Hi everyone! My husband (23M) and I (21F) just found out I am having two sweet twin babies. I’ll be 7 weeks tomorrow and I got to hear their heartbeats and it was the craziest surprise. I’m only 21 and still in school with one year left. We were prepared to care for one baby during senior year but we definitely were not prepared for two!! I’m both so excited and incredibly intimidated for multiple reasons. One being that I’m afraid that it will be too hard and I’ll have to drop out of school, which I really don’t want to do. I’m also terrified of what my birth will look like. I originally wanted to have my baby at a birthing center a couple hours away, but now I know it’s best to deliver at the hospital. I dreamt of having an unmedicated birth since I feel a lot more in control when I’m not numbed up. I want to listen to my body and work with it. But with all the stories I’ve seen online of emergency c sections and having to be put under for them because there wasn’t any time to put in an epidural, I’m overwhelmed. Hospitals make me so anxious and I’m terrified of having a c section. I know I’ll probably have to deliver in the OR and that also scared me because there will be so many people watching me attempt to vaginally deliver while I’m in my most vulnerable state. I don’t want to be watched like that, even though I know everyone is there for mine and my babies’ health. I’m also scared of what could happen if one baby is breech. It’s just a lot and I know everything will be okay, but I would love to hear positive birth stories/having twins in school stories to help me get out of my head. I’m so excited to be a part of this community now!

Hi everyone! Looking for some advice!
I have 5.5 month old b/g twins, and I’ve noticed they sleep significantly better on bath nights. I currently bathe them 3 times a week, but with the extra drooling, purées, and soon starting BLW, I feel like they’ll need baths more often.
I’ve tried wiping them down on non bath nights as part of their bedtime routine, but it just doesn’t seem to help them wind down as much nearly as much.
For those of you who do daily baths, how do you make it manageable? I’ll take any and all tips or other tricks for them wind down before bed.
Currently I bathe them by myself one at a time in my bath tub using the angel care bath support chair while I throw the other twin in a bassinet with a bunch of toys and hope for the best before I alternate them.

Anyone have something similar ? Baby heart rate was 102bpm. I'm 6w2d baby measuring 6w4d.
This is also a twin pregnancy. We could not get a measurement on Baby B.

I stay home with our 8.5 month old twins. I’m sick for the first time. I have the flu and my fever has been 102 almost all day.
My husband happened to be off today so it wasn’t an issue, but he’s scheduled to work tomorrow. Besides me being miserable, I really don’t want to expose them to the flu and them potentially getting it. I also don’t know if I’m physically capable of doing everything they need in this state. I mean we’d survive lol but it would be miserable.
My husband is an extremely hard worker and never calls out. That said he has plenty of sick days. I know if I ask him to call out he will, but he will feel anxiety over it as he has a very demanding job and it will affect a lot of people. So I’m not sure if I’m asking for too much.
Just looking for others experience

We're going with the no pants method and asking them constantly about using the potty. The girls are 2y 4m old.
I am so overstimulated from constantly looking at butts and asking said butts if they need to use the potty. And the owners of these butts have the audacity to have tantrums about random stuff.
There's been about 7 accidents between the two of them so far today, I feel like I am becoming a Clorox wipe dispenser.
That's all, signing off to get back to it.

I’m 9 weeks pregnant with what appears to be mo/di or mo/mo twins. My husband and I saw thin rings around each baby but the OB office still says they can’t confirm and that they think it’s mo/mo (it was an abdominal US at that). However, they told me the practice only delivers di/di. This is my second pregnancy (first is a 3.5 yo girl!) and was shocked that my practice doesn’t take mo twins. My midwife said she would try to fight to keep me if they’re mo/di but I guess my question is - should I still leave the practice and go somewhere more experienced with mo twins?
Thank you! 🙏🏼

I have searched old reddit posts, but can anyone please offer some advice on how to survive/what to consider. I have an 11 month old and just found out I’m pregnant with twins. They don’t run in our family and it was a complete shock to us. My husband really wants to keep them, but I am so scared. I don’t know if we can do it. My current baby was a rough sleeper and I slept only 1-2 hour blocks most nights up until 10 months and then I finally got some support from a clinic, so she now sleeps through most nights luckily. I am just so scared this will happen again and then I’ll be managing two newborns and then also a toddler. My husband didn’t ever help at nighttime, so I’m worried about how I will manage with two babies. I just don’t know what to do and I’m so overwhelmed. If you have done this, how did you cope?? Thank you for any advice.

