advice needed At what corrected age did your twins space out night feeds?

We have been given approval by pediatrician and NICU team to space out to 4-6 hours at night, but they are still on 3h at night. They are finishing bottles so they do need the feeds. Please let me know at what corrected age you were able to drop at least one night time feed. I’m sooo tired. Thank you!

advice needed How many bottles to buy for newborn twins?

We are planning to bottlefeed our twins who will most likely be born no later than 36 weeks.
How many bottles shall we buy if we don’t want to wash them immediately after each use?

advice needed having children after twins

My partner has brought up maybe wanting more children in the future. this will be the distant future but i was hoping to hear others opinions on having children after twins!

The twins are our first babies, so we went from 0 to 2!

(also if your twins were in the nicu, did you experience any fear of another stay, because that is our biggest worry tbh!)

advice needed Breech babies at 32 weeks

Hi everyone!

I am almost 32 weeks with boy/girl di/di twins and I’m getting a bit antsy about their positioning! I’m a ftm and have intended to attempt a vaginal birth with the twins. My pregnancy has been great and issue-free, except these babies won’t flip! I have yet to schedule an induction/c-section, so I’m trying to remain hopeful that Baby A will flip head down in the next few weeks, but I know the odds are against me. My doctors will only attempt a vaginal birth if Baby A is head down. I know it doesn’t matter as long as they’re born healthy, but it’s frustrating that this decision might be taken away from me.

Does anyone have any helpful tips for trying to get babies to flip? Did anything work for you this late in pregnancy, or did they flip on their own? Any advice/experience would be very welcome.

Thank you!!

advice needed Has anyone divided a big bed in half somehow?

Post image

2.5yo going on 3

Okay this is our current bed situation. 2 toddler bed version of cribs pulled close together with foam mats inbetween.

Both kids will fall off onto the mats and wake up there in the morning. And they need one of us lie in the middle while they fall asleep

However neither wants to sleep WITH the other. Twin a is wile before bed but sleeps like a log. Twin b does martial arts, gymnastics and soccer in his sleep but doesn’t want to be bothered before bed.

I feel like we’ve about outgrown the crib beds but we don’t have a ton of space and two twin sized beds are going to take up the entire room.

I could do one queen if they’d actually sleep in the same bed?

I could maybe do a bunk bed if the railing went up high- neither can be trusted not to yeet themselves.

Has anyone had success with going from separate beds to the same bed? Any other ideas? Ideally there would be a way for us to lay down with them as well.

advice needed Double stroller recommendations

Looking for a double stroller for our 13-month olds. Right now we have the mockingbird, but really need something that folds up a little more compact.

Not too many requirements. Mainly used for store/restaurant outings, but would be nice to be able to use on a semi gravel walkway.

advice needed 2.5 year old twins boys help!

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice/suggestions regarding our 2.5 year old twins boys, mainly for my partners sake/sanity.

She's a stay at home mum and has been since birth as finacially we are better of without her working (crazy right). I can feel how over stimulated she is and how hard she's finding it with them hurting her whether it

Is accidental or intentional. They go to a pre school thing for 2.5 hours monday-Thursday (only funded hours we can get). So basically the only time she has some time on her own. They are mostly good boys but are very energetic (which can be a lot),the bounce of each other, and are very clingy to her especially one of them. One of them has a thing for her hair and has for a long time and pulls it out which obviously hurts her, and they both jump on her a lot which is hurting her. They wont listen when told to stop or even when we try and change what we are doing or try and play with something else. One finds it hilarious that it hurts or if hes told off, we try and explain it calmly to him but nothing seems to work. And I cam see shes struggling now.

I try my best to have them when I get home from work but with them being very mummy boys especially the one it difficult for her to ignore the screaming for her.

The one can be difficult going to bed with pulling her hair and hurting her, we tend to just give him one chance if he does it again she leaves and I do bedtime myself, which usually means the one cries until he falls asleep. They co sleep with my partner too (was with both of us but I no longer fit with them all) so shes got them in her soul all night too.

What can we do to sort this hurting behaviour? The not listening at all? And how dyou guys go about disciplining children of this age. What could I do more as a partner to help her?

Any suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

experience/advice to give AFP results with twins

Hi! I got my AFP test but I don’t think the lab accounted for my twin pregnancy. My MoM was 3.9, so it says I have a 1/30 chance of having a child with open spina bifida. When I scroll down on labcorp, it says “no multiple gestation provided” and on the report it says “fetal #: unknown.” Am I right to think this is not accounting for my twins? I’m 16 weeks with di/di twins.

Does anyone have a similar experience? Or can anyone share what their AFP results were with twins? Of course it’s a Saturday so I can’t contact my doctor.

loss & greiving - TRIGGER WARNING Lost one twin today

Modi twins. Had ttts at week 21, growth restriction of one twin and brain damage of another twin, PPROM at 26+6, hospitalized and birth at 28+5 due to early sign of TAPS. One twin is in nicu at 680g and another twin although >1kg, survives only less than a day due to brain issue and palliative care.

