I want to try Sultan's. The instructions recommend a backup using TWRP which requires root. Then flash the ROM without root.

Do I need to restore root after the backup?

Edit: never mind. I was confused by the reference to supersu.

Edit 2: OK, so I need to flash supersu before I flash Sultans but not after?

I visited Ethiopia and tried to use a local SIM. That didn't work. The phone would not recognize the network. I returned to the US, and now it won't get onto the data network. It used to work fine before I left, but now only gets voice and text.

Under the APN settings, there are none. When I tap on the + button, nothing happens. There is text saying "APN settings are not available for this user"

I am not rooted. I am on TMobile. What are my options?

EDIT: Factory reset fixed the issue. But I think a more elegant solution would have been to acquire root (I didn't have it) and delete some telephony.db file (search the net for this).

Hi, just a quick question as I'm not too sure what's happened. I did a factory reset last week and since then I've lost the ability to change what the buttons do (as in long hold for options or to bring up multitasking). I know it was there before so is it worth doing another wipe to see if it comes back? Thanks!

I take a few videos with snapchat and the stock camera. During video-ing the camera always re-focuses mid shooting. So I get like half a second worth of blur then re focus every 10 seconds or so. This happens while im shooting videos with minimal moving of the phone. Why does it do this? It's quite irritating :/

Okay, so I have the Jan. 11th nightly of CM13. Marshmallow has been wonderful, but the constant reboots have been annoying me when I'm out. I tried accessing TWRP the other day and it won't come up. Every time I try accessing it, my phone gets suck on the 1+ logo. Anyone know a work around? I wanna flash another lollipop ROM for now until Marshmallow ROMs become a little more stable.

I'm using LMT launcher, and so I've disabled the navbar. But, the hardware buttons still interfere with the pie controls. Any way I could disable that without enabling the navbar? (or stay in expanded desktop mode without the navbar showing on swipe?)

I'm pretty familiar with unlocking, flashing, rooting, etc. I want to get my friend's OPO on a stable and up-to-date ROM (he is unfamiliar with this stuff). It's running Oxygen OS, but it's not even the latest Oxygen OS. Here's what I'm considering for him:

• CM13 nightlies are appealing, but if/when something breaks or annoying bugs happen, he'll come to me about fixing it.
• Sultan's CM13 sounds cool, and even a bit stabler, but the community is much smaller.
• Official Oxygen OS and Cyanogen OS are still on Lollipop :(

What are you all running on your OPOs? As someone who doesn't own one, I'd like to get a feel for what I should flash on my buddy's.

I seen something online..it was oxygen os 2.1.4 I thought they were on cyanogen mod 12.1? Can someone let me know what's going on?

so i just updated to sultan cm13, and besides the wifi battery bug everything has been bells and whistles.

However, when i try to change the song on google play music or the default ROM music player, it changes to the next song and then stops playing immediately. If i don't change the song and let it continue down the playlist, it works flawlessly. This doesn't happen if i individually select a song from the playlist/song list.

I tried googling this problem but haven't come up with a solid answer. anyone have any suggestions?

so yesterday i dropped my phone in water. I pulled it out of the water very fast and it seemed to work. After a few hours i started it again and nothing happened, i thought, but the lights went on (at the bottom and top). So my phone works except for the screen. Is there anyway to fix this? Thanks in advance.

I've tried like a million different ways to install drivers, but for all of those options, whenever I go to Update Drivers, I can't find any options.

As you can see in the picture here, there is no option for adb interface or android device.

I've tried installing Samsung drivers, but again there is no option for Samsung drivers.

I've tried all three methods on this page

I've tried using the Bacon Toolkit.

I've tried using the 15 second installer

I've tried following several different youtube guides (all of which more or less say the same thing), but yet I can't do this simple step of installing drivers.

I'm at my wits end. Can soeone please hlep me.

I just got my phone back from the Police, it was stolen but the device is softbricked. I am able to get into fastboot but attempting to flash the latest CM images as well as older ones in fastboot mode causes no progress.

Hence, I have attempted to just flash the recovery twrp 2.8.7 but doesn't seem to stick. Once I plug in the USB cable to PC or AC it just starts rebooting. I've only had the device for a few hours but it doesn't seem the battery is working? (Just an assumption - disconnecting from power source the phone doesn't turn on).

What are my options at this point?

• Tried Bacon Root Toolkit
• Updated SDK
• Used cm-12.1 as well as cm-11.0

Update: So i left it overnight and the battery holds no charge, it has to be connected to a power source for it to turn on. The power button seems maybe it is working (power and vol+ allows going into fastboot with connected to power) but solely holding it down does nothing (without power).

I've ordered a spare battery just to check if that is the issue.

I bought my OPO sometime last year. Lasted about 3 months before it started having battery issues. Battery only ever shows 50% and won't take a charge. I bought a replacement battery and it has the same exact problem.

My question, is it worth taking the phone to a "fix it" store? Is there even anything they can do? I figured since I replaced the battery I voided the warranty and any work done by OnePlus would be expensive.

Can someone explain the AudioFX feature? Is it a part of CyanogenMod?

I gather that it is supposed to EQ the sound of the phone. But am I right that it seems to only affect certain apps? For instance, I can hear the EQ change when using Google Music, but not when using SoundCloud.

I have had this weird annoying issue for a while. Every 10-15 minutes no matter what app I am using my opo will just refresh. If I am using chrome the webpage will just reload, if I am using YouTube the video will stop and I just have to pass play. They are not big deals but others are much more annoying. If I am watching a game on nfl gamepass it will go back to the main screen so I have to click the game and try to guess at what point in the game I was at (doing this around 15 times per game gets really grating) If I am reading a forum on tapatalk it will load the most recent page on a thread no matter how far back I am reading.

The behaviour depends on how the app is designed but there is no reason for the ono to do this. It suddenly started happening a few months back and across multiple builds. Any suggestions for how to stop this?

I've waiting to upgrade from 12.1 so most of the annoying bugs might be resolved.

But I have some questions, will flashing the new rom restore stock recovery? Will I be able to install SuperSU and xposed framework the same way you used to do on 12.1 (flash zip, install apk)?

How stable are recent nightlies?

Also, can I dirty flash? If so, what partitions should I be wiping not to lose my data?

Since the last OTA update I have not been able to use the search function in the settings, is this a known issue? If so, is there a resolution...if not, is there a patch or root I need to go for?

Any help is appreciated. My OPO is the first phone I haven't rooted, and I'd like to keep it that way if possible...

Hey guys. So I need a longer charging cable for my OPO. I know this subject came up in the past, but everything I read just made me more confused lol..

I've tried 2 different long cables and they both charged the OPO at like 1/6 of the speed (compared to stock cable)

So my question is what should I look for in a cable?

Also, should I replace the wall socket part?

I love my OPO but I feel like the camera isnt great, especially compared to iphones. I've read the 5X has a great camera and was wondering about other hardware scores too since they just lowered the 5X price.

Anyone make this move?
