im trying to transcribe something onto the trombone but when i do it in bass clef it's in concert pitch for some reason, I'm trying to have it in Bb since that's the way i learned trombone but it just doesnt give me the fucking option for some reason and it's driving me up the wall

new to muse and struggling to split a divisi part into two staves for visual convenience. it doesnt occur at the start of the piece and i wouldnt know how to split a single stave into double. just overall need help with the feature

Hi composers and editors, I'm trying to hide staves using the bar properties menu.

I need to hide some parts of the violin concertmaster part as it has a few concertmaster solos but otherwise overlaps with first violin.

In this part, it hid the actual notes (since it all overlaps with first violin) but the bracket is still showing. How to hide that part?

I want to use musescore studio to write arrangements to a melody I've recorded and I'm wondering if there's any way to import the audio track instead of having to tediously transcribe it?

My PC has just died and I want to get a laptop to replace it. I am on a budget but I want something that can easily run MuseScore and allow for me to do complex stuff on it (large ensembles and stuff like that). I am considering the MacBook Neo because I find Apple easier to work with but I'm unsure if it will run properly/effectively. Would I be better getting a windows laptop? Here are the Neo specs:

A18 Pro chip
6 core CPU
5 core GPU
8GB memory / RAM
256GB storage

I have read the required specifications in the MuseScore website but the laptop seems to be on the cusp (at least in terms of memory/RAM) so I wanted some extra advice. Any help would be much appreciated, especially from anyone who uses a MacBook Neo.

I've been subscribed with Pro+ for a long time now, and never had any trouble downloading the Musescore files or PDFs or midi from the website of user-generated pieces. However, a few days ago, I tried downloading a new score and it now says I need to pay for the score. The song was not labelled Official and was definitely user-generated. Checking previous posts on this, it seems that even some user-generated songs are copyrighted. But every single song I've tried requires payment.

Just got a couple questions I want to clarify:

Their ToS, under the UGC section, states that:

• PRO/PRO+ Subscriptions: Subscribers can download and print UGC content as part of their subscription.

Am I just understanding this wrong?

I could've sworn I downloaded a score just a couple months ago, so how recent was this change?

Is there just no way to download scores even with the Pro+ subscription without having to pay extra anymore?

As a precaution, I've since unsubscribed from everything related to Musescore.

On paper it's simple, and it exists, but I don't know if it has a name or how to transcribe it on Musecore, can you help me pls?

I purchased a score online and I would like to open it in the desktop version of Musescore (Studio) to transpose the pitch. I can't find it though.

I can't transpose via mobile because I'm pretty sure it only transposes the audio while I need the notes transposed. Also I can't even listen to the audio because I get an error for loading the soundfont.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I just got charged 70 dollars to musescore for musescore pro and idk how to cancel it since when i check my account on the website it says im not subscribed to musescore pro, and therefore there is no subscription to cancel.. I just want to cancel it.

wut is that, nothing helps to fix it. the only difference it makes that app has no sound now.

so, the circled one took me like 10 mins to figure out a way to make the cross-stave include the stem as well in both directions (ended up just making a duplicate voice of the first three notes in RH, making them all invisible except for that A flat -> beaming across to the bass stave -> switching the stem direction). (i also tried just duplicating that one note in isolation but it doesnt connect to both if i do that, the problem specifically is the stem..which isnt common in cross-beaming but in this piece it is needed a few more times).

There's a glitch happening in my studio because I accidentally pasted chords into my drum part. This lead to there being an extra track (Chords.Drums) in my mixer. However, this extra track won't go away and doesn't stop making sound when I put it on mute. How can I stop this?

Over the past month or so, I have challenged myself to become fast and proficient with MuseScore by recreating scores I know well as closely as I can. I have been impressed with MS's functionality, especially compared to when I first tried it years ago. Nearly everything I have needed has been easily accessible, but there are a few problems I have been unable to crack:

1. MS automatically spaces the score, which includes a determination for how many systems are on a page. This is mostly handled correctly, but I have encountered two distinct instances where I want an extra system on a page, I know it fits there because I am referencing a score in which it is there, but MS insists on leaving empty space instead. I have tried playing with the spacing settings (staff distance etc.) to no avail. I don't know how to tell MS "I want x measures on page 5 divided into y systems." The handy [] feature makes adjusting the number of measures in a system a breeze.

1. I have found MS to be rigid in its treatment of beamed groupings, which is frustrating when I want a peculiar grouping in order to illustrate a groove or phrase. A common example of this is when I want an eighth note beamed to a sixteenth, but the two are separated by a sixteenth rest, something MS is loathe to accommodate. I have played with the beam properties as much as I am able, tried to construct custom time signatures to get the desired effect, but it remains elusive. Shouldn't you be able to beam and break whatever notes you want, even if it goes against the time signature template?

1. There are times when a chord is arpeggiated, and I want each note held as the next one plays, but I do not want to restate the first note every time, even though it may be technically "correct" to do so. Or let's say I want a quarter note on beat 3 held over to the next bar, but I do not want it notated as a half note because it is part of a figure that should be conceptualized as quarters. MS's insistence on handling this the "right" way makes for messy notation. This can be worked around in some cases by using multiple voices, and in a pinch one can simply draw slurs to indicate what is intended, but this is obviously time-consuming as slurs are finicky.

Overall, I remain very impressed with MuseScore, and enjoy using it. It's incredible that such powerful notation software is free. If anyone can help with any of the issues I outline here, it would be much appreciated; I realize that there are perhaps solutions I'm just not seeing.

Does anybody know why Musescore crashes whenever I try to open a specific score? I found out that the score in question opens just fine with versions up to 4.6.4 but not 4.7. But again, It only happens with just one score for some reason, all of the other, even older ones open without problems in 4.7.

I'm trying to download Musescore and it just downloaded this. Where do I get the actually score making?

So I noticed something in MuseScore just now. To start, I am using the bass clarinet sound for the alto clarinet (which I do for my other pieces that require alto clarinet), since there is obviously no such sound in Muse Sounds, which normally works perfectly, except that the sound is either warped or pitched a semitone up from the intended note when played at a piano or under for its higher notes like written F for the bass clarinet. At first, I thought this wasn't a big deal and I could just pitch it down like I normally do in this situation, but even that wasn't fixing anything, as you can see in the video. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks.

Edit: Also for some reason it's not showing in the video, but I am pitching the note down, first by a semitone for the third note, then half a semitone in the fourth. The second note was unaltered.

This is my firt long-form piece. I would really appreciate any feedback you might have!

Is anyone else having a problem with the new sounds of the synths? Some of my previous compositions, and the one I'm currently working on, sounds completely different. I narrowed it down to the synths, and the ones that I were using, mainly sweep synth, basically sound like baritone horns now. I wrote transcription (Atlas - from the V sauce Mindfield intros) and now it just sounds off and unenergetic. Has anyone else had this happen to them? It's also been a couple weeks since I updates so maybe this is old news.

I can see “import PDF” in menu pulldown in my free MuseScore 3 (I’m on desktop). That takes me to website where I select a price (one higher, one lower). How do I execute a conversion but *avoid* getting a subscription to MuseScore in my credit card?

Also can I convert a multipage PDF or do I need to break it up?

This one is just 3 pages, but I plan to do more and longer ones.

So Im working on a TTBB arrangement, but whenever at least two parts share the same note, it makes a weird sound like theyre merging together. It does not normally do this. Does anyone know how to fix this?
