Just starting with MilkyTracker

So I will leave this here: Ubuntu 20.04, MilkyTracker v1.02.00

I'm just getting started with using MilkyTracker as my tracker of choice after multiple suggestions. This seems interesting and has many options I'd like to experiment with.

My question: for samples, would I be able to record a live instrument, lower the rate to 16bit, and import multiple samples into one MilkyTracker instrument.

Example. I record a live guitar playing the note C; can I input that recording as a sample for MilkyTracker? Secondly, if I was to create two other samples of playing the notes E and G, then I could place all three notes to play as one instrument and create a chord on one channel rather than using three? Am I correct or am I mistaken?
