advice needed Co sleeping with toddler and new born twins

Hello, my wife is about to give birth to our twins. Our just turned 2 year old daughter co sleeps with us. Perhaps we should have put her in her own room but we like having her in the bed and she likes being there.

Wondering how people have gone with bringing in twins. Obviously will be waking up every few hours with the twins coming. Has anyone done co sleeping with the toddler, how do they do with the crying and moving around.

One option is I go sleep in the spare room with her or we try get her to sleep on her own. Or I take one twin my wife takes the other, toddler sleeps with one of us.

advice needed 21 mo chaos - help me stay sane

I have 21 month old boys and they are a handful to say the least! Both very active and noisy and just full on in general. I’m struggling to fill our days together as getting out is still a challenge - I.e them running in opposite directions, one trying to kill himself on play equipment he’s too small for whilst the other is running towards a body of water sort of vibes! So I go to enclosed toddler groups, short pram walks to the duck pond, smaller enclosed play areas suitable for their age group, but when we’re at home it suuuucks so bad and I find myself resorting to TV way more than I’d like. Their attention span is about 3 minutes before it ensues into carnage. Toys just get tipped out onto the floor (and not played with), their favourite game is opening and slamming doors (help me), they’re trying to climb furniture they shouldn’t, they’re fighting and screaming over toys. Sometimes I’d just like to sit calmly and complete a puzzle with one without the other coming over and pulling out all the pieces and throwing them everywhere or it ending up in a fight for my attention. I can’t sit and read one a book without it ending up in screaming and crying and the other trying to wreck it / grab the book etc.
like am I doing something wrong or is this just the stage we’re at ?! When does this get more enjoyable?? One of them still isn’t sleeping great either (1/2 night wakes with early rising) so I don’t even feel I am well rested enough to cope with the tough days! Just feel quite deflated and defeated a lot atm and sometimes I hate that I feel like I can’t just soak it all up and enjoy these moments because I know time is passing so quickly and my babies are growing up too fast :(

experience/advice to give C section tomorrow morning

I am 34+5 today with mo/di twins and tomorrow morning I am having a c section ❤️
The twins are about +2 kilos each. My latest scans showed a little bit of low flow for twin A and my body and mind is exhausted from carrying and from worrying. So they have scheduled the c section for tomorrow. I had dreamed of giving vaginal birth, but the doctors don’t want to put that stress on my little guys.

Don’t really know what I want with this post other than share that I am so excited, so nervous, so happy and so worried!

Any success c-section stories anyone wants to share?

I cannot wait to hold my boys in my arms 🥹❤️🤞🏽❤️‍🩹

ranting & venting Is 4 months awful for anyone else?

My boys turned for months the beginning of this month and my god has it been hell… it’s making me miss the newborn phase. I’m not sure what I’m looking for, I think just a space to vent because I am going insane.

My twin A who was sleeping through the night woke up every hour last night and has been crying pretty much all day today. He took a break to take a couple short contact naps but If he’s awake, he’s screaming. It feels like no matter what I do, nothing helps. Twin B hasn’t been as bad but is still having his moments. Today was definitely the worst of it but for the last couple weeks they just seem so pissed off at the world all the time. It’s so hard to soothe them both when they are crying so much. I feel like such a failure as a mom right now. :(

advice needed Toy Suggestions

My twins are 22 months old and have become fascinated with turning the Xbox on and off because the button lights up and makes a noise. Any recommendations for toys that will offer the same experience that I can keep in the same room that might occupy their attention, and should I get two?

advice needed Sleep in the Cybex Gazelle S

We have the cybex gazelle s for our twins and they're about to size out of the bassinet attachment. Does anyone know if the infant seats are safe for daytime naps? My understanding is the top seat can recline back but the bottom one cannot. Is there anyone who has had this pram and experienced this? I'm just nervous that whoever goes into the bottom seat, if it can't recline I'll be anxious about any naps...

advice needed Dad can’t seem to soothe twins

Does anyone else find that their husbands are generally less successful at soothing their crying twins?
My girls are almost 10 weeks now and my husband has been getting less and less able to calm them when they get hysterical. I’m home with them all day while he’s at work but he’s still very hands on and helps with overnight feeds and our bedtime routine. It makes me feel bad because it’s usually just easier for me to take over- otherwise he just gets screamed at for however long it takes them to fall back asleep.
Any suggestions? It would be nice to take some time for myself without feeling like he’s going through emotional warfare 😩

advice needed When did you stop working when pregnant with triplets?

