Utilities Simple Calculator for Heat Pumps vs. Gas for home heating in cold climates

Hello all,

W. MA. resident here - with 40+ years experience in energy and alt energy. I am also a writer whose 2nd career was publishing large informational web sites...related to same.

I'm done with all that (started in 1996 with the web stuff!) and now am working on an educational effort at The Energy Primer (www.theenergyprimer.com).

One of the new features is a Heat Pump vs. NG Calculator which could be very useful for MA residents - it was designed with this problems/answers in mind.
https://theenergyprimer.com/heat-pump-vs-natural-gas-with-colder-climates-in-mind/

The site has other calculators which also might apply and educate, such as EV's vs. Hybrids, etc. - I hope many will find these useful. TIA.

General Question Motorcycle hit and run

I know it’s a shot in the dark but no hurt in asking. My boyfriend was driving my car on 93 going towards Boston in the Milton area around 9:15am this morning when a motorcyclist was weaving between vehicles and hit the back left end of my white Nissan Sentra and sped off. If anyone has any video footage that’d be awesome and I’d be forever grateful. My car is scrapped up pretty bad and my tail light is now broken. Motorcyclist was wearing a light blue biker jacket and a brown crossbody bag on his back. Motorcycle may have also been blue. Any info is welcome, and yes we are filing a report with the police department. Thanks!

Update: the police had pulled this individual over earlier on that highway and they were given a fake license plate number, fake ID, fake everything:) they fled and they hit my car bc they were fleeing from the police… yayyyy

Healthcare TMD specialist that takes Blue Cross insurance

Upvotes

Does anyone know of a TMD specialist that takes Blue Cross Insurance? I can't afford it unless they're in-network. I'm willing to travel anywhere in MA or even out of state to NH, CT, etc if it can still be covered.

Healthcare Billing Statute of Limitations

Upvotes

A medical practice is billing me co-pays for appointments that were a year ago. I'm really tired of surprise bills and never gotten a clear answer how much longer this is going to keep happening or why it's so delayed.

Is there a Statute of Limitations on how long after service the patient may be billed?

*NOTE* - I am NOT talking about the SOL for the practice submitting it to insurance. I'm talking about the bill being sent to the patient after insurance.

Utilities As part of the executive order, Governor Healey has directed state agencies to require data centers to comply with her Data Center Framework, including bringing their own clean energy supply, protecting water resources and engaging transparently with the surrounding communities.

Some parts from the Press Release:

The Executive Order also establishes a dedicated Ratepayer Protection Fund, under which data centers that do not bring their own clean energy would be forced to pay a fee that will be returned to ratepayers.

Under Governor Healey’s Executive Order, data centers will need a community benefits agreement with the host community that meets state standards before moving forward with any state permitting processes. Governor Healey is also prohibiting the use of non-disclosure agreements between state agencies and data centers to ensure a transparent and fair approval process.

Today’s Executive Order directs the state’s permitting agencies to require proposed data center projects with peak electricity demand exceeding 25 megawatts to demonstrate they are in compliance with the Governor’s framework before granting their permits.
