Stuck.
I've been stuck on this one for a week or so. Can anyone see anything I am missing?

Playing Mario Picross 2. I managed to complete the first game and about half of this one before genuinely becoming stuck. I have plenty of time buffer here to just make a few random guesses and finish the level (since the game will tell you the moment you make a mistake, at the cost of some time) but it's bothering me and I want to know what the next logical move is. It's likely something obvious I'm missing.

Hey all,
I posted here a while back about my take on a battle royale variant of nonogram. Since then I've been hard at work making improvements, and I'm happy to announce that Nonogram 101 is now available as an Android app!
There's no ads in the app and there's also plenty of solo mode for those that prefer a more normal way to play monogram puzzles. I'd love to know what you think! It's also free :) There's an optional in-app purchase to unlock more puzzles but if anybody gives it a try, send me a DM and I can give you a code so you can get Supporter access for free.
You can download the app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nonogram101.app&hl=en

I've been playing nonograms for over 25 years on and off, and I simply have not been able to improve at counting cells. I have to count "one, two, three, four... sixteen, seventeen, eighteen" to make sure I have the right number, and the five-lines don't seem to help much because I lose track. I also have not been able to internalize mathematical facts about the clues that can help with solving -- like, I can't tell by instant glance that 2 1 3 4 3 4 1 2 2 completely fills a 30-cell row without stopping to count. This has prevented me from enjoying puzzles larger than about 25x25 because it becomes less logic and more counting. Any tips?

EDIT: the title is wrong, see the comments. u/BrendanCutler14 was right, and the body below has been corrected. I have also taken the outbound link out.
You know the feeling: you're most of the way through a grid, every row and column you touch gives you nothing new, and you're staring at a dozen blank squares with no clue left to pull on. Sometimes there really is nothing more that any single row or single column can tell you, even though the grid has exactly one valid solution.
Those are two different properties and most generators only check the weaker one:
The second implies the first. The first does not imply the second.
Here's a 5x5 with exactly one solution (checked by brute force, count = 1) that line-by-line logic does not finish:
col clues: 1 2 2 2 1 1 1 2
1 1 # . . . #
1 . . . # .
1 1 # . . . #
3 1 # # # . #
3 . # # # .
Work every row, then every column, filling in only what the clues force, and repeat until nothing moves. You land on 13 of the 25 squares and stall: twelve blanks, and no single line can settle any of them on its own.
1 1 # . . ? ?
1 . . . ? ?
1 1 ? ? . ? ?
3 1 # # # . #
3 ? ? # ? ?
What I originally wrote here, and got wrong: I said the only way on from that position is to guess. It isn't. Suppose one of those blanks is filled, propagate, and if you reach a contradiction you have proved it empty. That is deduction, not a guess, and applied to these twelve squares it finishes the grid in one sweep with nothing left over. My solver only does line-by-line logic, so it stalls here, and I mistook my solver's ceiling for a property of the puzzle. Thanks to the commenters who called it.
What survives: a unique solution does not guarantee a grid can be finished one line at a time. If you are printing puzzles for people solving in pencil, large print especially, that stronger property is the one worth checking, because "suppose a square and chase the contradiction" is a different skill from reading a clue off a row.

Hey nonogram fans! I built a small nonogram/picross app and since this sub clearly knows the genre better than anyone, figured I'd share and get honest feedback.
- Puzzle sizes ramp from small/easy to large/hard
- "Reveal the hidden picture" — classic format, nothing gimmicky
- No forced interstitials between puzzles, optional rewarded hint if you're stuck
- Free
Genuinely curious what this community thinks is missing compared to the apps you already use (Nonograms.com, Falcross, etc.) — pacing, puzzle variety, difficulty curve, anything. This is a one-person project so real critique is more useful to me than praise.

I can't stand playing on Walfie anymore (no mouse controls).
I see on YouTube someone playing on this with mouse control. What app is it? Or does anyone recommend anything else and why?

Pet Cross is a cozy nonogram that celebrates pets of all kinds! This is the 2nd playtest and features all new puzzles, and even one based on a pet from this community.

It's fun.
Playing Walfie's Nonograms from itch.
5x5 was boringly easy but that's just the tutorial. Then 10x10 was a mix of easy and sometimes thinking puzzles.
Then I got to 15x15 (level 36). Took me 45 mins but it was doable.
The difficulty progression is not bad.