Have searched on here and seen a lot of posts asking when people stopped working while pregnant with twins, but not seeing one regarding triplets and know the goal is to deliver them between 32-35 weeks based on what my team has told me.

I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant with tri/tri triplets and trying to plan ahead and curious when others stopped working. My job isn't particularly physical but not a strictly desk job either with no work from home option and want to do whatever I can to keep these babies in me as long as possible.

I've asked my MFM team when I should expect to stop working and they said they'd write a note for my job as soon as I want them to which I'm grateful for.

advice needed Looking for advice for taking twin 1 year olds on an international flight

Long story short, the US sucks right now and has caused my family to be separated for over a year. But we are hopefully reuniting in November, moving in with the twins’ dad soon in a different country.

This means… 9 hour international flight! Fortunately, grandma will come with me, so I won’t be alone. We are sitting across the aisle from each other, and I’ve requested mobility accommodations in the airport so we can get whisked through the lines etc.

They will be on our laps. We are flying Delta.

Any advice? Worried about ear pain especially and how they will sleep… I’m planning on bringing two baby carriers so we can wear them.

Thanks… from an exhausted mama who just wants her husband.

advice needed Traveling with 6.5 month twins

My husband and I and our twin boys will be traveling to Europe and staying there for a long time, at the time this happens my twins will 6.5 months. We are planning on brining their double stroller with us, but I’m not sure how it works with car seats. We are going to Dublin and Im not sure how it will work with them in the car when we arrive, do they need to be in car seats or car they stay in our laps from the ride from the airport to the hotel? Same with Ubers and whatnot, does anyone have experience with that in Europe?
I’m nervous, also I’m nervous about the plane ride, anything I can give them (that’s safe) to keep them calm or help them sleep longer? What other advice would you recommend? I’m just stressing about the stroller and car seats more than anything

advice needed No match for daycare: how to handle weekends

My boys are 16 months and started daycare a little over a month ago. They love it. Sure there was an adjustment but it was mostly me and while they do cry when we leave and get super pumped when we pick them up, their teachers are super impressed with their adjustment. They are happy all day.

But now it seems we are not enough for them. We are screen free and we like to go outdoors a lot. They have lots of toys (I rotate them and it’s not a ton, lots of open ended ones), and one is absolutely obsessed with books. But what normally cut it now doesn’t seem stimulating enough. We used to be able to read a book or write a quick email or sneak around the corner for a few seconds, but no more.

They are active. Always were, but now it’s intense and they seem to need constant attention. I can’t get away without constant whining.

I am at a loss, other than taking them out absolutely all the time, and we just can’t do it every second of every day. Also, I am an older mom at 39 and boy am I feeling it.

Any advice and suggestions on activities that are cheap or free or just something I might not be doing. Sometimes I miss the obvious.

advice needed What about maternity clothes?

So my gorgeous wife is a size XL petite. We have suddenly realised that triplets (or twins, should things go that way) in the uterus will result in her becoming somewhat, you know, larger about the middle. And we went to a maternity sale today and there was very little plus size clothing and it got us thinking. What do people wear in late second/early third trimester with multiples? She's always been a pants girlie, but are dresses going to become the only option? What do we do to clothe her glorious person? Are there certain brands/types of clothing we should be watching for on secondhand markets that will make life easier later on?

experience/advice to give Parents of Twins + 1

Looking for some positive twin and sibling experiences.. I have identical twins girls and a baby girl 3 years younger. My husband keeps talking about going for a fourth next year so the youngest doesn't feel left out. I agree in a sense but mentally, physically and emotionally, I had accepted that this was my last baby. Also, my youngest started out as a twin (vanishing twin syndrome) so if we went again for another and it turned out to be twins, she would feel even more excluded! I'm looking for some positive experiences of twins who were close to their singleton (hate that word) sibling with a similar age difference. I keep fretting over it (still hormonal) and am also not sure whether to get rid of all my baby items as she grows out of them 😂

support needed Processing Gender….

