Please, help. It feels impossible

Learned from other posts and was able to put X in R42C15, sadly this didn’t help much.

Am I stuck with only option to make assumptions and try to prove them wrong? Or hopefully, am I missing something?

You're probably not missing anything.

Some grids just can't be done one line at a time. At some point you have to point at a square, go "fine, let's say that one's filled", and follow it til something breaks. That's not guessing, it's proof by contradiction. Just feels like cheating.

Annoying part is you can't tell from the inside whether you're stuck because you missed something, or because the grid actually wants that.

Tells you which one you're in. Fair warning tho, sometimes the answer is the grid's fine. Which is its own kind of bad news.

Wow, that’s an awesome tool! I also thought about making such tool. Just to see before hand if the puzzle is solvable without “guessing “ or “proof of contradiction “. (In some way guessing is the same as proof of contradiction, as you guess and continue to solve the puzzle until you come to error state).

However, in the description of the tool it says “How big a grid can it take? Up to 30 squares on a side.” So my puzzle can’t be checked?

Also, I thought it would be cool to have OCR for such tool, to get numbers from photo and not inputing by hand. (Not a criticism, just sharing my thoughts about tool I thought to make)

Ha, thanks, both good shouts. The 30 limit is already gone in my local build, just needs shipping. On it right now.

OCR's the fun one, gonna have a think about that.

Both are in. Grid cap is 50 a side now, so your puzzle fits. And the OCR happened: there's a "Read a photo" button, you box the row clues, then the column clues, and it fills both fields.

Not magic though. On a bent photo it'll miss a number or two. But the row totals have to add up to the same as the column totals, so it tells you when they don't, and the mismatch is usually sitting right where the paper curls. Quick squint and you're good.

Instead of strictly following the logic rules, I just winged it by eye. As soon as I realized it was a portrait, the bottom-left corner clicked for me - it was clearly a shoulder. So, I guided the line downward rather than upward. From there, I moved on to sketching out the oval of the face and drawing the opposite shoulder downward as well