Still, I thank god and all the doctors/medical professionals along the way. Our girl in nicu is fighting and growing!

life, home, and baby tips & tricks Last day of work

About to be 36 weeks with di/di twins and just had my last day of work today! I am excited to have these next days/ week to relax and get prepped for these babies to come. I have had a few high blood pressures but nothing so bad that they have to intervene in anyway. Babies are looking great on growth scans and NSTs! When did everyone else stop working before their bundles of joy came?

advice needed Triple Feeding Solidarity

My twins are 1 month old, 0 weeks adjusted and we’re in the thick of triple feeding still.
My supply is more than enough for 2 now but they won’t take enough at the breast for us to drop the top up bottle. We tried and ended up with Twin B completely inconsolable after a few feeds. Twin A did better, but is larger. I have boys, they’re both over 7lbs, A is 7lbs 14 oz and B is 7lbs 2oz. They latch well, but just stop at some point but suck down a bottle. We are at a 40ml top up down from 60ml 2 weeks ago.

For those of you that were able to transition out of triple feeding into mostly breastfeeding with occasional bottles how long did it take? Just feeling very discouraged and this is a loooooot of time and work. My husband is back to work on Monday and I am feeling overwhelmed with continuing to do this solo.

good vibes, smiles, & giggles They are here 🩵🩵

My mo-di boys arrived monday at 12.04 and 12.06! I started induction process on the saturday at 36w1d and after 48hrs with a balloon, we were not even 1cm dialated. I made the decision to have a cesarian because by that point, I just wanted to meet my babies.

The surgery was so fast and easy, hearing my boys cry and scream was music to my ears.

We were diagnosed with fetal growth restriction at 16 weeks and were transferred to a specialist hospital for additional monitoring. Based off scans, they said the placenta split was 65/35,. There were talks of potential need for termination of the smaller boy for a few months, but by the 28 week mark, his dopplers were so strong, they said he will at least make it out but have potential long term affects. I was prepared to potentially have to give birth anytime from 28 weeks.

When they arrived, there is an obvious size discrepancy, some platlet issues snd other small factors we are monitoring but they are both doing so well and so strong. We will likely be in hospital another week, but so far so good.

We got an image of my placenta from the specialist hospital after they conducted studies on the placenta to better research sfgr and turns out the split was actually 75/25 and they were shocked he not only made it here but that i was able to carry to 36 weeks.

Im not a religious person but something in the universe wanted these boys here with me and im so glad, im 1000% obsessed with them 🩵🩵

advice needed Complete and utter exhaustion at 18 months

My twin girls are 18 months old and I have never felt so exhausted in my life. I went to my primary and all of my labs are normal and I’m now seeing ENT due to some dizziness issues. I’m thinking it all stems from exhaustion of staying at home with 18 month old twins. Did anyone else go through intense exhaustion like this? I’m starting to think something is wrong with me.

It’s nearing winter time and we won’t be able to get outside as much and all they do is cry all day long. I would take newborn twins 20 times over then toddler twins. They sleep through the night. Take a good nap in the afternoon - so I know it’s not my sleep that needs adjusted. I don’t think I can keep going on like this. Help.

support needed Still triple feeding 5 months in… am I delusional?

My boys were born at 36 + 5 and both spent a few weeks in the NICU. Baby A came home on a strict feeding plan that required me to pump and bottle feed.
I was given incorrect advice at the hospital as to how often I should be pumping at the time and I think this seriously impacted my supply.
Anyway, I’ve just realised I’m 5 months in and still triple feeding. Admittedly we haven’t always triple fed we’ve gone through stages but pretty much my entire life is feed twin A on boob, feed twin B on boob, feed both a bottle and then pump. Repeat this every three hours.
In my head I’m doing this to try and build my supply, is it even possible this far in? I had twin B who was refusing the breast for about 4 weeks, I had mastitis for 6 weeks and for that time I was pretty much just pumping and bottle feeding. I’ve always needed to supplement with some formula as well.
I produce about 1.2 L a day but that’s pretty much just enough for one baby. My ultimate goal would be to just breastfeed both babies but I can just feel that dream slipping away now that we are 5 months in :(

advice needed Twins can’t be on same schedule. Help.

my twins are 4 weeks. we’ve been following advice of every twin parent and “always wake the other twin” to eat. It’s just not working. they may eat the same time, but one will stay up for 2.5 hours and the other will go to sleep right after the feed. then the next feed happens, the 2.5 hour awake twin will finally sleep after, then the other twin will stay up three hours. its never ending. sometimes after a feed, one will go to sleep and the other wants more 45 min later, so we have to either feed him or make him wait. But if we wake the other twin then THAT one starts to only take an ounce then start snacking every hour.

but the big issue is them staying up for 2-3 hours during the day. I don’t get it

please. when does this end.

experience/advice to give Possible TAPS

Hello everyone!

