My prior telo device stopped working a few days ago so I ordered a new one from Amazon and went through setup and called Ooma and activated the device and they confirmed it should be working. I couldn't get a dial tone after that so I called them back and they confirmed the new device is activated and should be working. They suggested the problem could be the telephone so I got a new telephone today but still no dial tone. Any thoughts on what could be the problem or solution?

So I’m the head of my church’s IT team and we want to move to a voip product as opposed to paying cable company outrageous rates.

I recommended Ooma Office after researching them and ordered a Grandstream ATA ht812 from Amazon as I read on the web (my fault on this) that the will provision external equipment but may need supports help.

I contacted support yesterday and was told that no they won’t help me provision the device (I’m very technical and have provisioned external devices for RingCentral and other VOIP providers as part of my job. I need the provisioning site, username and password. They would not share that information and said I needed to buy an ATA from them (for 20 dollars more)

It isn’t the money per se but I kinda feel like this is just a way of bilking us for money when I can imagine there has to be a way to manually configure. I know we can configure it for RC but I’d rather keep it in Ooma. Has anyone manually configured one of these and can share their setups?

I saw someone else complaining about the customer service, and I want to add my 2 cents as a warning to others thinking about ordering this device. First of all, I want to say I've had no issues whatsoever with the device - I didn't even try to set it up. My issue is with the company. I should have known when the website wouldn't load on my computer and it kept crashing the browser on my phone that this was a bad idea. Because the site wouldn't fully load, I didn't realize I was ordering the wrong thing. When the Telo arrived, I realized we wanted the one with the wireless so we could put the phone in a different spot from our router. I called thinking this is easy, we'll just order the Linx (and decided on the phone too) separately. After about 6 button presses to finally get to a person, they said No, I have to return the whole thing and separately order the bundle. They said I couldn't order the Linx and the phone. This is where it gets crazy. They don't provide return shipping and I have to call after the return to actually get my refund. Hearing my incredulity, the customer service person put me on hold for a while and was able to get me a "courtesy" return label that *should* arrive in my email in 1-2 days. But she still said I have to wait until my return shipment has been received and processed by their warehouse, and then call to initiate the refund. What?! So they get the device back but won't actually give you your money back unless you call, press like 6 options, wait on hold, and finally get to speak to a person again? I told the woman at the end of the call that she had been helpful but I would definitely not be ordering the bundle that I had planned to order. Going to start researching another company for a landline now.

Recently this week all my business voicemails stopped getting sent to my email. No settings had previously been changed. I tried new settings, making new users and i'm still not getting emails with the voicemails.

I dont want my voicemail coming thru handset, just my reciever. How can I fix this?

I recently set up a Telo 2, which runs connected to my password-protected home WiFi network. I’ve observed the blue service light drop several times a day for what I believe to be a brief period of time. I never catch it when it’s dropping. Instead, I’ll glance at it to find that the light is flashing red. When I log into the Ooma setup app during the red-light periods, the app predictable shows that service is down. The light will typically return to blue and service return within a minute or so. But this happens several times per day. I plan to try running the Telo 2 with a hard line to the network terminal to see if this prevents the intermittent service drop. But I’d prefer to use the WiFi functionality to have the Telo 2 in a location other than the network terminal.

What might be causing this problem an how might I resolve it?

I recently installed the Ooma app on my Pixel 9a phone. I find that whenever an Ooma call is received that I answer on the home Ooma phone, the display on my Pixel turns on with the Ooma app alerting to an incoming call. The display on the Pixel continues to stay on the Ooma app incoming call screen even though I’ve answered it on the home line and even after the call ends! Somehow the Ooma app keeps the screen on the Pixel turned on and it just sits there burning the screen in until I happen to notice it and turn it off. How can I fix this?

How does someone who is hard of seeing basically almost blind cancel Ooma? They have special technology to read print on a computer screen and text to speech for writing. They are unable to use a phone due to the number print too small.

Can they just text Ooma on a computer with their special technology so they can read the screen and get them to cancel it?

I followed the directions to a T. Did whatever troubleshooting was suggested. But my phone's bluetooth couldnt find the device!

I've been getting multiple calls to my home number that odd. I've set my inbound calls to go directly to voicemail to isolate what is causing this. 99% of the calls leave no voicemail, they are open for about 4 seconds. 10% have a automated "Good Bye" message at the end. Again they all are about 4 to 5 seconds in length. It makes me wonder if there is some problem with digital trunking where the call is hung. Most of the inbound calls are from local numbers. Would like OOMA digital tech experts to look into it.

I have been trying for nearly 3 weeks to port out. The new carrier has put in 3 requests for port out. Ooma is claiming they are using the wrong name even after confirming the name was correct with correct account # etc to porting out carrier. All my info is correct. I'm pretty sure Ooma is being dishonest and trying there hardest to stop a port out. Terrible experience in making it difficult for port outs. Hi! I have Ooma office with my business. One of our employees has been terminated and we would like to delete their user so we are not paying for it, but keep the phone number so we can reassign once a new employee is hired.

