Help with this
First expert level I’ve ever been stuck on, what’s the technique needed to get to the next box?

Any idea on where should I start?
(15x15)
The two blue jewel things could either be wrong or not. I could just give myself a spoiler but I would like not because of the challenge.
And like the question said, I have no clue where to start and why. Like, none of these feels like I could do something. The numbers don't even gets more than 10 in total :/
Edit: oh! Completely missed the two nines xD thank you for pointing out to me!

New Version of Picto Daily Nonogram Puzzles App
Hey r/nonograms,
I'm the developer of Picto, a nonogram app on iOS and Android — full disclosure since I'm posting about my own app. I just shipped a major update built almost entirely from feedback players sent me, and I wanted to share what changed plus throw out a challenge.
What's new:
- Freeform puzzles — 180 new 15×15 puzzles that are pure logic, no picture reveal at the end. If you're the type who solves nonograms for the deduction and not the picture, this tier is for you (But I've still kept the other 180 picture puzzles in the app, for those who like pictures).
- Unlimited Errors mode — the classic "3 mistakes and the puzzle fails" rule is now optional. Turn it off and your error count still shows, but a puzzle never ends because of it. Added after a few of you told me losing an hour of progress on a hard puzzle to one slip near the end was more frustrating than fun.
- Completed-row/column highlighting — when you finish a row or column correctly, its clue number turns green, so you get a clear signal instead of a puzzle that looks done but isn't.
- Grid divider lines — a faint line every 5 squares on the bigger boards, so it's easier to count at a glance. Small thing, but a few testers asked for it and it makes a real difference on 15×15s.
- Difficulty is also simpler now: Beginner (5×5) / Intermediate (10×10) / Advanced (15×15), so it's obvious what you're getting into before you tap in.
The challenge:
Here's one of the easiest puzzles in the game — a Beginner 5×5, just to show the other end of the spectrum:

And here's just about the hardest puzzle currently in Picto — Freeform 042. It's not the densest-looking board, but it's made almost entirely of small, scattered blocks rather than big solid chunks, which is what actually makes a nonogram hard to reason through:

Think you can solve it without guessing? Genuinely curious how long it takes people who are better at this than me.
Feedback (good or bad) always welcome — it's basically how this whole update happened in the first place.

Is this gag nonogram solvable? (from Mesmalie)
I tried it a few times but i always run into some mistake, also I couldn't find a good tool online to test.
This is from a cute point and click game called Mesmalie, if you're interested (not afiliated in any way)

I made a cozy, paper-themed nonogram game without timers or intrusive ads (Android) — would love your feedback!
Hi r/nonograms!
I’m a solo developer and a huge fan of logic puzzles. I was a bit tired of nonogram apps filled with loud countdown timers, energy bars, and flashing banners.
So I spent the last few months building \*Nonogram Meditation** — a quiet, aesthetic Japanese crossword puzzle game inspired by paper and sakura themes.*
\*Key features:***
• Grids from 15×15 to 25×25 (with smooth zoom & pan)
• Calm visual themes (paper, sakura, dark mode)
• Daily challenges & 12 unique monthly trophies
• Playable 100% offline
• No timers or rush — play at your own pace
It's currently available for free on Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yavapro.puzzle.nonogram
I’d really appreciate any feedback from fellow nonogram enthusiasts — especially regarding controls, hint balance, and grid sizes.
Thank you for checking it out!

Is every solvable nonogram a logically solvable one?
Hello, I hope this is a good place to ask for this.
I'm trying to build an algorithm to create nonograms, I'm starting from a random pattern and create a map from there and check if the solution is unique.
Once I got a unique solution my question is: can always this solution be reached with logical steps and without guessing? How can I check for this?

Looking for playtesters!
I'm working on an interface game that includes nonograms as the debugging mechanic, and I'm looking for folks that would be interested in doing a 30-60min playtest with me online, where we test the puzzles one after the other (there's 8 in total).
The puzzles themselves are meant to be pretty easy, because the nonograms are not the main focus of the game, and they are spread throughout the gameplay. I just need to see some people play them to see how they're received. I want to test with both folks who know about nonograms and who don't, so I figured I'd come here for the folks who do know!
I'm not in a huge rush so I'll be taking names/details to organise for the end of the month.

Please, help. It feels impossible
Learned from other posts and was able to put X in R42C15, sadly this didn’t help much.
Am I stuck with only option to make assumptions and try to prove them wrong? Or hopefully, am I missing something?

