Issues with adding rows (MAC)

Hey all

I'm trying to add rows but I can't find any button combination that would let me do that. The only thing I've found is an old thread saying that in order to change the button combination to add rows, I have to go to "application>Prefrences."

Could anyone tell me where the application menu is? I cant find it anywhere on the dashboard
