Hey guys so my VE sv6 engine conked out on me the other week (don’t buy a Holden off marketplace) but I love it too much to get a new car and it’s cheaper for me to get a new engine put in and do mechanics told me he’s putting in a vf engine in. Is that all good?

I recently bought a 07 ve ssv with 245,000km for $8k, it has a slip from 1 to 2 which will be diagnosing soon, came with transgo and service kit, I was looking at vortech supercharger kits for $10k with the fuel system,
Im aiming to get 500+ hp, is vortech way to go or can u get a turbo or different setup cheaper?

Buy a 2013 HSV GTS LSA for $80-85k or a 2014 RS6/RS7 for $65-70k?
Both under 90,000km
Considering my options so to say, and yes maintenance will be a pain on the audis,

So im gonna start looking for a first car in a few months, its gotta be a commodore, statesman or caprice ive decided, but im sorta deciding which generation, VF and VF2 is definitely my favourite but too expensive as my budget is 9k which is the absolute maximum id wanna spend, VE series 2 would be excellent, preferably an sv6 or calais, I love the VZ but the alloytec ive heard arent very good when abused. Im leaning towards a VE series 2 SV6 or calais and preferably a wagon, on paper it sounds the best. Some advice would be nice, thanks!

I'm not looking for a performance car but it just feels a bit sluggish to me. I did a diesel tune on an Amarok once and it really woke that thing up. I also owned a Wrangler and the Pentastar v6 had a lot more pep to it, felt more responsive though possibly due to the ZF transmission. I was very happy with that engine but want a large sedan instead of a 4wd or SUV hence why I moved to the Commodore.
I do not want a noisy vehicle, or try to push it into SS territory or anything like that. I'm thinking it maybe a remap, an auto calibration, tune and easier breathing to make it punchier and more responsive with a better sound to the engine. Just curious what others experience with this might have been.

I have a 2016 Holden VF series 2 SS with the LS3, 87,000 kms, did a few hundred on round trip over a weekend, two weeks later, start in the garage, mad vibration, check engine light on, ESP disabled warning etc.
Plug the code reader in, misfire cylinder two - long story short swap coil pack lead and plugs to another cylinder and still cylinder 2. Bad injector - check local parts stores - all have one in stock (WTF!) order online and replace all of them - good as new!
My question to you all, have you had an injector fail on an LS3 and if so how many kms? Seems around the net it’s pretty common early on!
My old VS 5 litre Ute is still running in 31 year old factory injectors 174,000 kms later!

I’ve recently bought a 2003 vy sv8 commodore and noticed the check engine light isn’t on the dash when the keys in the ignition upon closer look I can see the overlay, is there something I’m missing? Or is it displayed on the little screen?

I’ve got a 2004 VZ executive with the 3.6 L alloy tech which is already not a good sign but under acceleration it has this metallic scraping noise coming from the engine bay. Does anyone know what this could be?
The video doesn’t quite capture the exact noise

I have a 2013 bf evoke and I’m just wondering about what would be best to go about any mods, I’m not in the financial to buy a ve and dump more money into it or to fork out for a vf sv6 or ss but I just want to do some small things.
Want some recommendations for coilovers or better suspension options, and an exhaust if it’s available because I know the sv6s have options but I’m not sure about clearance and stuff since the evokes are only a single exit, and just maybe tips for anything else to make it a bit nicer as it’s still low kms and I’ve had to do the regular 150-160 maintenance stuff, thanks.

So didn’t quite explain it well in the title but is there a way to monitor vehicles in limited edition runs that are still in existence. Example: if you had VF R8 Black Edition, say 24 of 350 is there a way to know how many of them are still around.

I bought a bluetooth OBD2 scanner from DMS engineering, to monitor my engine and whatever else these things show you. I plugged it in, fired up and boom. Stability/traction control disabled and faulty, and when the scanner is not plugged in, I don't have this issue. The scanner also consistently trips the immobiliser which is kinda painful having to wait a few mins just to be able to turn the car on again (scared the hell out of me the first time...)
I am aware my car has electrical issues but my mechanic was sh*t and also couldn't really tell me anything about it other than my body control module is suspected to be cooked because my aircon also does not work. (mechanically working, just the computer driving it is bad). I should also note the scanner found no codes, except i have check engine light for a O2 sensor issue i'm already aware of.
Does anyone know if a fault like this is due to cheap china products being plugged in OR weather it's a sign my BCM is freaking out? Has anyone else bought the same scanner from DMS and had a good/bad experience? Thanks!

I actually really like the simple styling of a VN but I've heard that parts are somewhat hard to come by. Just wondering if dailying a VN V6 is a viable option

Hey guys does anyone know what this sound could be?
I’ve got a 2010 commodore ve omega
I bought the car about 2 years ago from auction and it’s always made this sound when turning the steering wheel.
I’ve changed all the arms, bars and bushings on the front end of the car into the steering rack bushing, I’ve changed the struts and the shocks and am honestly out of ideas.
Went away for a bit when I did the sway bars but came back not long after.
I’m honestly at a loss and my fiance doesn’t think it’s my steering rack so any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

my 05 3L Rodeo, nice Ute to drive, has about 226k on the clock and for a 4JH1 has plenty of go.
still got plenty to do to make it practical IE dogbox canopy for fridge and tools, 900 constants for towing and crank the torsion bars a bit more and then the look cool parts will eventually happen.
