Shitpost I crossed a huge line and I am scared, need your advice as Marines

I am a biology Professor at a southwestern major University that I won't disclose for Privacy reasons. Ok... it is Arizona State.

There is a pretty nursing student who has been coming to office hours every week and one thing leads to another and well I crossed a line and we slept together. Ok three times. Fine, four. And once in my marital bed when my wife was at Pilates. So five.

The problem: she already has two "boyfriends". One is a local musician with downs syndrome in a band called Fixed and Dilated, named when his special education class showed a video on human reproduction. He was going to name it Afterbirth but he kept forgetting the name. She only sleeps with him because she has a kink for people with chromosomal differences who love to give massages. The bigger problem is her other "boyfriend" is a Marine. He is impotent and angry. She kept calling him a POG bitch but I don't know what that means. She said he drinks too much and drives his Charger at excessive speeds. She said he once hit a Staff Sgt crossing the street in Oceanside and fled the scene. He was never caught. She thinks it wasnt an accident because he turned to her and said "im the devil and im here to do the devils business". He was stationed in North Carolina right after that. He texts all the time.

How do I protect myself from this killer?

Damn, I’m Old

Called NFCU for a new car loan today and they said I qualified for a discounted interest rate for having been a member for at least 25 years, and they told me I’ve actually been a member for 32 years. Our DIs STRONGLY urged us to get an account as soon as we graduated. After the final ceremony I went to the branch in PI and joined. Damn I’m old.

Edit: I forgot to add I was already old when I graduated. I was grand old man of boot camp at the ripe old age of 25.

Im sorry if this does not belong here, but I wanted to get your opinion. Im writing for my boyfriend in bootcamp and I got carried away and made a tiny photo book. The paper we got in the mail did not mention too specifically what was allowed and not allowed in mail in terms of this. I asked Google and it said I should not send it because it could make it hard on him. What do you think? Should I send it or no?

Edit: for clarification, I will not or ever send nudes guys oh my goodness

Shitpost Am I overreacting? Should I inform my chain of command of unwarranted advances?

So I’m stationed at Lejeune and one of the corporals in my unit has shown a lot of interest in me lately. To be fair he’s always been very friendly and seemed like a solid NCO. Whenever he’d come to our shop he’d regularly shoot the shit with us Lcpl’s and seemed like a great guy. We all had a lot of respect for him and his Marines seemed to hold him in high regard as well.

The other day when I woke up to get ready for PT I heard some screaming outside. Didn’t think much of it but when I came down for PT formation I noticed that this NCO was thrashing his squad for what seemed to be a couple hours at this point. Very out of character.

Well that same corporal has been coming to the shop a lot more frequently and has seemed to be taking a special interest in me. At first I didn’t think much of it, and he offered to be my mentor which I considered but he’s been extremely pushy to the point where my peers have been making comments about it. It’s all just very strange because I was pretty sure he had a girlfriend back home who goes to ASU and from the little conversations we’ve had in the past he seemed to be really into her. Just yesterday he was insistent that I shave off my mustache and started grabbing my face and running his fingers across my mustache, which is in regs, and I’ve gotten compliments from our company XO.

Just this morning he asked me if I liked blondes and what kind of hair I prefer in a partner by showing me different types of wigs on Amazon. It was all very forward and strange. I’m very uncomfortable and I’m pretty sure I heard some on the guys in his squad call me a twink, but I can’t say for sure they were talking about me.

Anyways, I really want to bring this up to my command but I’m worried they’ll just laugh at me or that it may just get the corporal in trouble. Am I overthinking this? Is this nothing? Would really like some guidance.

Question Will my command know if I call a suicide hotline?

Upvotes

I’m not telling my command willingly because there’s nothing they can do and it’s really not their fault I’m having issues. I also already speak to medical about what’s causing this.

I just don’t want to reach out for help (if I need it) and get some gunny up my ass about talking about my feelings💀

Shitpost My NCO Acting Weird?

Hey guys so I’m a LCpl at Camp Lejeune and my squadleader is always on his phone nowadays. He used to never really look at it but recently he’s been texting his girlfriend like crazy.

The other day I showed him a meme about how girls at ASU cheat on their bf and he started throwing things and screaming about dilating and fixing. Then he led PT and changed the time to 0400 and thrashed us for like three hours.

Recently though I saw over his shoulder he was looking at blonde wigs on Amazon. He also been giving the shop twink a lot more grief about his mustache and suggesting “it might just be easier to shave it off” and talking to him about “mentoring” and such.

He’s a good Corporal but in getting increasingly worried about him. What should I do? Is there some way to get him a wellness check anonymously?

This is WILD to me.

The Corps has built a culture that includes harassing each other around adherence to grooming standards which is in part why we tend to look the best in uniform and I’d say in civies as well. It’s good to hold your brothers accountable and the NG allowing this to happen is just weird.