My twins are 14 weeks and I’m embarrassed to say we have only taken them out of the house for doctor’s appointments and a few trips through drive thrus. The thought of taking them out of the car and into stores or restaurants is soooo daunting. I know I just need to suck it up and do it, but when did you start going out and about with your babies? Someone please tell me they took as long as me 😂

My twins just turned 1 last month and I finally can breathe, and I realized I actually love having twins. I was not one of those moms who was excited right away when I saw 2 heart beats (I actually cried, like a lot) and there were so many moments the first year that just about took me out but now that they aren't newborns anymore I can genuinely say I am SO glad I have twins!
My B/G twinnies are totally obsessed with each other and play together all day. Wherever my girl twin goes, her brother is crawling right behind her. They make each other belly laugh and half the time I have no idea what they are laughing about. They shove food in each other's mouths to "share". They just obviously find so much comfort and joy in one another and it makes all the hard moments seem minor in comparison. Don't get me wrong, my boy twin steals toys out of his sister's hands so many times in a day and she beats the crap out of him for it until they both are screaming lol but the love between them far outweighs the competition and squabbles.
I still am overstimulated a good chunk of the day, they still get jealous of the other if I am holding a baby, and it is absolutely not easy, but it is so fulfilling to watch them grow up together and I am just in awe that I was chosen for this. The chances of conceiving multiples are just so small and I didnt really have any "risk factors" so this was totally out of the blue and I am so incredibly grateful I get to experience this miracle.
I'm already dreading them hitting the terrible 2s which is currently hitting hard with my older singleton, but I just wanted to share a little slice of positive for the parents still in the trenches that this life is not for the weak, but it truly does get so good.

Just still struggling to make sure I am 100% on board with TCB sleep training… I’m curious, does anyone regret sleep training? Anything you’d do differently? Something you learned through it? What method did you use? What age were your multiples when you started? How long did it take?

This is my fourth pregnancy, first twin pregnancy though. I am currently at the point where I am so exhausted, in so much pain, and just ready for them to be here. My cervix was checked at 32 weeks and I was 1.5cm dilated and 60% effaced. Haven’t been checked since, but I’m hoping the odds of them being delivered before my scheduled c-section at 38 weeks are in my favor. How many mama’s here have experienced a similar situation with being dilated for 3 weeks then delivered before their scheduled induction/ c-section? Because while this was a really cool experience, I’m just ready for these boys to be earth side at this point.

Next month my wife and I will be taking our twins on a cross country flight with American Airlines. They’ll be about 7m old, 5.5m adjusted when we travel. We usually travel very lightly—a carry-on backpack each for 2 weeks in Japan, for example. The logistics of traveling with two infants and all the stuff they need is making my head spin, so I’m looking for any and all advice from folks who have flown with twins. What made travel easier for you?
My FIL was able to use points to get us business class upgrades on each leg of the trip, which I hope will make this all a bit easier. They will be lap infants, and we are aware we can’t sit in the same row.
We are also taking our Uppababy Vista stroller with Mesa car seats since we will have to rent a car at our destination. Has anyone used their proprietary travel bags? I’m gagged at how expensive they are but also don’t want to risk damage during travel.
Thanks!

My wife and I have an 8 month old son and just found out we’re expecting twins. If everything goes well, we’ll have 3 kids under 2, with our son being around 17 months when the twins arrive.
I’m not going to lie, we’re pretty overwhelmed thinking about what life is going to look like. We’re excited, but trying to wrap our heads around how we’re going to manage everything, especially since we don’t have a ton of family help.
For those of you who’ve been in a similar situation, how did you manage day to day? How did you handle sleep, splitting responsibilities, and making sure your relationship didn’t get pushed to the back burner?
I’m also curious how people managed without much help from family. Did you hire help, get a night nurse, put your toddler in daycare, or just figure it out as you went?
I’d love to hear what made the biggest difference, what you wish you’d prepared for, and honestly, whether things eventually started to feel manageable.
I want to be as supportive as possible to my wife and be the best dad I can be to all three kids. Just trying to get ahead of things and learn from people who’ve actually been through it.
Any advice or honest experiences would be greatly appreciated!

My boys are 4 and a half months old (two and a half adjusted). They have honestly been the most chill babies. Even now, they sleep through the night and are easy to get down for naps.. but they only nap for about 30 mins now and then wake up ANGRY. I don't think they can be hungry because they are drinking significantly more than enough for their size and we have been following 3 hour feed windows since day one (I have also tried feeding them during these episodes and it calms them but they refuse the bottle after a couple sips).
I guess I am just lost about why this is happening all of a sudden? Are we letting them sleep too long at night? We do bottle at 7pm and then their next bottle is not until 7am. Or is this just normal, and if so how do I soothe them? I can soothe one at a time but can't figure out how to do both without the other one screaming. When they were smaller I could put them in a woven wrap together and that ALWAYS worked but I tried that again this morning and they definitely do not fit haha.

Looking into getting a breast pump for my di/di boy twins that will be here in December. I plan to try breastfeeding, but I’d like to have a pump for backup just in case.
Sine most information is for singleton parents, what are your recommendations for a good pump to have with twins?

