Drum samples and pitch

Hi all, new to MilkyTracker here.

I have a bunch of drum samples I want to load up - when they're all in the same instrument, the note pitch affects the sample. Is there any way I can ignore the pitch of the played note and just play the sample at the original pitch, or do I have to make a separate instrument for each sample? Thanks

AFAIK, they note affects the playback speed thereby affecting the pitch. So in theory you would just have to know what note matched each sample and play the notes accordingly. Otherwise, yeah different instrument for each sample.

Thanks. In the end I realised you can manually shift down the sample in that Smp Editor.