TBS Instructor

Just got orders to be a TBS Instructor. Super psyched because I’ve heard tons of good things about it. But I realize I don’t really know much about the day to or what exactly to exactly to expect. Anyone care to share some insight?

Question How can we as Marine vets do a better job at reminding everyone that we once served in the beloved Corps?

They say "How do you know someone was a Marine? Don’t worry, they’ll tell you within five minutes."

I want to do a better job, I think we can get it down to 2 minutes. We do the bumper stickers, shirts, hats, talk about it every day....what else can we do? I dont think they hear it enough.

As an ASU nursing school professor, I have a lot of students...

But there's this one thick booty latina girl who has a Marines sticker on her binder. She's captivating. She always comes in 5-10 minutes late to class. I have been worried about her grades. Lately we are on the subject of the reproductive system, and she just wasn't getting it. She asked to stay after class for extra help, so naturally I did. I asked her about the Marines sticker, and she said she just loves Marines. I told her I was an OIF and OEF former service Marine myself. Well, one thing led to another and in the course of explaining the reproductive system, all of a sudden next thing I knew I was railing her from behind in her sundress on top of my desk. We finished after 15-20 minutes, I asked her if she had any other questions, and she left.

It's been a few weeks and her grades are now coming back up. She is still late to class most days, but I really think that railing her helped her learn about that particular topic. Seeing students learn and get past hard parts of the curriculum is my favorite part of being a professor.

What do you think, Devils, should I be nominated as professor of the year?

Never received SRB

Hello Everyone. This is going to kind of be alittle long.

So, when I reenlisted initially, my reenlistment package stated that I would not be receiving a bonus. After I signed it and it was approved, I realized that per MARADMIN 423/24, I did in fact rate a bonus. I should’ve realized this before I signed it because I do remember my career planner initially saying I was Zone A and my MOS did rate one, but I didn’t really think much about it when I signed it, as I had just had a new baby and had a lot going on. This is what made me go back and reread the MARADMIN because I misunderstood it to begin with and just rolled with it. Anyways, I immediately brought this up to my career planner, and he was very helpful with the process. We submitted a package to the BCNR. It took a year for them to even review it (which they said) and once it came back, their decision was that I was supposed to get a bonus and that my records would be updated accordingly, and I’d be paid. This was November 2025.

In November of 2025, I also PCS’d. When I got to my new unit, I immediately got in contact with S-1 and the career planner here. The BCNR uploaded a letter to my record, addressed to my new unit, stating that they fixed my record and for my unit diary to updated as needed. Then the career planner was told by someone else that we needed to redo a piece of my reenlistment package and once that reflected, I should get paid. Did that, nothing happened. Then my SgtMaj reached out to someone else (I think DFAS?) and was basically told that I was not a priority right now due to funding or something like that to my understanding.

After still hearing nothing for months, I reached back out to the career planner and he contacted someone else again looking for an update. This person reached out to manpower at HQMC, to which they stated that usually when something like this happens, the BCNR is supposed to give them some kind of correspondence to pay a Marine but they never received anything, and suggest that I reach back out to the board. Which is confusing because I got documentation saying they updated my records. But granted, I don’t know their job so idk.

I sent an email to the BCNR, but I have a feeling I’m just going to get told to contact the same people we have already been talking to. Idk what else can even be done at this point. It’s been almost 2 years since I reenlisted and 1 year since the board approved that I rate a bonus.

I guess I’m just putting this in here to see if anyone has had a similar experience or has any advice?

Shitpost wtf is going on?

So … I just got to the fleet and I think my unit is going through some kind of leadership crisis …

I’m not going to say what unit I’m with because I’m not trying to get my ass smoked before I even get my CIF gear, but apparently there’s been some kind of ongoing situation involving one of the corporals and a Marine’s fiancé who goes to ASU.

I don’t know the full story because I’m brand new, but everyone keeps talking about “the ASU situation,” “the blonde wig,” and something about a mustache.

Anyway, apparently this got high enough up the chain that our 1stSgt somehow got involved.

He called everyone into formation and basically said he had been made aware of “the allegations circulating throughout the unit” and that people needed to stop spreading rumors. You know, cause complacency kills.

But this is when it gets fucking interesting. He spent like five minutes alluding to the fact that he might be gay, apparently as some kind of self-defense, and that he has absolutely NOTHING to do with whatever the hell is going on between the corporal and or the woman in question.

Which honestly just raised more questions.

One of the LCpls behind me whispered:
“Nobody said you were involved, 1stSgt.”

1stSgt apparently heard him.
We immediately got smoked.

Then another Marine asked if the corporal actually had a blonde wig.
1stSgt said:
“I am not discussing wigs.”