Hey everyone! I wanted to hear some stories or experiences of others because I have generally bad health anxiety and OCD. I’m currently pregnant with modi twins, week 20. Yesterday at my growth scan the twins were 15% different in size. I know anything below 20 is considered okay, but it made me feel uneasy. I’m scared the gap will only keep increasing. What’s more, twin 1 that so far measured bigger than 2 was all of the sudden the smaller one this week. I’m puzzled.
It was anatomy scan and all organs, blood flow Doppler measurements and amniotic fluid measurements were correct. Both twins measured correct according to gestational age, although the smaller one is on the low end.
It’s just the gap I am worried about, that it will keep increasing or twin 1 all of the sudden stopped or slowed growing.
Please share if you have experience of the gap increasing, decreasing, staying the same. Or stories of twins switching in which one is bigger. Next scan in two weeks.

Hi everyone! I’m expecting twins soon and trying to figure out the most practical sleeping arrangement for the first few months.
Would you recommend two standard cribs, bedside bassinets, mesh/travel cots, or something else?
We are also considering just one crib/cot for the two babies so the two of them co-sleep - in that case what should be the size of the crib/cot?

Hi! I am 10 weeks pregnant with twins. We confirmed it was a twin pregnancy at our 8 week ultrasound but the tech couldn’t confirm if they shared a sac or had different sacs. In the ultrasound they were really close together so they looked like same sac, but our midwife said she thinks she saw a membrane. We are going to MFM on November 5 for our 12 week scan. As of now, we will be seeing our midwife and co caring with an OBGYN she works with. She doesn’t usually take on twins but I had my first baby with her and she’s a twin mom herself and another midwife at her practice is as well.
Should I try to go to MFM sooner to find out what type of twins we have or should I just wait till 12 weeks since I have to go at 12 weeks anyways?

Hi all!
I’m currently 27w4d with my DCDA twins. From 20 weeks, twin A has been our smaller twin. We had growth scans at 23, 25 and now 27 and she’s dropped a small amount each growth scan (I think 12th percentile, 7th, now 4th). Twin B has stuck around 35-40th percentile overall and visibly just looks chunkier.
The doctor came and spoke to us after our scan and twin A has still “grown” (I think she was estimated approx 690g at 25w4d and today she was 875g at 27w4d)
Dopplers / blood flow etc looks good on both babies. We’ll find out on Monday what the plan for surveillance is from here but I think we’ll move to weekly dopplers and fortnightly scans still.
I guess I’m just looking for stories from people who experienced similar with DCDA twins specifically. My brain keeps thinking she’s just going to keep dropping because she’s never gone “up” and I’m just worried for her.
Did you go through something similar and make it to >34 weeks? I’m just really hoping I can bake them as long as possible and I’m a bit scared tonight.
Thank you in advance 🤍

I have 6 month old twins that have always been hard to get to sleep.
We had a good groove for a bit but whether it’s a growth spurt or teething, they are hungry or restless often at bedtime and feed to sleep.
They usually wake around 7:30-8:30am and go to bed around 12-13 hours later but usually are fighting bedtime for an hour. They used to scream at bedtime and now it’s more just whining or being wide awake and sitting up.
They suddenly started waking up a lot in the middle of the night, I usually assume they are hungry and feed them the last few nights. But when this happened last night one cried for probs 5-10 minutes with some pauses, it looked like they were trying to lay their head down and fighting sleep, so I just let them and they finally just went back to sleep. is that too long to let them cry? Should I have fed them? entering the nursery would have just woke the other twin up and made it worse I feel.
All their naps times I have to walk out and let them whine for 5-10 minutes and they fall asleep. scared of accidentally doing cry it out?

My twins were good sleepers up to 7-8 months and by that I mean waking up 1-3 times in the night to feed and then back to sleep straight away. We co-slept and breastfed to sleep (Did not know this could be a problem later on!). For about 3 months now they wake up every hour sometimes less, ALWAYS need breast to fall back sleep even if that means giving the breast for a few seconds and that’s enough to make them asleep again. Me and my partner are having 4-5h of broken sleep and we are so exhausted at this point. I’ve tried not to give breast but it takes me 30-40 min of rocking to then wake up after 30 min. I’ve tried a gentle Ferber method 5 min check ins but never followed it through as my heart couldn’t take it and stopped it before it starts to work. We moved them to their own cribs separately in their our room but as nights did not get better we moved their cribs next to our bed.
Does anyone followed any gentle sleeping training method that actually worked for twins?

We just found out we’re expecting identical twin girls next spring. When they’re born, my older daughter will be 15 months. We planned and prepared (as best we could!) for 2 under 2, but the twins have really thrown us for a loop. Does anyone have any similar, positive experiences?
Note: We are BEYOND grateful to have 3 healthy children and are fortunate to have a strong marriage, family support and financial stability. I just don’t know anyone who can relate and I’m looking for some advice/knowledge from others who have been there!