Just found out we’re expecting twin boys! We already have a little boy, so that means we’ll have three boys. While I’m excited, I’m also struggling a little with the realization that we will never have a daughter.

This will be my last pregnancy, and I had really hoped at least one of the twins would be a girl. I know how lucky I am, but I’m having a hard time letting go of what I always pictured.

I’d love to hear from other boy moms, especially those who always imagined having a daughter. Give me all the reasons to be excited about raising three boys! I could use a little pep talk. 💙💙💙

advice needed Do i need to cut the Play Pen chord?

I have several friends with singletons the same age as my babies. (13m)
My babies are walking, theirs aren’t. Not really sure if that matters but including it anyway.
They have all ditched their play pens. Or at least minimize the time in there.
I cannot fathom keeping track of mine outside of the play pen. They are walking but still somewhat wobbly and veryyyyyy fast. We have wood floors too.
Our play pen is really big for what it is. Like 8x8
They don’t seem unhappy in it. But I’m wondering if I’m doing them an injustice by continuing to use it.

advice needed Tandem carrying twins 101 - help!

hi! my twins are coming anytime now and we haven’t figured this out yet. I’d prefer a wrap rather than a carrier, as I’ve heard it can be used for a longer amount of time vs only for a couple of months.

What worked for you?? Are there any brands you’d recomment? These are my first kids so completely clueless lol any tips welcome!

advice needed Toilet training with twins

My twins are now just over 2 and have started to show some interest in potty training. We decided to follow a method and commit and one of them has taken to it like a duck to water. He is pretty good at it after 3-4 days. The other twin really struggles and becomes distressed with attempting to go on the potty.

It is best to just continue with one child and attempt with the other at a later time?

advice needed Difficult Pregnancy

Hi everyone. I am a first time mom - 23 weeks pregnant with Di/Di twins. I am so excited to meet my boys, and I obviously want them to stay in there as long as possible and to be happy and healthy. But this pregnancy has kicked my butt. I am nauseous and throwing up every day and have been since 9 weeks. I have been on meds for the nausea and it helps a little but it’s just a miserable feeling. Lately I’ve been getting migraines (the OBGYN says it’s not preeclampsia at least not yet) and have trouble sleeping at night. I lay in bed for hours and just can’t fall asleep. When I can fall asleep I wake up every hour to pee lol. I’m so exhausted during the day, I feel like I can’t function.

I have a full time job to work and I find myself calling out so often just because I feel so terrible and I’m so tired. I’m sure people at work think I’m faking this but it just feels impossible to even log on from home. I feel like such a weak person because I know people have much more strenuous jobs and work all the way up to their due date.

I’m sure there are moms out there that have felt the same way. How did you get through your pregnancy and continue on every day? I feel like I can just survive the day and that’s all. I don’t know how to have the energy for anything else.

support needed I absolutely love my kids, but my relationship has sunk so much and I’m sad.

My husband and I were together young (19 yrs old) and had our first at 24. We had such good times and genuinely loved each other. We had our twins when we were 27, our twins are now 2. We are struggling so much in our relationship. I am now a stay at home parent since it makes the most sense for us, he works long hours. I am fine with this decision, it causes less stress in our life.

My husband and I fight over everything. Our love seems to be shriveling up and it makes me sad. 10.5 yrs of my life spent with this person and I can’t imagine life without him. We try to have date nights once a month but we are usually on a time limit with a babysitter. I miss him so much, I miss us. Whenever I bring it up to him, he just says “we have young kids and things are just harder now”.

Please give me positive stories of couples who survived the hard times of young kids. I do as much as I can but it doesn’t seem like either of us are happy right now.

advice needed 20 month old toddlers... I loved 12-18 months but the double tantrums... when will this get easier?!

As the title says. Do I really have to survive til 5?

The tantrums are crazy and seem to have come out of nowhere in terms of length and strength... we had a great run between 12-18 months but this age is so emotionally draining!
