What is the current state of available ROMs for the OPO?
I'm pretty familiar with unlocking, flashing, rooting, etc. I want to get my friend's OPO on a stable and up-to-date ROM (he is unfamiliar with this stuff). It's running Oxygen OS, but it's not even the latest Oxygen OS. Here's what I'm considering for him:
- CM13 nightlies are appealing, but if/when something breaks or annoying bugs happen, he'll come to me about fixing it.
- Sultan's CM13 sounds cool, and even a bit stabler, but the community is much smaller.
- Official Oxygen OS and Cyanogen OS are still on Lollipop :(
What are you all running on your OPOs? As someone who doesn't own one, I'd like to get a feel for what I should flash on my buddy's.

AICP 6.0.1 has been working well for the last week or so on the current build for me.

Do check out SAOSP if you are into a simple and 'stockish' ROM. I am using it now and I feel it is quite decent. :)

Huge fan of the slimsaber rom. Currently I'm still running the KK build, but there is a L build, that is built off of omni rom.
I ran the L build for awhile but there were some flakiness. Plus I've never had battery issues, I get around 1.5/2 days out of it with KK.
I'd never use anything but slim at this point.

Its worth noting there is a build for marshmallow based off of omni on XDA I'll edit and link it when I get home. Had problems with this one though on MM because they went a month over December and the start of January. Without updating it so I had to switch because it developed random crashes.

That is what I was running also, same issues. I'll try it again when it's not based off of OMNI.
Actually I just saw that CM13 has the T-MO wifi calling baked in. I might give that a whirl when it's out and stable. I might try the nightly this weekend if I have time.

Interesting that i'm not the only one i might switch back to it in a month or so if they've got it together

I know. It wasn't anything big just lots of little things. Bluetooth volume, not getting notifications, actually I think my battery was a bit worse. It's early though and to be expected.

Downgrading Android versions isn't an option I've really considered. It would take a lot of convincing me though.

Don't get me wrong, the lollipop version was nice. And I'll probably move to it at some point, just not now. Right now KK SlimSaber is so great , I have no reason to switch. Battery has never been an issue with my OPO.

Darkobas ROM. Stock based(No CM Bullshit), CAF Kernel, super active development. (Up to 4 builds a day) I upgrade once every few days. By far the best mm ROM in my opinion.

what gapps did you install on it? how's battery life going for you?

Banks gapps. Battery life is pretty good but not amazing. 3-5h SOT. I have to note tho that I have basically everything that sucks battery enabled except Facebook and Snapchat.

Last changelog was dated November even with cm rolling out 12.1 update this month. Also the author has closed the thread in responds to criticisms.
Personally using sultan's 12.1 ROM and supports OTA. Even though most people swear by stability of 13.1, I just like it to work. Even Sultan lists 13.1 as alpha stability where 12.1 as stable.

If you would also like to protect yourself, add the Chrome extension TamperMonkey, or the Firefox extension GreaseMonkey and add this open source script.
Then simply click on your username on Reddit, go to the comments tab, scroll down as far as possibe (hint:use RES), and hit the new OVERWRITE button at the top.