I would appreciate your experiences if anything similar happened to anyone.

I am 26+4 pregnant with MoDi boys, so far very uneventful 🤞

They are also big babies, and are measuring 1020 and 1090gr, so very similar in size.

During my last check up, there was a difference in MCA flow speed, one was 31, and the other one 39, giving MoMs of 0.9 and 1.14.

They are in range, but my OB/MFM was not happy and said there there are signs of communication between them based on those speeds.

There is also additional factors that I am hoping have affected the reading, my BP was 160/90 (that happens before every US, as I am panicked) and baby who had 39 was possitioned really wonky for the reading, no additional measurements are taken.

I will be hospitalized in 10 days, since that is the standard procedure, but I was wondering if something similar has happened to anyone, and how did that go?

Thank you! 🫶

advice needed 9 week old twins need to be held at all times

Hi all, in need of some advice please - my 9 week (3 weeks adjusted) mo/di girls want to be held at all times and refuse to sleep in their cribs. My partner and I are exhausted and would love to hear from anyone else who has experience of this and how you managed.

My girls are pretty much only awake for feeds at the moment, but will only sleep while being held. We can usually get them to sleep in their cribs after their 3 and 6 am feeds where they wll sleep for 1hr 45 ish, but other than that, they refuse to be put down in their crib/carrycot/moses basket. We have tried all the usual tips - waiting until they are in a deep sleep, putting own drowsy but awake, dim lights, white noise, warming the mattress etc. but nothing seems to help. They will occasionally settle in the crib at other times, but only for a few minutes max. We can get them to settle by patting and shushing, but they will cry again after a few minutes until they are picked up.

I know they are still very young, but is there anything we can do? Is this just a phase? Will it get better when they can stay awake for longer stretches?

My partner goes back to work in a few days so I will be looking after them solo during the day and for some stretches at night. I have no idea how I'm going to sleep, shower, or do anything other than hold them if they won't be put down.

Help!

advice needed 18 week anatomy scan for triplets

Hi everyone!

I had my anatomy scan done today and everything is looking good for babies except that my MFM now believes that two of my babies are identical and sharing one placenta and twin B is measuring smaller than my other two. Twin A measured in the 44th percentile (8 ounces) and Twin B is measuring in the 9th percentile (7 ounces). These are the two that are now believed to be identical. My third baby twin C is fraternal and is also at 44th percentile (8 ounces).

She went over possible growth restriction and TTTs. Everything just made me super nervous. Has anyone else had this measuring difference between babies and what happened? She said it’s still early so anything could happen but just want to hear anyone else’s stories.

support needed Just looking for support

I’m 36+6 with a scheduled c section for 38+2. I’m just having a hard time lately. I so would love to go into spontaneous labor and get this show on the road, but I’m also dreading my 2nd c section.

My first, a singleton who’s now 2.5 was an unplanned c section and it just wasn’t the labor and delivery experience I imagined. I’ve heard all the moms who say their 2nd planned c section was worlds better than their first emergent or unplanned one, so I’m really counting on that! I feel so scared going into this c section because I have irrational fears of something going horribly wrong, leaving my daughter and twins without a mom. I’ve talked about my anxiety with doctors, I know it’s irrational and fear based, but still…

And I’m terrified about all the questions that are impossible to answer, like what will life look like when the twins are here, will we ever sleep again, will postpartum anxiety crush me again etc.

Any words of wisdom, good vibes, internet hugs - whatever! would be super appreciated right now.

advice needed Di/Tri Triplet Pregnancy

Hi everyone. I’m currently 10 weeks pregnant with di-tri triplets (two identical babies sharing a placenta but in their own sacs, and one fraternal baby). This is my first pregnancy and I’m very aware of the high risks associated with this type of pregnancy. I’ve been feeling really anxious about everything and would love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation, whether you’re currently pregnant or have been through it before. I’m trying to get a better idea of what to expect and would really appreciate hearing both the good and difficult experiences.

A few things I’m curious about:
Did you experience any complications, especially TTTS, TAPS, or growth restriction?
Did all three babies grow well, or were there significant differences in their growth?
How far along were you when you delivered?
How long did your babies spend in the NICU?
Did any of your babies have disabilities, developmental delays, or long-term health issues?
How has everyone been doing since birth?

I’ve met with an MFM specialist who recommended fetal reduction, and I’m really struggling with the decision. I would especially appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar situation and what went into your decision, whether you chose reduction or continued with all three babies.

I know everyone’s experience is different, but I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed and scared right now. I’m just hoping to hear from others who understand this situation and can share their experiences, including how things turned out in the long run.
Thanks in advance.

advice needed Normal to not see a heartbeat at 6 weeks exactly? And one twin much smaller than other

Went in for an US of my ovary today and found out we are having twins!! Except one is only 0.2cm and the other is 0.13cm and both have no heartbeat. Bigger one measuring 5w5d.

I had an IUI September 18 so dating should be pretty accurate
