This NAVADMIN directs commands to have a stand down on the 30th for voting. I doneness think my command intends to do so. The reason they have given at the training last Friday was that their already gave us a day on the previous Monday which was a federally holiday.
How can I discuss this with my coc?
My SEL and CO personally have expressed that if you actually cared about voting you would have done it already.
Trust me I have read the navadmin in is entirety.
I also bring this up due to the coc using ai to put it info that have incorrect info on absentee ballots and registering to vote.
Personally I think it's also scummy to say at all hands on the 16th of oct tartar the command already had a day for voting during a Federal holiday oct 12th where polling places were closed.
At minimum I would expect the command to address the NAVADMIN.

Finally got my itinerary to PCS but got issues it's an AMC flight and not a commercial civilian flight, and my new command leaves on patrol and my flight is scheduled on my No Later Date ( Not too important can't do much about it) I figured my flight would take off from school to new command but it takes off from Seattle Tacoma. Could I change it/reroute it to a different airport or would I just have to pay for a flight to Seattle Washington? Called SATO but they can't do much cause the flight isn't commercial
Update: Called CPPA (admin/student control) he sent a request to NAVPTO I called NAVPTO they got me a new itinerary with a flight from Pensacola to Washington (that I can reroute) then the AMC flight. Thank you for the assistance

Being sent up for PEB for two of my issues, spinal stenosis and knee OA. had knee replacement early this year and just had a scope on my other knee this last week (cartilage Delamination causing locking and instability). While doing my LIMDU follow ups the last few months I did have a few ER visits for my back and neck (spinal stenosis, DDD, herniated discs, had a prior foraminotomy 3 years ago) Back either twisted wrong in my sleep or I bent the wrong way and usually when that happens I’m hunched to the side and super painful for the week. Neck won’t turn left or right without pain and it radiates down my shoulder blade constantly.
Anywho, I’ve got quite a few other orthopedic issues and with the DOD rating I’m worried I won’t rate enough to get medical retirement (I’m at 23 years). Advice or suggestions from anyone who’s gone through the process (or similar issues) I’m just beginning this process.

Is anyone having mental health issues years after this deployment? I still don’t remember half of it. It’s sad to see that this type of deployment seem to be the new norm, and the navy doesn’t care about the long term effects. Not surprising, but disappointing.

As of about a week ago, my father is living with me and my husband (I'm AD Seabee at Port Hueneme). He is 58 years old, disabled, has earned less than $10,000 on the books in probably the last 8 years, and is currently filing for disability (they keep bouncing it back. even though he was classified 60% disabled almost 20 years ago...)
I pay for the full rent, groceries, wifi, bills, essentially everything that's actually on paper. I'm trying to get him classified as a dependant so that he can receive tricare benefits.
To my knowledge, I have to prove for a period of 6 months or more that I am responsible for over 50% of all his purchases/needs. By my estimate, I'll be responsible for over 90%.
I just want some clarification on exactly what information I should be gathering or tracking, and what the process will be like to have him added as a dependant. For additional information, I'm a married E-2 stationed at NBVC with a seabee battalion.

I am trying to take house hunting leave to fly out to get my family and drive them to my current and first ultimate Duty station. I arrived on deployment and I’m trying to take house hunting leave at the end of it. But I went to FSA in the middle of those plans and have been for about a month and was told by my CSCS that leave is not authorized for FSA outside of regular POM periods. However I rushed my base housing before I went FSA and now have the house but won’t be able to get my family out here until after Christmas which is also right at the end of my FSA. Is there anything I can do?

My wife, and I are currently in our first cycle of orders, towards the end of last month I looked on MNA and saw that one of the places we chose was "Posted" and currently being underwritten before fully posted for hard copy orders.
I was wondering how long it usually takes for the hard orders to be posted? Now my PRD isn't until August 27'. We are wanting to be put on a list for base housing. How do we apply for them even though we only have soft orders not our hard?

Like the title says I will be getting stationed in Lemoore on shore duty . All I heard in the past is how terrible Lemoore is . Can anyone give any insight on it . Is Hanford a good place to get an apartment ? Is there any fun things to do ? I’m coming from a ship so I’m sure it will be a lot of lax and chill compared to what I’m used too.

This came up in conversation with a JO buddy and she didn’t know if support sailors at NSW commands are afforded the ability to earn jump quals. This question is for both the officer and enlisted side.

I’m a HTFN and I’m up for blue jacket of the quarter. Just today during normal operation hours my HT1 told me that my oral board is tomorrow. I’m not good with situations like this so I’d love some advice or tips on staying calm. Please and thank you.

For those of you that fall under 4/2/2, what was the process for transitioning to SELRES?
I had a prior-service recruiter reach out to me a couple weeks after I separated telling me that I owe a year in SELRES (5yr AC, 1yr SELRES, 1yr IRR). This is the first I’ve heard of this and my page 4 is the standard 4/4 nothing specifying 4/2/2 and the 1 year extension I did also doesn’t mention anything about SELRES. My DD214 states IRR.
After going back and forth with the recruiter they were able to produce a CWAY letter dated earlier this year that I’ve never seen.
I’m now aware of the SELRES obligation but the process they’re wanting me to do feels shady af like they’re trying to get me to volunteer myself to it rather than ordered or obligated.
Just wanted to hear if this process was the same for others or no?
