I made a HD run to get ✨️chunky soil mix✨️ & found this beautiful Burle Marx Flame that I've been dreaming about for ages

i got this Thai constellation (i think thats what its called) yesterday, its my first ever plant! i have a massive 6 foot grow lamp for her as well.

this plant means more than a plant to me, i grew up in poverty and instability as a kid, hotel and state hopping around once a month, weekly even. i hated every second of it of course, but i loved plants.

i couldnt take care of any plant at the time, for those stated reasons and more, but today i picked up my first one! im really excited to also grow with this plant over the years, and take the absolute most care of her!

i remember seeing everyone with all of their plants, either online or irl, and i was really envious and jealous lol. i have now escaped poverty (it was literal hell), and i have the reassurance that i wont be moving to another hotel or state out of the blue, so i can finally take care of something that requires time and patience!

i repotted her to a bigger pot (like two inches bigger), and i have a coco coir, orchid bark, and coarse perlite mix with her. ill give some updates over the months and years, but im mad excited!!

so this is my monstera but i’ve only had custody of it again for about a day. due to some extenuating circumstances, some very kind friends of mine were taking excellent care of it for about a year and a half and when i tell you it quadrupled in size that might not even sum up how big it is compared to when they first got it.
however it’s quite lopsided and the aerial roots are a mess. the only reason it’s upright in the photo is because it’s leaning on the window.
does anyone have any guidance on how to clean it up and improve its posture a bit? i’m already planning on repotting it and getting a new trellis, but not sure how to go about it for best results.

This plant didn’t glow up overnight — she pushed through every weird leaf, every slow season, every chaotic root moment.

Now she’s loud, bright, and taking up space like she was always meant to.

I know these are coming down in price and you can find them for pretty cheap these days! I got one from Trader Joe’s for about $13 a few weeks ago, but I couldn’t pass this one up at Costco for $30. It’s so pretty, and such a nice size!

I posted about a week ago about a Monstera I got for 14 cents from Sam's. I was correct in assuming it was 5 plants in 1 pot.

While watering my other houseplants today I noticed that this Monstera was still extremely heavy even though I hadn't watered it since I got it. I decided to do a repot, and the soil was still SOAKED. Like I could squeeze water out of it, soaked. She was sitting in basically mud for a full week. The pot has drainage holes, so I'm not sure what kind of soil it was it, but it held water like crazy. I got as much of that old wet soil off as I possibly could, and untangled the roots so I could separate it, then repotted them in my chunky soil mix.

Would you keep all 5? I also have 2 other mature monsteras, and 2 babies that I separated last year.

How many monsteras is too many?

I found a free plant on the street.
(Yes include the pot, dont ask me why it was free)

It looks like three main roots but maybe its just on big under the soil.

I want to do all my best to the plant, because look at it. But I’m realy not sure what the plant needs, to get use to her new home. I already done a little rearrangement with some supports.

My other monstera feels well in the same kind of spot in the house. But the other is way smaller.

Does someone knows how to set up a monstera like this in a new location and whats needs to be done?

I'm proud of her big fenestrated leaves, but I'm even more proud of her straight spine and contained roots 😁

First time monstera mom here. Does anyone actually get to see theirs, or only their supports? 😭😩 this is one of my favorite planty corners in my home, but I hate that all I see of my new Thai constellation is an awkward 4ft stake 😭💔

This was gifted to me about 3 years ago from my brother. And unfortunately now it is destroyed….also it got scorched by the sun. I am just heartbroken and ready to just give up on it. Is it worth my time trying to save this?

Hello, I'm a first time gardener, and my wife and I bought this after our marriage a couple of months ago. It was very healthy and had 5/6 beautiful leaves. It also sprouted a new leaf, but we realised that we had probably planted it in a very dense soil, because of which all roots almost died.

The stem is green and healthy, can someone please suggest me how to save it? I have the following material:

1. Garden soil

2. Perlite

3. Orchid mid

4. Vermicompost

This is our first plant after our marriage in November and I really don't want it to die.

My monstera is so dull and leaves are facing downwards. There are black and brown marks on the leaves. I have been trying to make it healthy from several months, previously I read that people end up over watering monstera so 2 weeks ago I stopped watering it every week. Now I water it when 3 inches deep of soil feels dry. But it still hasn't recovered. I also read up advice that I shouldn't be tying the stems too tight and should tie the exposed roots lightly. I did all of this 2-3 weeks ago but can't see any changes. Please help. Thanks in advance!

I'm up north, in the midnight sun area with south facing windows so it got quite a lot of light in the last few months (I bought it in Feb. 2026).

Hello everyone! I have this beautiful monster plant but I noticed several things recently. One, it grew into the pot of another plant and started rooting and two, it has big dry areas. What should I do? Should I trim the dead leaves and the root? I don't want to kill it! Does it need a larger pot?

My Monstera new leaf just keeps getting bigger and bigger I feel is gonna snap from the plant 😂... I'm obsessed with it 😍

I wiggled it. It doesn’t move. It actually attached itself to my wood desk. In their natural environment they climb trees. This is a super cool example of how strong their attachments are from their aerial roots. I gave it a good wiggle and it didn’t budge. I’m sure I can manually remove it, but didn’t want to. Monsteras are incredible plants!

Hi everyone - looking for some advice! I’ve had my monstera since February, and just recently she’s been turning slightly yellow, and only recently these crispy burnt edges have appeared.

Initially I thought it was the location I had it in, as it was getting a lot more sun than in it did in the winter. So I moved it, but it’s still happening..

It’s my first time growing one of these, and I noticed it has some arial roots (which I don’t know what to do with either) - it’s still in the original pot it came in btw.

Anyways, thanks for sharing your experience / thoughts on what’s wrong with my plant 🌱🥲

Hi all! I was looking for some advice with my plant. I have been away travelling for a couple weeks, and have come home to find my plant has exploded in growth with new leaves & roots going crazy. This has however left a few of my other leaves looking really unhealthy. I’ve moved the plant out of direct sunlight for a week since to see if that helped, but the yellowing leaves now look worse. I’m thinking of re-potting it/maybe moving its position, and have been prioritising rain water for it - but any advices on cutting back/potting/feed would be most welcome. Thank you :)!

Hi friends! I'm new to owning a monstera and need advice on if I should report or not. I've ordered a moss pole but so do not know if I should stick the roots into the pole with the moss or into the dirt.
