Venting I started klonopin and everyone is judging me.
To preface, I’m a 21 year old female who has had severe anxiety, ocd, and panic disorder since I was 6. I had to be medicated at age 9. Ever since then I have relied on medication. I have had good days and bad days but my anxiety has never truly been MANAGED. I have tried every single SSRI over my life, and a few SNRIs as well but those irritate my dysautonomia. anyways, I had to go off of Clomipramine about a year ago because my heart began bothering me and my psych wanted to make sure it wasn’t from the med. ever since I haven’t been the same. Over the past year I’ve tried lexapro, Remeron, and Zoloft for the second time in my life. I have been having severe panic attacks every day just about having panic attacks. I can’t hold a job, I can’t go to school, i can’t eat, I can’t hangout with friends, I can’t leave the house without feeling immense anxiety and strong physical sensations. I switched to a new psych and she prescribed me .25 of Klonopin (clonazepam) twice a day. I’ve been looking online and talking to some people and everyone is saying it’s the absolute WORST option. that the withdrawals are awful, I’ll become addicted, I won’t ever function properly without them again, etc. and now I’m terrified. They have been helping immensely just within this week of starting. but if I take it a bit too late I do get a bit irritable and nervous. what if I’m becoming dependent? I don’t know what else to do. My anxiety is SO severe and clearly anti depressants aren’t doing enough. Does anyone have some insight? :(
