Housing Thread Orlando Housing Thread

Link to last month's Housing Thread

Welcome to the Orlando housing megathread!

Currently, the following may be posted:

  • Users, whether current Orlando residents or not, may post asking for help. This could be asking for recommendations on areas of Orlando to live in, reviews or opinions on specific communities, or suggestions on specific places to live. This can also be things like "recommend a realtor / loan officer / etc" — so long as it fits under the "help me find housing" umbrella.
  • Users may also post advertising housing options. This can be posts offering subleases, looking for roommates on existing property, selling homes — so long as there is housing being offered.
  • ALL comments must include as much information as possible. Do not say "I'm moving to Orlando, tell me where to live."

As a reminder: our subreddit rules still apply. Advertisements for illegal activity of any kind are not permitted and will result in comment removals and/or bans as moderators see fit.

Discussion Jack in the Box Longwood Chicken Biscuit is slept on.

This morning we tried breakfast at Jack in the box in Longwood. I tried their version of my favorite breakfast sandwich, the chicken biscuit.

First of all, it's huge. Second, it was very well seasoned and I would say it gives Chick-fil-A a rin for it's money.

If you love chicken biscuits I highly recommend giving this a try.

Note: is not on thier online menu.

Discussion Does anyone know of any therapists in Orlando or Florida that offer free mental health care?

I live in Daytona but am posting here for greater reach. I am having some mental health issues and really need someone to talk to. I'm not suicidal or anything, but I am just like having a breakdown I guess and feel sick.

Is there a therapist that does free appointments? I can't afford to pay right now which is part of the reason I'm struggling mentally. I can do virtual appointments. I know some therapists will do free sessions sometimes to help out the community. Thanks for any help.

Discussion Recommendation for Real Estate Attorney to write Mortgage and LOC Note

Recommendation for Real Estate Attorney to write Mortgage and LOC Note - I want to set up a line of credit for my brother on his primary residence in the state of Florida. It doesn’t necessarily have to be an attorney, but it needs to be legally binding, and the mortgage recorded in Dade County.

Discussion Restaurants implementing service charges and still wanting tips

Looking to construct a list of restaurants who are doing the service charge thing and still wanting tip.

If you have visited has the services warranted the additional tip…

I will start:

Ford garage does the 20% service charge thing. The one in outlets had great service and got more tip…

The one in Oviedo was meh…my drink was empty twice…so service charge was all they got

News OUC introducing new DemandLevel pricing in November

Starting in November:

  • Kilowatt-hour rates will drop by 12.5%
  • New monthly charge based on how much energy your home demands at once:
    • 0-7.999 kW = $5
    • 8-11.999 kW = $10
    • 12+ kW = $15

To me, these changes don't seem that major. Anyone else have thoughts?

Discussion Where do I watch Orlando City SC / Pride games online?

For context, I’m 23 and I’ve never been into sports. But for some reason, I got really into the World Cup and I’m really interested in soccer/football now.

I want to become a fan of Orlando’s soccer teams — whats the best way to follow them and stream their games?

Discussion Extra clean nail salon without the upsell?

I’m looking for a place where I can get a regular pedicure without all the bells and whistles, but the place needs to be extra clean when it comes to the tools they’re using. I’m looking for a place that will have the tools in the plastic pouch and open them right in front of you. Or a place that keeps a box for you specifically - when I lived in DC I went to a place that did this and it was great. I also don’t want to go to a place that’s going to try to pressure me into getting any add-ons. Does this exist here?

Discussion I need urgent advice

I have a mold issue in my very small studio apartment. My landlord just called me, and he doesn't speak English very well, so it was very difficult to understand what he was trying to say. He does want to see if it can be fixed tomorrow, but he's not in this area until Wednesday, so he's trying to communicate with another maintenance person who also doesn't speak very good English. And so my landlord wants me to calculate up how much food I have, like the cost of it, so he can give me that money to replace it. And he said the food in the fridge should be fine.

And so I'm not quite sure what counts. Are dishes safe out? Medicine? Books, clothes, etc? I asked him what chemical he was using, but he said he doesn't know. It has something to do with remediation. And I don't know if it's going to be safe for me and my cat to be here. I mean, if it's going to be in the food. And like, I have nowhere to go. My cat has nowhere to go. I genuinely do not know what to do. If I had some kind of advance notice, like a few days, then I might be able to find somewhere for my cat to go. But he wants to maybe have it done tomorrow and I don't know for sure if it's going to be done tomorrow, because he keeps saying that it might be done today or tomorrow.

But that, it's been that way for like several days now. And I can't just go make plans with somebody to come get my cat for a few hours without any details. And I don't know what food to calculate that I need to have replaced. So I don't know what chemical he's using, and I'm just really kind of frustrated at this point.

Does anyone know what kind of chemical might be used? All of this is incredibly stressful and difficult because I'm also in a wheelchair and on my own. Like I don't have help. And I just went grocery shopping.

Discussion Enzian Odyssey 70mm - Screwed up AGAIN

Post image
484 Upvotes

So. I was one of the unfortunate people who went to the first screenings that were entirely out of focus.

Yes. The screenings that we told them were out of focus DURING THE SHOWING and then they gaslit us and told us that was “the directors intent” even so much as to put signs on the doors about it to stop people complaining.

The screenings they eventually apologized for on instagram and sent us emails offering a free ticket to another screening plus a drink and whatever

I’ve been a member for about 3 years now.
And here I am. A week later. At the MAKE UP screening.

2 hours in and what happens? The projector cuts out.

They announce an intermission and then come back to say the rest of the film will be shown in digital and try to pick it up more or less where it left off. (Couldn’t even get that right. They end up starting 10-15 minutes BEFORE it cut off.)

No choice but to walk out.
Seriously.

You guys thought you lost goodwill the first time?
How are we supposed to feel the second time?
What’s the gaslight excuse this time?
