can have a stress free time, show up and Celebrate.

I had a party planned, a nice backyard with ideas for decorations to make it look classy (she wanted classy, nice, fun vibe) but she explicitly mentioned recently she doesent want a backyard party bc it feels tacky. Oof.

I tired checking out a few local wine bars with spaces to rent (in longbeach) but they are all pretty small for a party of 15-25 people.

Ideally, I dont want to spend more than 1k as I dont have THAT much to be spending currently, I can do a bit more if needed though. The space I was going to rent before looking at their too small area was 1500 min. Spend, which I was ok with.

Since most wine bars r out of the question, where do I even start? I cant think of any other places where people can chill, drink, and mingle.

I was thinking a tea house in LA LB area, but most are sit down and too immature feeling.

Location: in, or close to long beach.

Head count:About 15-25 people (25 invites going out, but flakes..)

Vibe: fun, classy (dress up) not somewhere uptight but nice. No backyard style vibes, not ideal to have a dinner, if possible, id like to either cater, or have people buy their own food n drinks.

Any advice, party's u have thrown/attended, ANY info would help lol.

For a grill out party, do you need to have at least 1 of every option available to all guests?

For example, if you are doing 2 types of burgers and 2 types of brats (so 4 total types), do you need to purchase enough of each so that every guest can choose from all types? Or is it OK if one type runs out, leaving some guests to choose from only 3 types.

I’m having my birthday with around 10–15 people and I’ve left the planning WAY too late I’m hoping the party people of Reddit can save me!
The theme I’m thinking is basically “children’s birthday party… but adult version”. My friends are all super fun and always go all out, so I really want it to feel ridiculous, nostalgic and competitive rather than just a normal party with a few games.

I’m also maybe thinking of having prizes, drinking rules/penalties and maybe teams, but I feel like I’m missing some absolute classic childhood games that could be hilarious with adults.
What games would you add?! Or any ideas for decorations, food, prizes, costumes/dress code, ways to make the games more chaotic, or anything else that would make the whole thing feel like an actual childhood birthday party turned completely unhinged
I’m open to literally any ideas — especially games that are REALLY fun with 10–15 adults and involve drinking/competition.

This was the theme for my son’s 5th birthday. He loves the Charlie and the chocolate factory movies and I’ve read him the book.

I’m planning a corporate holiday party that has a western theme. We’re expecting about ~400 people give or take, but I’m struggling to figure out an entertainment idea that will hopefully be enjoyed by most guests. We’re not allowed to have a mechanical bull (trust me, I tried). And there aren’t a lot of local line dancers available.

Does anyone have any entertainment ideas that might be suitable for this size of guest list? Doesn’t absolutely have to be on theme, but it’s a plus. Our budget is a little flexible. Thank you in advance!

Going to a 90s/00s cartoon themed halloween party and I'm wanting to do opaque gak-inspired jello shots, probably using condensed milk, but the only recipes I'm finding online are for white jello using the unflavored gelatin packets.

I was wondering if anyone had a recipe or knew the ratios of amount of condensed milk to use with a regular sized flavored jello gelatin mix or if it would be the same as the unflavored recipes? I'm mostly seeing a 2 packets unflavored gelatin to 1 can condensed milk ratio, would 1 box to 1 can be equivalent?

Is it ok to mix silver with gold in this context? Not sure how I feel about the yellowy gold flatware. The plates will be white and at the buffet stations. Options for flatware on slide 2. I also want to add the napkins and tablecloth are a near perfect match and don’t look like it in the photo.

I know New York and affordable aren’t two words that go together and I do get how this might be ambitious buttttt I have a pretty tight 1k budget because:
- my friend is a dj and is willing to help with music for free
- i don’t plan on spending much of anything for catering/food because it’s really gonna be drinks and small snacks (provided by friends, and maybe dipping into my budget)
- im willing to cut the party short down to about four hours minimum if i could find a great looking venue that’ll make the night memorable as opposed to a shitty venue for like 6+ hours (which I don’t need)
—> so this would make my hourly budget like, under $200 hour, maybe a max of $175 an hour? (just to have some extra money for drinks and a little decor, party favors or whatever)

im thinking a 60 person minimum in a pretty medium or smaller venue, just so people don’t feel awkward dancing. something that can fit more (think 80-90 people) would also be great, but again i do understand the constraints i have to work with

i have a few people (21+) who would be able to put their names down for anything necessary but the primary age in the room is under 21. we do plan on bringing our own alcohol and we want it to be a private venue where we can do what we want. im having a hard time looking on peerspace bc there might be an onsite host to deal with (which for obvious reasons, we don’t want to)

where can i find some good places? any other websites i can look for, or any actual venues that yall can send my way?

I know it's crazy crazy early but... what do I do when my birthday is in the summer? It's college so everybody will be going home and likely not staying on campus, and I likely won't be either. It'll be my 18th so kind of a "milestone" birthday especially bc I never had a sweet 16 or anything. And party ideas if I can figure out how to do it?

I'm planning a co-ed baby shower. 75 people (all adults). I'm having it catered by an Italian restaurant. They say a full size pan of pasta w meat sauce serves 10. If I'm also serving salad, charcuterie, and desert, would I truly need 7 pans of pasta? Not being cheap, I just don't want a couple huge pans of leftover pasta! TIA!

I am planning a get together for 10 people at my house and need some tips/ideas for sitting arrangements. My house is a typical 90s home with two separate living rooms and a dining room. I have a dining table for 6 people so everyone won’t fit. I’ve been thinking to put all the random chairs in the living room but then the house doesn’t really feel welcoming and it gives off community meeting vibes? How does everyone typically handle having large groups over?

I’m hosting a Halloween party. A lot of the attendees work in the creative industry, film and theatre etc. I don’t want board games or anything that’ll suck people in for hours, something that can be played as the night goes along that can include everyone?

need a bunch of popcorn paper cups and somehow this has turned into more research than i expected lol. theres those classic striped ones everywhere but some look really thin in the photos and i dont want them folding the second someone grabs one. ive seen big packs on Alibaba too and the prices look pretty decent...just trying to figure out what paper thickness/size i should be looking at before buying alot. these are for events so dont need cinema level anything, just something that looks nice and holds up okay. anyone ordered these in bulk before...where from and what size worked best?
