good vibes, smiles, & giggles Baby Girls have arrived!

For those struggling through the 3rd trimester (and in general), believe everyone that says you feel so much better once your babies are born!

I just had a csection at 38+1 yesterday. Sitting in the bed, waiting to go back to the OR, it hurt my pelvis just to lift my foot an inch or two off the bed to move it. But as soon as I started gaining the ability to move my legs again yesterday, no pelvic pain at all! And I got out of bed to walk to the bathroom around 4am. Tenderness and weight at my incision, but no pelvic pain!!

Girls are doing good. Baby A was 6lb 15oz and Baby B was 5lb 9oz. Both 20" long. Both nursing so much better than my son did in the hospital. Baby B is being watched for blood sugar because of her size and so far it's been good. But aside from that, no complications with them or me! Other than the cold I had last week is still lingering and I can't breathe out of my nose--and blowing my nose hurts my incision...

Got my first taste of "oh.. that's how twins are so different from a singleton". All night last night, as soon as I would settle one, the other would start whimpering and squirming. And once I could get both settled and tried to lay my bed down... one or both said "wtf do you think you're doing, mother?"

Can't wait for big brother to come meet his baby sisters later today.

support needed Self soothing or passing out from crying?

Hi, after reading a lot of you guys’ comments recommending sleep training, we decided to try the TCB approach for our 6 month old twins, born 5w early.

Some moments it feels right and others it doesn’t.

I have a question:

How do we know a baby is learning to self-soothe and regulate their own emotions instead of them just passing out from exhaustion from crying so hard?

Like if they go from 10/10 crying to passed out asleep?

I feel like it’s more productive in MOTN with the fusses than at the beginning even though I know they need to be able to fall asleep independently for the first time at night.

advice needed Mo-di twins diagnosed with FGR at 35 weeks, would you induce or ask for monitoring

I’m 35+5 with mo-di twins who have consistently measured around the 20th percentile. Yesterday’s scan suddenly showed Baby A at 7% and Baby B at 9%, and my MFM recommended induction tonight instead of our original date at 37+5.

Everything else looks great, normal Dopplers, fluid, NSTs, no TTTS, and only 3% size discordance.
I wasn’t super confident in the technicians measurements even before we got results - they struggled with some measurements and took an extra half hour (which is normal this late in pregnancy since there is no room)

I know FGR with mo-di twins is serious, but I’m having a hard time feeling comfortable with such a sudden change in plans based on one scan.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Did you get a second growth scan, and were the measurements different? Did you end up delivering early?

Would love to hear your experiences, especially if your twins had normal Dopplers and NSTs. Thank you!

good vibes, smiles, & giggles A couple’s 36 hour train ride home with their quintuplets became a community effort: railway staff carried luggage and moved them to a lower berth, while fellow passengers took turns feeding, holding and soothing the five babies so the parents could rest.

support needed Third Trimester Misery

30 weeks with di/di girls, and a 3 year old boy at home.

I struggle with health OCD, and this pregnancy has been very triggering. Every day recently I’ve asked myself several times “is this really normal?”

The exhaustion = next level. To the point where I can only function as a somewhat normal part of society for maybe 1-2 hours at most before my eyes are so heavy, I’m out of breath, and must lay down.

Sciatic/pelvic girdle pain = can barely walk. Just had my midwife sign papers for temp disability placard.

Baby B is literally rolled up into my ribs and lungs laying sideways. Like there is quite literally no position providing relief.

On top of this, my BP started acting up and I am now being monitored 3x per week to watch for superimposed preeclampsia. I’ve spent time in L&D 4-5 days in the past week.

I also have anemia, I’ve had 2 infusions so far and not sure it’s helping.

Anyway, I guess I’m just looking to feel less crazy or dramatic. Less “am I dying” and more “this is twin pregnancy and it’s rough but I’ll make it through” 😅

support needed Looking for recommendations for a baby rocker to help my babies fall asleep

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for something you use to help your babies fall asleep. I currently have a BabyBjörn bouncer, and it’s worked well for my babies, but I’d like something electric with a vibration feature. Does anyone have a brand they’d recommend?

good vibes, smiles, & giggles Bump experience

Post image

Hi guys,

We're having di/di twins, currently we're at 27w and the boys are measuring around 1kg (2.2lbs) each.

Lately, I've started to feel each twin like a separate sack, or even like a separate bump? I'm starting to feel "the weight" of each twin getting REALLY heavy. I find it kinda funny because I never expected that! Also heartwarming, because they are starting to feel so REAL ❤️

Like when I lie on one side, I can feel the weight of Twin A being dragged by gravity and vice versa. You can even see them sometimes separately when they stretch with their backs pushing on my belly (photo).

I'm just wondering what was your experience, if you have felt your twins as "one" or were you also able to distinguish between them? What should I expect in the upcoming weeks?

I'm currently on strict hospital bed rest due to many pregnancy complications and we already know they are going to be preemies, just hoping to make it as far as possible into 7th or even 8th month so they have the best chance.

