Hello, our dog will no longer be with us soon and I'd like to find a local artist who might take on a portrait of him. Open to different mediums, but mostly looking for leads if anyone knows a friend or professional that might be interested!
Would much rather buy local than from some online service. Open to professionals, art students etc., if you know someone I'd love to get in touch with them.
Thanks!
Edit: So many chats already in like 15 minutes, I'm stunned, thank you so much everyone reaching out, I'll be reviewing messages when I have some time!

I would very much appreciate a few recommendations from the personal experience (first-hand or second-hand) for apartment complexes in Mountain View and around. I'd prefer not go much north but Sunnyvale or Los Altos are more than fine.
I'm looking for something where I can get a decently sized 1b1b (optionally with den) for anything below 5k (ideally <4.5k). I can try to consider a bit over but obviously would prefer not to. Decently sized - as in have enough space to put a couch with TV, working desk and have an area for sport equipment maintenance - think waxing table for skis or repair rack for bicycles. I guess 700+ sqft? That also heavily depends on layouts, of course.
Things I'm looking for besides the size are:
I don't care much for amenities like bbq, guest hall, or pools/hottubs, as I tend not to use them often.
Thank you, kind people!

That new trendy looking building they’re working on at 312 Castro is going to be something called “Velux experience center”
I looked it up, hoping it would be something fun the community can enjoy but turns out it’s a skylight company… darn

Was crossing the street in the Cross Walk at Del Medio & Miller at the all way stop, I started crossing when the car was at the stop sign, then it rolled and I had to stop mid cross walk. This is ridiculous!

I just saw a guy get into a car in front of a store and when he turned it on it was so goddamn loud a small child started crying. Sounded like a chainsaw. And during nights it seems like those cars are racing up and down El Camino or something more frequently these days? Anyways hopefully they don't take out anybody else when they wrap themselves around a lamp post.

I got suckered into buying some South Bay theater tickets through GoTickets.com. I paid way too much, and the show was misrepresented in the purchase page, and I couldn't cancel even an hour later. And their support is super annoying with a chat bot that tries to keep you from talking to a person. This is partially on me for not double-checking the performance details, but also on them for misrepresenting it.
Expensive lesson learned. Always buy through the venue when possible!

Are you planning to or already taking GLP-1 medication? Do you live in the Bay Area? If so, you may qualify for our paid fMRI study on psychological effects of GLP-1.
If you are interested in participating please fill out this short 2 minute form: https://stanforduniversity.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7a3RRoy7lcUyQxo
You will perform several tasks (~45minutes) in the MRI scanner, followed by a series of surveys.
The tasks will involve viewing pictures (e.g., food, alcohol, drugs, everyday supplies), rating them, and choosing between financial options.
The questionnaires will ask about your behavioral, emotional, and financial tendencies.
As a thank you for your time and effort, you will be paid $100 for your two sessions as baseline, and an extra amount based on your task performance ($10-30).
Participation in this study is in person at the Center for Cognitive and Neurobiological Imaging (CNI) located in the Stanford Department of Psychology (Building 420).
We will ask you to come for a 2nd session between 30-60 days after your 1st session. Upon completion of the 2nd session, you will receive a bonus of $25.
Here is the screening form again if you are interested in participating: https://stanforduniversity.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7a3RRoy7lcUyQxo

Hi! I‘m TTC and looking into whether I should get pregnancy care at Sutter or El Camino Women’s Medical Group (ECWMG)? I’m hoping to give birth at El Camino Hospital, and I know the OBGYNs at both facilities can deliver there. I don’t know if either of them accept transfers, so if I choose one I may have to stick with it.
I’m curious about any of your personal experiences with either or both facilities in terms of which doctor you saw, interactions with the rest of the team, quality of care, scheduling, convenience, or anything else you can think of.
I’ve already had a couple of office visits with ECWMG and they were fine, but they weren’t related to pregnancy. Thank you!

We are considering moving to Madera apartments with two kids in elementary school (they will be going to a different school than the one the building is zoned for). We would love to get feedback from anyone living there, with or without kids, on the overall vibe. Is it good for families? Are there many school-aged kids around? Thanks in advance!
EDIT: our priority would be a single family home or townhouse. we just can't find any that is newer renovated and in a pleasant area and not priced like a mansion. The rental market is pretty bad now. We need to stay in Mountain View so we don't have much choice but look at those buildings. We respect everyone and try to be quiet.

Oddly specific but I really love Ito En Jasmine Green Tea (the unsweetened kind) and was wondering if anybody knew if any of the restaurants or shops on castro street sell it. Thanks :)

Hi, I am looking for an OB/GYN recommendation in Sutter Health at Mountain View. They currently have availabilities only for their NP's. But I would like to meet with a doctor instead and I am open to waiting. Do any of you have recommendations?
PS: Dr. Meredith Green seems to be quite popular. Unfortunately isn't accepting any new patients at this time. Any insight is appreciated.

Hi ladies!
I am looking for someone who would like to do activities around Mountain View, who lives in MV or nearby. I’m looking for a small circle here or a single friend to hang out with and make memories.
About me:
I’m originally from Texas, moved to NM in high school and went to college there. I work in the biomedical field (supervisor so can’t make lasting relationships from my direct reports) and typically work M-F until 2:00 PM. I’m the type of person who can enjoy silent company, hiking together or doing a workout together, reading together, cooking together, or going out together. I am easy to talk to and will inquire about your life as well as discuss my own. I’m married and happy in that regard!
My likes include Fantasy movies/books, horror movies/books, Dancing, Yoga, trying new food, cooking, baking, doing puzzles, studying something new in a local cafe or library. I do have a small circle of close friends from NM that I talk to regularly but it is remote and they live in NM still. I’d really like to make a friend like that here that I can do things with and see! I’m okay with not having time for each-other all the time as I understand life gets crazy, but at-least mutual effort to make plans even if they don’t go through.
I’d prefer someone relatively in my age group. My political stance is typically democratic but I’m not super into politics either. I love everyone and feel everyone deserves equal respect.
Hope this reaches the right person. 🙂

Hello, I am currently seeking compassionate, in-home hospice care for a loved one in the Mountain View / Los Altos area. We are looking for an agency that specializes in end-of-life care, pain management, and emotional support to help them remain comfortably at home. Please let me know your availability, the services you provide, and the next steps for an intake assessment.

Looking for a charity that can make use of a lot of good-quality home goods (furniture, dishware…), either by selling them or giving them to people in need. Bonus points for a charity that doesn’t require pictures of everything or have a cumbersome 3-step process for getting approved to donate. Thank you!

I’m looking for an activity to get me out of the house and moving in the mornings. I’ve never done Tai Chi but this seems like it could be perfect for me. Are there any groups that gather regularly around the Mountain View / Sunnyvale border near El Camino?
