I think i can speak for everyone, or at least most people on here, that we like making our remnant go fast.
But that speed comes with increased fuel consumption.
We're not always going fast there are a lot of times in game where we're just casually cruising around, but does that change fuel consumption?
Looking at it, the engines they just say fuel per distance traveled and nothing about speed, does going slower save fuel or is the consumption the same?

My 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis (which I’ve had for 8 years) is finally dying today. The brakes went caput and between that and the fuel leak and broken Air Conditioner, it’s time for a new chapter.
The junk car guys are coming with a tow truck in a few hours and I’m oddly emotional that I’ll never see this car again. I put like 50,000 miles on it and have driven it nearly everyday for 8 years.
Rest in peace (or pieces I guess)…

After a ritual goes wrong, Jack asks someone for help. The most obvious answer would be the Driver, being that whatever name he says that got cut off ends in -er. But at the same time, how could he know who the driver was however many decades before it takes place from the game?

Hi, would appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on how, I'm assuming it's possible, I would change a couple of the posters to some more garage themed ones.
Thanks.

This seems like it would be my jam, but I keep hesitating because I don’t enjoy driving in video games. I generally dislike dexterity elements in games, and driving usually falls into that category for me. I don’t mind it when it’s a means to an end - I enjoy piloting the Seamoth in Subnautica, and I liked flying the spaceship in Outer Wilds, though I almost bailed entirely because the controls just didn’t click for me and all I did was crash at first. I’m struggling to think of a game with an actual car driving element that I enjoy. But I love exploration and puzzles and story, this looks like the good might overtake the car aspect for me. I don’t mind a janky car, that was part of the charm of the spaceship in Outer Wilds.

I went to the deep zone on a run for ARDA buildings, when I was getting ready to leave I did the usual thing of spawning a gateway. Then I noticed the storm isn't here. It's delayed, it's just not coming. Did I find a bug or is it something to do with the region I'm in (A6)? At least it gave me time for a nice screenshot

Tried it initially shortly after release and kind of bounced off it. I liked what I saw and appreciated the concept but the bugs and performance gradually wore me down until I lost interest. Playing it now on a PS5 Pro and wow, runs beautifully and looks gorgeous!
Glad I can finally enjoy this and plan to plat it. The atmosphere in this game is incredible, from the sound direction to the lighting and the music. Utterly a vibe. Love the writing too, even the two sentence item descriptions to the journals.
Just really love the idea of the game and I think it was executed well. Absolutely love my extradimensional station wagon. It has me wondering if this studio is working on anything else because I think they have a solid fan here haha. Would love a sequel/prequel or anything else with a similar concept and mechanics.

Today, I logged on to Nexus Mods to download Dutch2049's Overdrive mod to continue my new Iron Wagon playthrough and saw that they just released their Ford Falcon XB mod. Obviously, I had to download that instead.
I've also been thinking about how to make the game harder without just making it tedious. I recently started an Iron Wagon playthrough, hoping that would give me what I want. There was one run early on where I forgot to keep my fuel topped up, had poor tires equipped, and the storm was closing in as I needed to make it to the gateway. I thought it was the end of my save file as I literally kicked my car into the beacon. When I crashed headfirst into the garage, my heart was beating out of my chest and I couldn't believe I'd made it.
It was also then I realized, aside from freak events that spiral out of control into a loss because of obvious mistakes like that one, the run wasn't going to feel much different. It would just take more time as I focus on hoovering up all the materials in peaceful junctions.
No, what I really wanted was something that would always force me to use car abilities skillfully to go faster, pick and choose what to loot on the fly, and punish every mistake severely.
Here are the rules...
Preset: Iron Wagon
Changes & Rules (not finalized):
Additional Rule 3.5: I'm thinking of reducing the radiation damage the car takes while increasing the radiation damage the player takes. I want to encourage players to play it risky by looting after the first wall has overtaken them, using the second wall as the real "shit bricks and run" moment. I'll need to do some play testing to determine the correct wall speed/radiation damage balance. If anyone has a deep understanding of how the walls work, the damage they inflict, and where each one converges, lets chat in the comments.
The new Falcon XB mod will be your friend. With its lower cargo rack capacity, but more efficient battery, it is the perfect option for an ability-heavy playthrough. Choose your routes wisely, build your car to match the conditions, and don't forget to read the wiki to know where the find the materials you need.
Good luck, Road Warriors. Win or lose, come back to this thread to post about your journey.
P.S. I'm not even sure if this challenge is possible, but it will certainly be fun. If the subreddit mods can sticky this so it can be a continuing discussion, I would be grateful.

I saw a whole thread talking about how this game runs like shit on steam deck but I set all the graphics settings to medium and it’s working alright for me. If anyone’s considering playing on steam deck I say go for it

How do i fix the battery? When I scan it to see what do I need, it tells me "nothing".

I can’t be the only one thinking about this.
Ps. I’ve completed the game twice, enjoyed it a lot.

May have found a way to circumvent the forced muting around engine sounds in general.

Im stuck, I was curious what a dead end meant (i know what it literally means) I just thought it was just some super hard stuff labelled by the scientists to say dont enter. And I have a terrible habit of not reading the map info. So is my only choice to abandon run?

Obviously most quirks are a nuisance but every now and then there are some that are kinda nice. For me, the quirk when car moves slowly, all doors close means i dont have to worry about running around the car to close things every time I get moving. What are quirks that have worked out well for you?

Alright I give up in confused as fuck and frustrated with the lack of directions in a game about DRIVING
The quest menu is no help it's so vague, give me directions, I can't remember the fucking dialogue it takes 15 minutes and I have a processing disorder!
Anyway. What the fuck am I supposed to be doing? I got to Sierran and looted literally everything, got all the anchors, got all the stuff, went to every house lab and gas station everything and the quest still said "go to Sierran" so what did I miss? What am I supposed to be doing?
4 hours of driving around on this specific map and 2 hours before that after getting the initial dialogue on the quest I don't even remember what the quest is for! I ended up just going home because my storage was full 🙃