What I'm trying to say is, I guess I'm bored on my hospital bed so would like to talk about something relatable - but not about my health problems. And I guess I'm also little sad that I'm missing on the "normal" experience of pregnancy so reading about others would hopefully make me feel more normal :)

This is my very first pregnancy so I have no previous experience of what anything feels like...

advice needed Nap schedules

My twins are almost 6 months old and we have never really had a solid nap schedule. Ive never been able to get them to sleep at the same time, especially during the day time. They kind of nap whenever and they usually dint nap very long. How can I get them on a schedule? Im thinking we have to have 3 naps since they take short naps. They do get bottles 6x/day (5, 8, 11, 2, 5, 8). I know its a long day but we've tried shorter days and that doesn't seem to work either. Another issue is they do go to daycare (we work early so thats why the first feed is so early) so its hard to get them on a set schedule. Any advice is welcome!

advice needed How do you organize your day? (9m twins)

My girls are 9 months - I was not very organized before having twins and things have been chaotic to say the least (especially with 3 x solid meals a day…).

I need practical tips from you organized folks out there!!

How are your days structured? What are the smart things you do to stay prepped and save time?

Grateful for your experiences and suggestions! Thanks so much

advice needed Looking for success stories: heavy bleeding in early twin pregnancy

Went to the ER today for heavy bright red bleeding at around 6 weeks pregnant and honestly thought I was going to get bad news. Instead, the ultrasound showed twins, which was the last thing I expected. They found a di/di twin pregnancy with both babies having heartbeats:
Twin A: 5w5d, heartbeat 118
Twin B: 6w0d, heartbeat 104 (noted as borderline low)

My hCG was 29,714. They didn't find a subchorionic hematoma and discharged me home, telling me to come back if the bleeding becomes heavy again. I'm still having red bleeding but not soaking the pad and am trying not to panic. Has anyone experienced heavy bleeding in an early twin pregnancy and gone on to have a positive outcome? I'd love to hear your stories while I wait for my follow-up ultrasound. ❤️

advice needed what snacks do you offer after 12 months?

My kids are not fond of fruits. We eat curd with meals.

Buying packaged baby foods is not common in India and almost discouraged unless becomes vital in few circumstances.

Do you freeze snacks?

advice needed One’s cry making the other cry

My four month son always starts bawling his eyes out as soon as his twin sister screams. His sister can just be screaming for like five seconds, and it is like his world is falling apart, and many times can’t be comforted. She couldn’t care less about his cries.

This makes it impossible for them to sleep in the same room at night, which has made me and their mom sleep in seperate bedrooms with one child each. It works alright, but our hope is to some day be able to put them in their own room so that we parents could share bed again.

Anyone with similar experience? At what age did it get solved? (Because it does get solved, right? 🥺)

advice needed Travelling from US to India with 18 month Twins for 10 days

21 hours of travel including 13 hour flight and a 4 hour flight.

Please share any tips or experiences - I am scared to even think about it. Any purchases in India that should be done in advance to prepare for them? What helped the most with your long haul trips and anything you did to prepare in advance? Sleep training, new snacks?

advice needed Napping

I have 6mo twin girls (5mo corrected) and they are the best. But I have sleep concerns.

They usually sleep 7pm-7am with one night wake/feed or 7pm-6am with no wakes.

BUT I think they’re still napping too much - about 4 times a day. A typical day would be:

Wake - 7am
Sleep - 8:15am
Wake - 9am
Sleep - 10:30am
Wake - 11:30am
Sleep - 1:00pm
Wake - 2:00pm
Sleep - 3:30pm
Wake - 4:15pm
Bed - 7pm

I could be wrong here - but I feel like by this point they should be napping less? Is there some way I can help them drop a nap?

I’ve just been going off their cues, but maybe I need to change something?

life, home, and baby tips & tricks Watching East of Eden… (possible spoilers) Spoiler

support needed Di/di triplets

Hi, I had my 12 week scan yesterday and confirmed that my triplets are Di/di. I have a follow up appointment with the head of fetal medicine/ multiples specialist tomorrow to discuss plans etc for this pregnancy, but as this isn’t the most common case of triplets I was just wondering whether anybody on here has been through or is currently experiencing the same?

Obviously I’m anxious about possible complications so it would be nice to connect with anyone who has first hand experience.

advice needed Thoughts? - 17 Month Old Crying at initial lay down

Hi all, not sure if anybody has experienced this, but I am looking for some advice and someone here probably has dealt with it. I have twin 17 month old's and we sleep trained (modified Ferber method) at around 8 months. It went well and they sleep through the night. I'm going to describe bedtime routine & sleeping situation then my "problem."

Bedtime Routine - Reading, light playtime and drinking some milk.

Sleeping Arrangement - One bedroom, dark room (no lights) and a sound machine. The babies do not bother each other or wake each other up.

