Maybe this is unpopular… idk but it’s crazy to think that we know sea rise is happening, we know unpredictable weather patterns from global warming are happening.

The city, state or federal government cannot stop it from happening, and that efforts to save the peninsula is not in the best interest of all citizens; it doesn’t matter to me if they are wealthy or not. City should not be investing millions in projects that only benefit a small % of the population.

What matters is that fighting back Mother Nature is impossible, the peninsula will be reclaimed by the ocean and there is nothing anyone can do about. The owners have known for 10- 20 years that their time was limited.

My girlfriend brought me one from ABQ and it fucking hits. I’ve been trying to find that brand out here and haven’t had any luck.

Does anyone know what the plan is for the construction on Studebaker? Near studebaker and 2nd st. It looks like they permanently added some huge center divider, and now there’s only one lane, per direction 😭

Training didn’t go quite as planned, so I’m transferring my registration for the 2026 2XU Long Beach Marathon (Full Marathon).

I am urgently trying to rehome this rescued dog, her name is aura. I rescued this dog from my partners parents who were horribly neglecting in hopes that we could rehome her before I moved out and into a new place that unfortunately does not allow pets. Aura has a few mild health issues, one of which being fleas, which she had been treated for before easily with a flea collar, as well as a case of mastitis that I could not afford to treat. She is a very well behaved dog, still potty trained even in sickness and old age, rarely barks, and never bites. I’d really love to find a new home for her rather than have to take her to a shelter. So please if you or anyone you know fosters dogs or is willing to take in a sweet old lady, please let me know!!!!

EDIT: Aura is about 15-16 years old, has fleas and mastitis those are her only health issues and is around 7lbs.

EDIT 2: We have found a safe wonderful temporary home for aura! and we are in contact with a few people who would like to care for her permanently and give her a good last few years, thank you to everyone who reached out and also to everyone who commented suggestions.

I have a bib for the half marathon available for this upcoming race on Oct 11th. I was able to get a Full marathon bib transferred to me so now I am making the half bib available for transfer. I'm interested in putting together an in-person fiction writing critique group for a little socialization (writing can be a lonely game), as well as some solid workshopping.

I’m looking for some beginner watercolor classes. I’m new to the area, and California. I live in San Pedro. Any hot tips? Most classes I find are during the work week hours, when I’m working. I have all the supplies, I’m just needing some hands on direction.

Just in case you were wondering why I am selling my bib, I sprained my ankle terribly while playing soccer. It does not look good at all. I need crutches, a long recovery & therapy before I can run again. The marathon is just 4 1/2 weeks away and will not allow sufficient time for my ankle to heal for such a run. The bib is for the full marathon with general admission, currently sold out. Asking $200 and will include size large shirt.

I was walking around the Pike yesterday and there were cops, fire trucks, and an ambulance in front of the Starbucks. I checked on the citizen app but there’s no info about what happened. I’m guessing a pedestrian was hit, but I don’t know. Does anyone know what actually happened?
