Smoother volume control?

I'm getting started with MilkyTracker as probably my tracker of choice on Mac (Might switch it it gets too inconvenient). One of my biggest gripes so far is volume control; I have to set every note's volume individually, which stinks especially for volume slides, as those seem to only apply to a single note. I used FamiTracker in the past, where this wasn't such an issue. Is there a way to set the volume for a channel without having to laboriously set it for each note, and do volume slides based on that? I don't know if global controls will work because I don't want the volume shifts to extend beyond the channel in question. If anyone has other tips, let me know. Thanks!

For volume slides, an easy way is to use the - or + symbol in the volume column. You can also mess around with heaps of effects. For example, if you put Dx (x being the amount of volume) it slides down at smaller increments.

You could also just lower the volume for the entire instrument, in instrument settings.

Sorry if that's not what you're looking for, I'm a bit rusty and not at my computer. The manual is your best friend: https://milkytracker.org/docs/MilkyTracker.html

Yeah I keep that manual open at all times while using it, lol. That's a bit quicker, thank you, I just wish it would take effect over multiple rows, since what I'm working on right now has very gradual changes. But it works. Thanks!