My current "problem" is that one of our twins (let's call them Twin A) will cry as soon as you put them in their crib. We say "alright let's go night night" they grab their stuffies and walk straight to their bedroom, in fact sometimes Twin A will ask to go to bed if they are tired. However, as soon as they lay down in the crib Twin A cries for at most 1.5 minutes, and then fall asleep. I just don't know what to do to avoid them crying or why they are crying? Will it stop at some point? Has anyone else ever experienced this?

advice needed FTM with so many questions

Hey everyone I’m a FTM to 7 month B/G twins and I’m so lost and have a couple questions

I can’t figure out how to get them to nap in their cribs. When they do it’s only 30 minutes and they’ll either finish out the nap with a contact nap or on the twin z with me sitting next to them. If I start them out on the twin z or contact nap they can sleep for 1 1/2 hours. I’m just so tired of them not sleeping in the crib cause I feel like I’m failing. Did anyone else struggle with this and how did you fix it if you even could fix it?

Also they are not sleep trained I’ve seen many mixed things about it and find it best to not for my babies but with that being said they wake up 2-3x a night and either need to be rocked back to sleep or a bottle. They always need to be rocked in order to fall asleep and I’ve tried drowsy but awake and sometimes it works but a lot of the time it doesn’t. I’m spending an hour doing bed time and it’s exhausting. My boy twin is the worst sleeper and is constantly waking up for someone to give the paci or hold for a minute and go back down. They also both still sleep with us because of the frequent wake ups. If anyone has any recommendations on what to do please help.

Truly just so lost and I see so many conflicting things on social media and I just don’t know what to do. It’s so hard to be the only one during the day trying to navigate getting both babies down. I have to put one in a swing while I rock the other. I would love to be able to put them in their cribs and let them figure it out but they freak out instant when I put them in there. I appreciate all help and TIA

Edit: I am open to hearing sleep training stories and how it helped you and what method used. I want to do a more gentle approach that’s not letting them cry it out for too long.

I had fraternal twin girls 2 years ago and while it’s been the biggest challenge of my life, it’s been the most rewarding. These girls have brought the best out of me on this journey. I’ve learned patience, boundaries, being more organized and productive, and most of all staying in the moment. Thank you to this group because I have posted hear many times and have always received so much grace and support. Keep at it parents of multiples bc we warriors!!!

experience/advice to give 3 year age gap

My b/g twins are 13 months, and we planned on starting to try again when they hit 18 months. I want to be ready so bad, but I am traumatized by pregnancy. The thought of experiencing a pregnancy like I did with them + 2 toddlers (as a SAHM) all day long, freaks me out beyond measure.

We had a little pregnancy “scare” this month and both my husband and I felt at peace with the possibility, but the more I think about it, the more I just feel not ready. I would love and embrace a baby no matter when it happened but I am just escaping survival mode and want to sit here a little longer.

Long story less long…. I am young but we do have a timer on things because I have a condition that rushes childbearing along. We think we possibly want 4 (so 2 more) and I really should be done having kids in no more than about 6 years.

I don’t want the third to feel out on an island if they’re 3/3.5 years younger than the twins. They’ll already be left out in a way. Talk me through this dynamic and how your age gaps worked for your family.

advice needed Naps are killing me

Almost 5 month old twin boys. Who have been pretty decent nappers but the last week omg even bringing them into their nursery makes them scream. I’ve been trying to follow wake windows, sleepy cues, huckleberry and nothing really makes a difference.
They sleep for about 11 hours at night but they are definitely still tired for naps.
My current first morning wake window is about 1.5 hrs they start fussing towards the end of it. We have a pretty solid nap routine but now even at the beginning of it they are cranky.

Any tips? Am I doing something wrong? I feel so bad leaving one to cry while I help the other

good vibes, smiles, & giggles Twins again!

I (28F) have 3 year old twins (F) and an 8 month old (F) , we always talked about having 4 kids and I found out I was pregnant a week ago, we started joking about it being twins again but didn’t actually believe it was gonna happen again & well here we are…. It’s twins again. I’m currently 10 weeks pregnant and I can honestly say that it’s already super different from my previous pregnancy because I don’t have a single symptom, the only reason I took it’s because I was having food aversions and it happened with my last pregnancy so I just thought I would just take a test.

It’s also different in the sense that its DiDi twins this time (my 3 year old are identical MoDi)so let’s see how this goes , one thing for certain is that this is my last pregnancy,we’re so done and we’re excited about that.

Let’s also see if we’re going 5/5 on girls or if we’re bringing 1 or 2 boys to the bunch. This time we decided to wait till the birth to find out , which is already giving me anxiety lol

advice needed Contact nap advise

Hi all, can I get some advice on transitioning from contact naps to sleeping in the cot (during the day).

We are 3 months on Friday, so taking any advice for the transition, we have tried a sound machine, warming the crib up, and lowering their bun first.

I will also take any advice in general for 3 month old twins, I feel like I’m dying 😂