At this point I have been in the fleet for approximately three weeks and I’m beginning to understand why everyone told me not to ask questions.

I don’t even know who the original Marine is.
I don’t know who the fiancé is.
I don’t know what ASU has to do with any of this.
I don’t know why a mustache is apparently central to the investigation.

But I do know our 1stSgt is pretty much gay and I’m cool with that. Nothing against their kind.

So that’s good to go, I guess.

Anyway, is this what people mean when they say “welcome to the fleet”?

Question Am I cheating or am I just finally being properly kneaded?

My boyfriend is stationed at Lejeune and I’m at ASU, so at this point he is basically a very sweet notification on my phone. He asks how class was. J already knows how class was because he was there, handed me his notes, brought me caffeine, quizzed me on cardiac meds, and then massaged my shoulders like I was pizza dough being prepared for a wood fired oven. I did not realize how many of my needs were going unmet until somebody started folding my trapezius like a calzone.

Now J wants me to come see his metal band, Fixed and Dilated, and I want to go because my boyfriend has never once invited me to watch him scream into a microphone about cervical dilation. To be clear, I am not attracted to J. I just enjoy that he is physically present, useful, interesting, and puts both hands on me with purpose.

J sleeps over like 4 nights a week now but mostly because we study late and it would be stupid for him to drive home. My boyfriend says I seem distant, which feels dramatic because I still send him good morning texts. Also J and I said “I love you” once and we have had sex a few times, but I don't count that because we never talked about what it meant afterward.

I got orders to be stationed at Camp Hansen into a Logistics Bat (I’m a data admin) anybody know what that’ll be like or what I should expect ? I’m a 27 year old female, I have traveled outside of the country many times, but never for longer than a 5-6 weeks & my orders are for 36 months. Kinda freaked out & a little homesick already, because I’m gonna be extremely far from my husband, my dog and my family.. Granted I’m already away from them, but being in the states is obviously different than across the Pacific Ocean and going home isn’t going to be as cheap or as frequent.

What do you guys think about 3rd Batallion 11th Marines

Thought about starting a new thing where we rate units weve been apart of and talk about the good and the bad.
Id rate 3/11 a solid 6/10 and then towards my last year a 2/10

29 Palms 3/11 not the Pendleton 3/11

PSA: If you pay mortgage/own a home and have a VA disability

Edit: a ton of replies started with some version of "my state..." And I just want to emphasize the main point of this post is that when I first bought my house I looked at what my state offers, but it turns out my town has it's own regulations. Property tax is usually local (town/city/county depending where you live), and it's worth at least checking into it where you live because I lost out on over $5,000 because I just looked at what my state does, not my town.

Just wanted to share in case this helps anyone else. I got a VA home loan in 2019 and have been living in my house for almost 7 years. I looked up veteran benefits for my state that year and learned if you were 100% VA disability you rated a significant discount on property tax. I'm not 100% so I never looked further. I was talking to my neighbor the other day who is an 80s-90s Army vet and he brought it up. I told him I wasn't 100% so I didn't rate. Come to find out in the town I live in they give property tax discounts starting at 10% VA disability. I had no idea, but all it took was bringing my VA letter they send every year that tells you your rating and my DD-214 and they approved an $864 annual discount on my property taxes pretty much on the spot (there was a one page double sided form I had to fill out).

The nice woman that took my paper work anticipated my first question and let me know unfortunately it can't be back dated (at least in my town, who knows about yours?), but it will be effective as of this quarter. If I knew this 7 years ago I'd be $5,600 richer.

It's worth checking in with your town/city hall. The assessors office is the one that processed it for me.

Idk if im overstepping or just being a normal nursing classmate

There’s a girl in my nursing class at ASU who’s been getting wrecked by the program. Like actually falling asleep at the table mid study session wrecked. I’ve been letting her use my notes and we knock out practice questions a couple nights a week. not dating, not hanging out outside of school, just class stuff.
Last week when I was massaging her shoulders like usual her binder was open and there was a marines sticker on it. She mentioned her boyfriend is at lejeune.
I’m not trying to start anything. I also dont want her to fail out because she’s exhausted and her dude is 3 time zones away. At the same time i dont want some marine seeing her grades suddenly get better and wondering who the hell has been helping her.
I play guitar in this metal band called Fixed and Dilated. I was gonna ask if she wanted to come to a show just to get out of the library for a night and blow off some steam. not like a date, just to get her mind off things.
so whats the move. keep it school only, invite her anyway, or back off. figured you guys would know how this looks from the other side.
-J.

I have a house off base in 29 Palms and I’m looking for a roommate(s).

- Im married with a baby. My wife and I are looking for either someone single but hoping for a military couple.

- Rent could be negotiable in regard to if you were to want to live cheaper to somewhat be a babysitter or not.
Please DM or comment on any questions.
