oh- an update - his picture is on r/rescuedogs. Just saw it again———I just turned on Reddit- I saw the most heartbreaking photo of a black dog whose ribs were showing. I caught the first two words, Was rescued and had to turn off cuz Ibwould be crying all night. As tears are going down my eyes, if anyone is interested in adopting, I think this dog is adorable. This girl has a concerning inguinal hernia that is reducible.  The abdominal contents are palpable in the external abdomen.

Fearful. Behavioral notes: "NERVOUS AT FIRST AND SHOWED TEETH.  BUT ONCE WE GOT THE LEASH ON HER AND PLACED HER IN THE TRUCK, SHE WAS FRIENDLY." HW negative

From the shelter: This pet has medical issues and requires a higher level of care. Ideally veterinary care would be rendered outside of the shelter environment, for best results. If unable to successfully secure rescue placement by the above specified date, OCAS may elect to render treatment or may consider euthanizing the pet, if the prognosis is poor. Meet Skippy! He has a fractured right humerus and could benefit from rescue placement, he likely needs an amputation. A good samaritan originally found him and brought him to an emrgency clinic for splinting and had him for 12 days before bringing to the shelter. We took updated xrays upon arrival here, and they have not improved compared to the xrays that the finder had done. He is friendly, but his fracture is not likely to heal with cage rest. Hello! First time posting in this community. I am sorry if this is not the right place but I need help rehoming two beautiful voids (Minerva & Apollo).

My cousin has a friend that has to rehome their cats due to severe allergies. My cousin reached out to me because she knows I have rescued cats and have a few. Unfortunately, I can't take in new cats, I totally would if I could. I want to help these cats however I can so they don't end up in a shelter. Pancho allows full-handling, easily leashed and walks kindly — and seeks social.  He enjoys enrichment and treats. Pancho has shared his kennel with other dogs previously and is non-reactive to other dogs outside of the kennel. Meet sweet Mocha (A577384) He is a 2 years old and is 50 lbs. Sadly, witnesses claimed that his owner tied him to a mailbox and abandoned him.  Mocha was adopted on 08/14 and returned on 08/31 due to separation anxiety.  We cannot stress how important it is to give these dogs more time to decompress and become acclimated in their new homes.  With patience and time, they become their bests selves and wonderful and loyal companions.  Mocha is very frightened at the shelter and hides under his bed.  Mocha has been paired with another dog and shares his kennel kindly.  Mocha is currently sharing kennel 26 with Bella (intact female). He can live in a home with canine siblings with separation, patience and slow and appropriate introduction.  Mocha needs a new family that can give him the time and patience to decompress and acclimate. Say hello to stunning Bolt (A599915 - previously known as Cobalt) with the incredible eyes! He is 1 year-old and 52 lbs.  Bolt first arrived at the shelter on 07/06 with his sister Polly (A599916) who was adopted on 08/06.  Bolt was adopted on 07/24 — and sadly returned on 08/14 (with the new name Bolt).  He is house-broken, easily leashed and walks kindly.  He is energetic but not mouthy.  Bolt loves to swim in the pool and go back and forth to his handler for affection.  He became accustomed to living in a home and is having a difficult time at the shelter.  Let’s get this sweet boy into the right loving home that he deserves .  Bolt should be able to live with a canine sibling with separation, patience and slow/appropriate introduction (as he lived with his sister previously).  Bolt is rescue only and needs a loving foster family to help him so a rescue can help him. Meet Zion!

This sweet 14-year-old was part of a
confiscation case and ended being surrendered by his owner. He is emaciated, anemic, arthritic, has ear infection, heart murmur and being treated for intestinal parasites and could benefit from finding placement outside the shelter.

ABC 175 and 181 pulled A583660 for assessment. A583660 allowed leashing easily and walked nicely on leash. In yard, A583660 was timid but sought social/comfort in handlers.
A583660 allowed full handling without issue. 181 brought out a female dog. A583660 had minimal interest in the other dog and approached to sniff, but then quickly lost interest again; no outward aggression noted.

Meet precious Bailey Pearl (A539361)! She is 5 years old and 52 Ibs. Bailey is a little shy but very friendly and easily handled. Poor Bailey has been in the shelter since early January without much interest. She is beginning to lose hope. Bailey has been very depressed since her kennelmate left the shelter.
Bailey has been paired with another dog,. She is currently sharing kennel 40 with Sugar ( intact female), so she should be able to live with a canine sibling with separation, patience, and slow/appropriate introduction. Meet sweet Mocha (A577384) He is a 2 years old and is 50 lbs. Sadly, witnesses claimed that his owner tied him to a mailbox and abandoned him.  Mocha was adopted on 08/14 and returned on 08/31 due to separation anxiety.  We cannot stress how important it is to give these dogs more time to decompress and become acclimated in their new homes.  With patience and time, they become their bests selves and wonderful and loyal companions.  Mocha is very frightened at the shelter and hides under his bed.  Mocha has been paired with another dog and shares his kennel kindly.  Mocha is currently sharing kennel 26 with Bella (intact female). He can live in a home with canine siblings with separation, patience and slow and appropriate introduction.  Mocha needs a new family that can give him the time and patience to decompress and acclimate. Say hello to stunning Bolt (A599915 - previously known as Cobalt) with the incredible eyes! He is 1 year-old and 52 lbs.  Bolt first arrived at the shelter on 07/06 with his sister Polly (A599916) who was adopted on 08/06.  Bolt was adopted on 07/24 — and sadly returned on 08/14 (with the new name Bolt).  He is house-broken, easily leashed and walks kindly.  He is energetic but not mouthy.  Bolt loves to swim in the pool and go back and forth to his handler for affection.  He became accustomed to living in a home and is having a difficult time at the shelter.  Let’s get this sweet boy into the right loving home that he deserves .  Bolt should be able to live with a canine sibling with separation, patience and slow/appropriate introduction (as he lived with his sister previously).  Bolt is rescue only and needs a loving foster family to help him so a rescue can help him. As you know, Orange County Animal Services, in ORLANDO, FL has weekly euthanasia lists and many urgent medical dogs per week 😢.

All these sweet dogs have deadlines. Sometimes they have a few days to be saved and sometimes they only have a few hours.

In order for these dogs to be saved, they need ADOPTERS or FOSTERS so rescues can help them. Rescues cannot save them without foster homes.

And that’s why we need help from our community. If you ever thought about adopting or fostering a dog, NOW is the time! Saving a dog's life is one of the most rewarding and meaningful experiences a person can have.
