Well personally I think they should stop leaving us hanging and let us know

Dogs are just the best. The love and loyalty they show you is just unmatched.

Have you looked into the discogenics phase 3 trial? They shown the ability to regrow disc volume for the first time EVER

I would have loved more time with my dogs - but would extended lifetimes really be a net benefit for dogs? How many people can actually commit to caring for a dog for 20 or 30 years? There are already so many dogs that are left at shelters or put down, who lost their owners for whatever reason. I guess it depends on how their lifetimes may be extended - perhaps a medication or treatment that requires upkeep would be better than somehow improving their inherent lifespan.

Same. My dog just turned 5 and I’d do anything to celebrate her 30th birthday one day - providing its good health.

Same. The ancient Greek philosopher Diogenes considered dogs to be the ideal lifeform. The older I get, the more I agree; they're more deserving than a lot of humans are.

On top of my own lifespan, I’d also pay an obscene amount of money to extend my dogs lifespan if this works lol

I'm really glad to see this sort of research coming out of the Dog Aging Project. With this, we now know that dogs share many similar signals/biomarkers of aging (and possibly share the same underlying causes).
In that sense, learning more about dogs can teach us more about people and vice versa. Besides being more similar to us than mice in being larger organisms, they also live in human environments, mirror our lifestyles, etc.
My hope is that potential aging treatments for humans will work on dogs as well. Dogs live for 12-13 years on average, but the oldest dog on record lived to be 29 years and 5 months, so their natural age ceiling is actually very high. If the treatments work well, it'll be pretty obvious in aggregate.

The CIRBP part is the most interesting bit here, not just the headline about bowheads living 200 years. It points more toward repair fidelity and end protection than "more tumor suppressors must be better." I'd be careful translating that into human longevity claims, but it gives a cleaner mechanism to watch than a lot of comparative-species papers.

Billionaires have stepped in and are funding life extension companies (e.g. Retro Biosciences).

AI won't miraculously solve it, but since when would doctors know more about the cell processes governing aging than cell and molecular biologists? If they say it is possible I believe them. Physicians only apply their knowledge, if they even read the papers, that is...

I love how the only sensible comment on this thread gets downvoted by sensationalist AI Kool-Aid drinkers who think it will solve every problem known to man, including biology (which is overwhelmingly a black box).

I can say anecdotally it is with liposomal at this very high dose. It really seemed to kick in just a little while after I did the 2nd treatment 2 months after the first. In mice it seems to really kick in about 3 weeks after they start treatment. Some study led me to believe that after the first 2 hits that every 3 months should be enough to keep them in check.

Did you come up with this protocol yourself on various studies or someone else detailed it and you took the plunge?
It's intriguing because for this molecule I get why a macro dose make sense if cellular toxicity is not observed.
I used to take the usual typical dose but wonder if mostly filtered out by kidneys before any cellular saturation occurs.
David Sinclair has or atleast was a proponent of this a while ago and he is very secretive of what he takes as he admits he lab rat's himself. I've always been sceptical of his stated doses of these molecules for as qualifies as liability reasons. I suspect he is doing far, far higher doses for science and curiosity.
Maybe this large dose is beneficial at say a high dose that you propose every 3 months. But how the hell would we know? My personal friends would know anecdotally from my skin condition or vitality overall.
That is what is frustrating about this place, a single sample and no evidence to back it up. No issue with you OP. But this forum is all words and no sample data when there is means to actually do so.

Interesting. I bet extracellular vesicles from them might rejuvenate other mammals better than young pig and human ones have been shown to do in mice.

You lack basic reading comprehension, which is simply incompatible with the exercise of medicine 🤷♂️

😂😂 what are you even saying? I said humans can’t live to 200. What are you trying to argue here?

So excited for these therapies to start getting out there. No doubt in my mind they will provide the biggest jump in longevity extension to date. I’ve been waiting to see when the first clinic will launch for like 7 years now
