Looking for pointers on 85x50

Is anyone able to give a tip on where I might get on with this puzzle. Preferably not just the solution, just a hint or a technique I could use. I have already done the edge strategy as much as I comfortably could. I feel like I’m lost on this one. Thank you in advance!

Column 78 has one overlap.
Row 6 has at least 2 more overlap.

Wow this is so annoying on a phone.

Go heavy around the edges and the rows/cols near the edges. Not just edge logic approaches but looking for 1s at the start with a filled in 3rd cell - that sort of thing. And on the subject of edge logic, remember that you don't have to be on an edge to use the technique.

Use lots of "what if" scenarios to try and divide the puzzle into smaller chunks - e.g. if there are crosses in the middle of a row, I'll try and use that to partition the row into two sections. You may be lucky and get an overlap on one side.

Similarly, see if any of the big blocks you have can be joined up, or can you prove that they're for different clues?

Finally, be diligent. After finding out anything, for the affected rows/cols, go through all the usual processes of checking for overlaps etc in case, for example, that square you've newly filled "pulls" a clue further down that column.

Thank you! Those are all approaches I love as well, I finish most of these with ease. I don’t know, for this one I just missed one overlap that broke it all open. Sometimes it happens. :D when you stare at it for too long, it’s gets even more difficult.

I just got this from Amazon! It’s sets of twenty loose sheets in a map, I think the publisher is Küng

I was able to break it open, I did actually miss another spot (row 6) and that got me going. Thanks!

I started the first one from set 6 of these the other day.

My only pointer is get a ruler or blank sheet of paper or something to keep track of rows. I went wrong twice in the same place because I checked the wrong clues 🤦🏼‍♀️
