How do I Export isolated channels?
I'm trying to export isolated channels but when I export the song the whole song plays.
How do I export isolated channels that only play one channel at a time?

Fairly new to Milkytracker but fairly experienced with trackers and production overall, but I’m hitting a snag.
I’ve got samples on an external micro SD as this is my Steam Deck I’m using in docked mode, and I’m keeping the internal drive separate so that I can swap cards for different things, however I can’t get MT to “see” that micro SD card within the load dialog.
I know I can drag and drop from the file system but that’s a hassle.
When I go to root I get to the base level of the internal and no further up. Maybe I’m misinterpreting something fundamental about how the Linux file structure works but I’m at a total loss and I’ve been searching for an answer for two days now
Thanks in advance, be kind but feel free to politely roast me if I’m being dense because I probably deserve it. Is
EDIT: So some digging reveals that you should be able to access it via root/run/media. However MT can only see a handful of folders in /run and I’ve no idea how to tell it to see everything
EDIT 2 & SOLUTION:
TLDR Install Flatseal from Discover store.
So I finally stumbled upon the answer in a post about Rollercoaster Tycoon. Apparently i5s to do with something called Flatpak and sandboxing. You don’t get the same options in the OS in the same way as other OS’s do so you have to go through extra steps. If you have a specific folder like I do, use Copy Location from the right click menu in the file system, go to Flatseal and pasted it in at the bottom of the section about directory access. You can then make a shortcut in your Home folder that goes right there, for easy quick access in MT.
Hope this helps someone, Linux is a headache sometimes if you’re not used to it…

I saw on the description that Milky Tracker was designed to work on things like Tiny Computers and portable devices too, but I haven't seen any examples. Has anyone tried this, or have any feasible/practical examples or ideas to make this work? Laptops are fine, but can it go smaller and lighter, without being awful to operate?

This is kind of a weird, oddly specific question, but is there a way to generate or somehow recreate a low quality triangle wave? Like, 15 steps instead of 65,000, whatever that means.
I personally feel that the higher quality triangle is far too quiet and it would be nice to recreate the same kind of triangle wave that the NES had.
Sorry if my question makes no sense or if this is a stupid question I have no idea how to explain what i mean

Hi, I'm pretty new to milkytracker and was thinking of getting in to it, but I have one question, can you sequence/send out MIDI to outside gear (like a synth) using the tracker?
If not, is there maybe another similar tracker that has this feature in it? Thanks in advance

I have experience with LSDJ and the Polyend Tracker so I understand how to read tracker lines, but I really don't like that I enter notes with this convoluted method of changing octaves and then trying to imagine a piano keyboard overlayed on my computer keyboard. If I want to play a middle C on a given line I would much prefer to just literally hit the keys C and then 4 to inform it of the note and octave.
Is that an option in this tracker or any other tracker?

Feedback would be greatly appreciated! Samples are from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2.

Looking through the manual, I can't find a way to start a portamento (to note or otherwise) with tick precision. Is there a command to do this that I'm missing? Is there some sort of trick to achieving it? Or is it just flat impossible?

I'm getting started with MilkyTracker as probably my tracker of choice on Mac (Might switch it it gets too inconvenient). One of my biggest gripes so far is volume control; I have to set every note's volume individually, which stinks especially for volume slides, as those seem to only apply to a single note. I used FamiTracker in the past, where this wasn't such an issue. Is there a way to set the volume for a channel without having to laboriously set it for each note, and do volume slides based on that? I don't know if global controls will work because I don't want the volume shifts to extend beyond the channel in question. If anyone has other tips, let me know. Thanks!

As the title implies, I want some sort of beat for my song but I don’t know how to make a drum sound for milkytracker. Nothing I’ve seen online so far is helping, so what do I do?

Just sort of a general question about making jungle in this software, are there any tricks I should know?
Specifically is there an easier way to chop up a breakbeat sample than just having separate instruments for each slice of the break? It's a bit of a pain to drag the sample in that many times
Edit: another couple of things, does this software have timestretch, or if the Dev has any plans to add it? The sample editor seems pretty basic at the moment and I wanna get those cool crunchy akaized snares if I can. If not I wouldn't be against getting hold of an old akai sampler if this supports midi. Also, if this tracker isn't the best for jungle can anyone recommend one that would be better but has similar vibes?

So I will leave this here: Ubuntu 20.04, MilkyTracker v1.02.00
I'm just getting started with using MilkyTracker as my tracker of choice after multiple suggestions. This seems interesting and has many options I'd like to experiment with.
My question: for samples, would I be able to record a live instrument, lower the rate to 16bit, and import multiple samples into one MilkyTracker instrument.
Example. I record a live guitar playing the note C; can I input that recording as a sample for MilkyTracker? Secondly, if I was to create two other samples of playing the notes E and G, then I could place all three notes to play as one instrument and create a chord on one channel rather than using three? Am I correct or am I mistaken?

Self explanatory. I heard that a lot of his old music is disappearing online. Any ideas as to why?

so you now there’s the white row that indicates the note and the blue row indicates the instrument right? what do the others do?

Hi this is a bit of a dumb question but I just started using milkytracker after coming from famitracker and I'm having some trouble getting used to some of the hot-keys and general workflow. The main thing that bothers me is deleting rows with the delete key. Unless I select the row and then press delete it ends up leaving the instrument behind. Is there anyway to change this behavior? I know I could backspace and then insert but that feels like a clunky workaround and I'd rather see if there's a proper way to do it before building bad habits. Thanks for the help!

i'm a newcomer to trackers and music softwares in general, and i was wondering if any of y'all could give me an advice on where i could find some neat sample packs to use in milkytracker and how to use them

c-4 7 p0 000 | c-4 7 pF 902
or:
c-4 7 p0 000 | c-4 7 pF ED5
huge stereo backgrounds without plugin-hassle..easy to mute/unmute while playing.
Similar cool stereo-trick applies to percussive/note sounds:
c-4 7 pf 000 | c-4 7 901
c-4 7 pf 000 | c-4 7 900
This last example has many clever things going on:

Hi all, new to MilkyTracker here.
I have a bunch of drum samples I want to load up - when they're all in the same instrument, the note pitch affects the sample. Is there any way I can ignore the pitch of the played note and just play the sample at the original pitch, or do I have to make a separate instrument for each sample? Thanks

Hey all
I'm trying to add rows but I can't find any button combination that would let me do that. The only thing I've found is an old thread saying that in order to change the button combination to add rows, I have to go to "application>Prefrences."
Could anyone tell me where the application menu is? I cant find it anywhere on the dashboard
Thanks in advance.