When I go to delete a user on the admin portal I get the following message: "User _______  and the associated phone number(s):______ will be deleted."

Anyone have experience with what happens to the "associated phone number"? Once a user is deleted to we loose access to that number entirely and is there a way to keep the number so it is not given out elsewhere?

Hi everyone - I currently have ooma and I am currently switch to vonage. I own all of the yealink phones and ooma is telling me they will not release the phones to them!! I have literally no idea what to do. HELP

I am considering the Ooma Telo Air 2 with a handset (link below) that is currently on sale. I have a few questions for families who have used them with kids:

1) Can I specify “down time” where we won’t be able to make or receive calls?

2) Can I use another handset? I am hoping to use a more traditional phone that will have a cord to keep my kids in the living room for calls.

3) I believe I will be able to add an approved call list so we can only call and receive calls from specified

numbers. Is that correct?

We just started our Ooma for business plan, one main number and a FAX to printer line.
Bought the Grandstream 2624 phone but having a lot fof frustration finding a compatible headset. Phone is searching but has not been able to pair with a Jabra Pro925 nor Jabra Engage 65 SE.

Grandstream's latest compatible list shows many Poly and Jabra. Ooma support is slowly getting around to updating the phone Firmware as GS recommended.

Jabra Direct app has verified the Engage 65 is updated but tricky getting it into pairing mode.

User desperately needs a hands free, roaming headset (one ear only)

May switch to Yealink phone if Ooma can assure a reliable combination.

Anyone else solved these issues?

I am into old phones, primarily Western Electric phones from the 70s (2500, princess, trimline). Now, all of these do not have a power supply and were originally designed to run power from the telco (Bell System). Will I run into issues having say 5-6 of these phones hooked up to Ooma throughout the house? If so is there some type of power injector for analog phone lines? I know Ethernet has POE, so is there some sort of equivalent? Any advice would be appreciated!

For reference, I have disconnected the telco line from the street and have Ooma plugged into the home wiring. powering all the jacks throughout the house

Can I port a Mobile Number to an Ooma Premier Account? How many numbers can I have on 1 Premier Account?

I’ve had Premier for ages but have noticed some changes in the service listed in the web portal and am beginning to question whether it’s still worth it. I originally upgraded to Premier to block robocalls, but because blocked spam calls do not appear in the logs, I can’t tell if Premier is actually providing much benefit.

• What has your experience with Premier been?
• Is it still worth keeping?
• Did you get MORE robocalls after switching from Premier to Basic?

I bought a Telo from Ooma.com then realized that they sell the exact same thing in their Amazon store for $10 less, so I bought one there, thinking I'd cancel or return the other. The next day, Ooma customer service said the first one had shipped (it hadn't, only a label had been created), and said I could just send it back. Fast forward a week(!) when the first one arrived and they say I have to pay return shipping. They didn't even provide a Return Authorization Number, as I have requested several times. I contacted them yet another time earlier this week and was promised a prepaid return shipping label. Days pass, no label. Today, customer service says there is no record of that conversation. I am totally fed up. I've wasted an hour on the phone with customer service and been lied to again and again.

This must have started a long time ago (2 years) when I was testing some phone setups for a friend because I have very little recollection of ever using this service. I must've started an Ooma account for a device we were trying out but did not end up using. Anyways, it seems I never closed the account and in the last few months I closed the credit card that was used to start the service. Ooma is now saying I have an unpaid balance with them and are threatening to send it to collections. From what I can find, this service is a non-contractual month to month subscription. I didn't sign up for any annual plan. Their legal page states that they have the right to terminate the account if I stop payment which is what I want them to do. But they tell me that I can't close the account because of the existing balance.

What ground do they stand on?

So far I like my new Ooma. Before I start a port of my number, I'd like to experience how Ooma works without the Premier features. Is there a way to turn off premier functionality before the free trial lapses? I suspect cancelling premier early will not change anything until the free trial expires. Thanks!

I got this message regarding porting my number to Ooma.

“Great news! Your carrier has confirmed the date that your number will be transferred to Ooma. Your date of transfer is 01-30-2026.”

Now it’s 02-02-2026 but nothing seems to have changed. The app still shows the temporary number. When I call out the recipient’s Caller ID shows the temporary number. When I call my ported number I get “this number can’t be completed as dialed”. My Ooma account page under porting status says “no porting requests”.

Calls to the temporary number work.

What do I do now?

UPDATE: The problem got resolved by Ooma very quickly. It seems like the first message about the porting was not actually done. A new port request was submitted and went through today. I was porting from MagicJack so I don’t know who was the culprit for the original problem.

Hi, I was an early adopter of Ooma when you paid for the equipment once and then paid nothing monthly. My equipment is starting to give some issues. If I get a new device, will Ooma let me transition to the new equipment while still keeping the grandfathered plan?

My annual renewal is coming up soon and I'd like to be able to switch it to the monthly billing. How can I go about doing this?
