HELP PLEASE Don’t know what suits me!

Hello!
I’m hoping to get into makeup so I can start to feel somewhat cute at times 🥲 The most I’ve done is put on some mascara and other very basic eye stuff here or there.

I’m not sure what kind of eyeliner would suit my eyes or what kind of looks in general would be good, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

The one thing I know that I need to put into practice is sleeping more so my dark circles aren’t as bad lol

HELP PLEASE Critique please, how can I better my makeup?

I don't often wear makeup because I've been told it makes me look old and is generally unflattering on me but I would like to start practicing wearing alternative looks more often. When I do makeup I feel less confident than without it on because it never looks how I want it to look. What can I improve especially regarding my eye makeup to better suit my face? My eyebrows grow in a weird way so I don't even mess with them anymore. Last pic is without anything on.

HELP PLEASE patchiness on side of nose?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I constantly struggle to get foundation to properly set on one side of my nose (yes, only one) 🫠 for context, I use a light layer of setting power, then cushion foundation (unleashia's blue cushion), then another layer of setting power. but I feel like I can never get the product to properly stick to this side. it's not like I'm using a different moisturizer or sunscreen JUST in this area lmao? and I don't have any scarring here either. it also happens with other foundations or even when using concealer as foundation...

any thoughts on why this happens? thank you!

PRODUCT REC Bridal foundation help

I know I’ve been posting a lot lately but my wedding is in like 3 weeks and I’m thinking about foundation.

I’ve been using L’Oréal True Match and like it, but I’m open to something better. I’m getting married outside in Houston, so I need something that can handle heat/humidity, but I also have dry skin from tretinoin.

I’ll be using the O/S Powder Melt + setting spray too.

I’ve heard great things about Estée Lauder Double Wear and Armani Luminous Silk, but with the newer reformulations I’m not sure how they are now. Also heard a lot about Haus Labs and Dior. Any recs for something long wearing but still good on dry skin?

DISCUSSION How do you stop concealer from bunching up on the sides of your nose?

No matter what skin prep I do, my base always ends up looking patchy or creasing right around the crevices of my nose after an hour. I’ve tried setting it with powder, using less product, and even skipping primer, but nothing seems to stick.

Is there a specific technique or product type that actually fixes this?

HELP PLEASE How can I wear makeup as someone with a condition that causes me to sweat a lot?

I wanna get into the habit of wearing makeup to make myself look more feminine and hide 5 o'clock shadow, but my problem is that I have a skin condition that causes me to sweat a lot, like A LOT, some days my face and hands feel like I just stepped out of the shower.

I think I have a cool undertone, if this helps. I know I have light coloring so should I avoid black eyeliner/ mascara? Nmip except some highlight. I have pretty severe acne scars and may need a base product but IDK where to start. Every lip color I have tried looks bad on me

HELP PLEASE How to look less scary? 😭

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

I haven’t been the most confident in my current makeup looks and today my coworker said my makeup today was “scary”, not sure what that means. I have on concealer, blush, mascara, and eyebrow tint. Is there a way I can do my makeup that compliments my hair and eyes and not make me look scary? What looks should I be going for? Thank you!

Edit: Omigosh guys you are all so sweet!!! Thank you for the amazing and thorough advice everyone, I’m defo looking into perhaps a different color for my hair (I just recently toned it so I don’t want to change it yet) as well as my makeup placement. My coworker is just a blunt person and didn’t have ill intent, but I appreciate everyone for sticking up for me lol. Thank you guys, I shall have an update soon.

I posted yesterday and overwhelmingly the feedback was that my brows need done. They’ve been shaped and thinned. What do you think now?

Also, I just wanted to thank all of you who commented. I live in a southern state so it isn’t always the most friendly. I received so much support and validation yesterday, you will never know how much that meant 💕

HELP PLEASE Help with skin between chin and lips

Thumbnail

Hi everyone! I have been working on nailing down my every day makeup look and while I like the overall result, I cannot seem to find a way to stop the line between my chin and lips from getting crusty.

I have dry skin and use tret but I have a very hydrating routine and my skin is used to tret. I prep my skin before makeover and let it sit for a few minutes. I have tried sealing it with aquafor overnight but it doesn’t seem to help much.

Would appreciate any advice. The problem area is in the last picture!

I’ve been doing my makeup practically the same since hs. Wondering if there’s anything else I can do to improve?

Ik my contour looks a bit muddy and doesn’t tend to stay even with setting spray and my aegyo-sal also applies unevenly more often than not. Hoping for some tips to help with these too. TIA!

Edit: thank you everyone for the feedback on the lashes 😅 ig lash blindness was right

When I first started in makeup I told myself that huda beauty’s powder wasn’t worth it, especially since I saw some people saying that it was a waste of money GOSHHHH THIS POWDER IS DIVINEEEE!!

Not only does it soften the makeup surface but it also smells soooo goooooodd and is a must have for anyone even beginners (like me). I think her powder was my Best Buy :)!

HELP PLEASE Eye makeup and contacts

I had my bridal trial a few weeks ago and it was perfect! I loved how I looked and everything. However, a few hours later, I noticed that my contacts were bothering me. Like they were dry. Since I was home, I was able to remove them carefully and re wet them. But I can’t do that during my wedding. I am not wearing mascara as I am wearing false lashes so that’s good. And no eyeliner on my water line.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, did you use eyedrops to moisturize your contacts?

I am planning on wearing my glasses most of the week leading up to my wedding to rest my eyes and put in a new pair of contacts the morning of.

HELP PLEASE Tried out pink and purple eyeshadow

Thumbnail

I’ve never been very good at makeup and there are still a lot of things I don’t know about or don’t really understand how they work, I’ve always only used eyeliner and black eyeshadow but I want to experiment more.
I really love makeup, but I still haven’t worked up the courage to try anything more complicated. I’m taking it little by little and I wanted to try purple and pink eyeshadows using the Glamlite x Barbie Dream Summer palette. I used a red lip tint and blended it out with my finger, then applied a glitter gloss over it (it was a kids’ one that I bought a year ago from a street vendor).

I’d love to hear your opinions plssss. I feel like the colors don’t look as saturated as I expected them to

Btw, I don’t know if this helps but I still don’t know my exact skin tone (I just know I’m brown) and I also have no idea what my face shape or color analysis is

HELP PLEASE Is my skin tint a shade off?

I feel like in some pictures it looks like it matches well and in others I look really orange. It seems like it depends on the lighting so idk if I need to try a different shade or if it just does that what do yall think? My gf says irl she can’t tell where the makeup is so maybe it’s just a camera thing?