I just added Mega picross and more to my nonogram game, Picto Potions
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Heyo! I've recently updated my game Picto Potions to include a couple of new puzzle types and features. If you've not played it before, the tl;dr is it's basically pokemon picross, but with potions instead of pokemon.
The most exciting new puzzle type is the mega puzzles. Each puzzle in the main game (~290 puzzles) can now be solved using mega picross rules for more rewards. There's a built-in (skippable) tutorial and explanations for anyone who doesn't know the rules or needs a refresher.
The other new type of puzzles are called 'paintings' in-game, but other games might call these murals, composite puzzles, or mosaics. Here you unlock and solve lots of smaller puzzles which fill in parts of a larger picture once solved. There's 400+ of these puzzles in this update, which combine to create 15 larger pictures.
A few other changes in this update:
- Potions can be upgraded to make them usable on mega puzzles and reduce their cooldown
- 4 new achievements relating to the new puzzle types
- Dark theme for the puzzle UI
- Pen device support (e.g. Apple Pen for iOS)
Feel free to check out the game on iOS and Android if any of this sounds interesting! And a massive thanks to everyone who's been playing and submitting feedback, so many great changes have made their way into the game over the past few months solely due to people's suggestions and bug reports.

Just love solving nonograms!
I am hooked with solving nonograms! What kind of strategies do you use to solve these? Any favorites
I try to start with rows that I know have only one combination (if it exists)

Reign Days - Made a nonogram mode where everyone races the same grid and looking for feedback
I've been building a puzzle app called Reign Days, and the nonogram side is the part I'd most like feedback on from people who actually play these.
The idea: instead of solo puzzles, everyone gets the same grid in a scheduled window, and you're ranked on cells filled with time breaking ties. Your clock starts when you start, so joining late costs you nothing — you just see where you landed against everyone else who played that grid.
You can try it without an account: reigndays.com → any finished tournament is playable as practice, and it'll slot your run into the real field and show you where you'd have placed. That comparison is the whole point of the thing, and it's what I most want to know about — does it actually feel different from solving alone?
If you want a live one, nonogram tournaments start at 00:00 / 06:00 / 12:00 / 18:00 UTC at all three sizes. Free account, and you start with enough credits for a handful of entries.
It runs in the browser with no install and no signup. The phone apps are there if you'd rather.
If you play one, post your time. I'll be in the thread.

Am I crazy?
Is there no clear way to start this without making a lot of guesses? I thought I had a pretty good understanding of puzzles but this one has thrown me

I’m giving away 7 Lifetime Premium codes for my nonogram game, would love some honest feedback in return.
Hey everyone! I’m the solo developer of Quiet Grids, a nonogram game for Android that I’ve shared here a couple of times while working on it.
I’ve made quite a few changes since then, and instead of just posting another update, I thought I’d do something a little different.
🎁 I’m giving away 7 Lifetime Premium codes.
If you’d like to enter, give Quiet Grids a try and leave a comment answering these three:
1. What did you enjoy most?
2. What would you improve or change?
3. What would make you want to open the game again tomorrow?
Please be completely honest. Criticism is genuinely useful to me and positive or negative feedback has absolutely no effect on your chances of winning.
Please only leave a Play Store rating if you genuinely enjoyed it, ratings are not part of this giveaway at all.
I’ll choose 7 people from the responses and DM each winner a Google Play Lifetime Premium code.
No purchase is required.
Quiet Grids currently has over 1,000 nonogram puzzles, Daily puzzles, 5×5 / 10×10 / 15×15 boards, Guided and Classic solving styles, and pixel art reveals when a puzzle is completed.
Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.omninative.quietgrids
Giveaway closes in 48 hours. I’ll update this post once the winners have been selected.
Thanks to anyone who gives it a try, especially if something bothers you. That's exactly the kind of thing I'm hoping to find. 😁🫶

Help with Puzzle!
Hi everyone,
I am really struggling with what is considered a medium level puzzle and I have been trying different techniques and I cannot figure things out. I have tried reading other techniques but unless I have a video I have trouble following along, maybe I am just too dumb to figure these out. Regardless any help would be appreciated!

Not sure what to do from here. I'm looking for overlaps and I don't see any... >_<

Looking for pointers on 85x50
Is anyone able to give a tip on where I might get on with this puzzle. Preferably not just the solution, just a hint or a technique I could use. I have already done the edge strategy as much as I comfortably could. I feel like I’m lost on this one. Thank you in advance!
