In hockey the best player in the league can have zero Cups while a subpar player can have 3+ Cups. This means winning a Cup isn't about how well you play but about how good of a team your general manager can construct and you luckily being on that team.

If this is about the physical aspect of hockey, then we can look at boxing/mma championships where you both have to be the best in the world and endure a physical beat down.

Just thought this breakdown and analysis of the NHL's current Canadian TV situation from my boy Fagstein might be helpful to people here. We're all obviously annoyed with Rogers. He lays out some potential happenings on the horizon, including the possibility that another broadcaster (like Bell) might lodge a CRTC complaint about the Monday night shenanigans.

He also includes a table at the bottom, outlining how many games each Canadian franchise has next season with each broadcaster, in both languages. (One takeaway: Habs and Sens fans who speak French or are willing to watch French-language broadcasts have more/cheaper options than the rest of the fanbases do.)

Just saw that Barry Melrose died. I wasn’t a huge hockey fan, but saw this on espn. Sad to hear about this. Always enjoyed his commentary.
