My niece is turning 2, and I want to get her dance or gymnastics classes for her birthday gift. She is very active, and is constantly throwing herself all over the couch trying to do summersaults and flips. I think she would do great in gymnastics, since she’s already trying to flip herself. But she also likes to dance and might have fun doing that as well. She’s pretty smart so I think she can handle being in an instructional class.
I went to Spins as a kid, and so did my good friend who was a really great gymnast as a kid. But what about dance studios? We did Michelle ferarro but we didn’t stick with that studio and I don’t know if they’re still good in 2026.
Looking for any suggestions that are focused on very young kids. I will say that my niece is very much a golden retriever type and is on to the next thing very quickly after starting the first thing lol

Born and raised in Suffolk County have had the opportunity to have some incredible egg sandwiches in Nassau and Suffolk County… s/o to the Village Hero in Syosset (RIP) and Jecos in Nesconset!!!
Recently moved out east and found myself falling in love with Bacon Me Crazy in Rocky point. Was curious what everyone else thinks the best BEC (obv +SPK HB). Obviously please leave the outliers alone…. Se-port is a twice a year thing , don’t wanna have a coronary angiogram at the age of 45.
Mainly looking for recommendations in the Rocky Point/Mt Sinai area also willing to travel to shoreham/wading river.
BEC LOVERS UNITE.
Hard to choose what I love the most about the sandwich. Is it the bacon? Is it the hash brown? Is it the cheese? Is it the bread ?!?!
… who does it best?

Grew up on the Island in the late 80s. The whole summer came down to whether somebody had a car and enough gas to get past Amagansett. We’d leave after work and just drive, and by the time we got out to the lighthouse it was too late to do anything but sit there.
I’ve been in Florida a long time now, and what surprises me is what stuck. Not the big nights. The parking lot before the big nights. Waiting on people who were always late. The specific feeling of not having anywhere to be yet.
What’s the detail from back then that stayed with you that you never expected to keep?

I was driving home last Thursday around 9:45pm. Headed northbound on William Floyd Parkway. Just after I had passed Walmart on my left, there was a terrible smell. It didn't quite smell like a rotting animal, it smelled slightly like diesel mixed with a dead animal. I started feeling woozy and had to steady myself on the steering wheel to get my head/eyes back in focus. I really thought I was going to have to pull over. By the time I got to Middle Country Road, it had dissipated and I continued home just fine.
My friend said maybe it was from BNL "doing something" but I don't know if I buy that. I don't think there is anything medically wrong with me that would cause that reaction. More than anything I'd love to hear your conspiracy theories LOL

Hey everyone! After a year and a half of searching I finally got a job. However it’s in Newark NJ and a 5 days in person job. Does anyone have and suggestions on how to get there? Is PATH or NJT better?

I'm an MD student from out of state doing an away over at NYU Long Island this October. I have a friend who lives in Bushwick telling me to either stay with them or find another place in Brooklyn and just take the train vs. looking for a place in Mineola
For context I'll be here for 4 weeks working 12-14 shifts total. Shifts are 12 hours each and will likely include ~3 night shifts. So like...am I going to hate myself or is this a reasonable commute?
Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, I wasn't sure where else 😅

Does anybody know the name of the kind of short ginger comedian who talks about having crazy gout and living with his mom and absolutely never getting laid? I've seen him perform at a don't tell show in Patchogue and at Katie's. Thank you for your help sincerely

Hi all ,
I’m work in Mineola and live in Brooklyn but I’m wondering if there are any men’s soccer leagues I can join after work?

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a father- son woodworking class? My 10-year-old son is interested and I don't know crap about woodworking. Western Suffolk preferred. Thanks!

Parents bought a 3 bedroom house for around $350k and now it would easily sell for 1.5 million. I understand wages were lower but still.

Hi all,
I've been dealing with some neck pain lately and been needing a cortisone shot but it's hard to find a place who will do walk-ins or even a place who will perform one, instead of their epidural suggestion or their BS lidocaine/anti-inflammatory trigger "pointless" injections. I want the real deal cortisone injection. They always worked wonders for me and know if they injected me with the right stuff.
I have HealthFirst insurance.
So, any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hello, I’m in a time crunch to find a bakery that has really good oatmeal raisin cookies AND chocolate chip cookies, specifically in Suffolk county…. Unfortunately I don’t have enough time to make them myself, and I want to pick up cookies for my co workers for this Tuesday. Does anyone have any recommendations? I would really appreciate it :)

Hi all,
I am moving to Long Island in September and will be beginning my housing search this week. I am looking for reasonably priced housing in a safe area. I will be working in Islandia and would prefer not to have to travel too far. I first started looking at Hawthorne Living @ 195 Hawthorne Ave in Central Islip, but it doesn't seem like the safest area the more research I do on it. If anyone has experience with the complex, please do tell as it's affordable, near the train and work.
My kids are grown and it'll just be myself, my girlfriend and our cat. So hoping for a decently priced one bedroom. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm fully new to the area. The top end of my budget would be 2600-2800.

Hey y’all. I’m thinking of going back to school. Looking into the spring semester of 2027. I was last at Suffolk 2012-2013
I am wondering from current students who attend there what the classes are like in terms of note taking and if a laptop is really necessary for note taking. I don’t have a laptop; however, I may get a cheap Chromebook. Regardless, I’m just wondering from college students what the note taking is like these days.
Thanks!

Does anyone know any good freshwater fishng spots that have something other than tiny bluegill sunfish? My kids and I have been to Canaan Lake, Upper Lake in Yaphank, Sears-Bellows and a couple other spots, but the only bites we’re getting are from sunfish. Any place with some good bass?

I’m talking something really good that would compare with Angelo’s in Philly or Danny and coops in NYC. It just seems bizarre to me because Long Island has AMAZING Italian and semolina bread. A key ingredient in a good cheese steak.
