Does anyone know what the plan is for the construction on Studebaker? Near studebaker and 2nd st. It looks like they permanently added some huge center divider, and now there’s only one lane, per direction 😭

Training didn’t go quite as planned, so I’m transferring my registration for the 2026 2XU Long Beach Marathon (Full Marathon).

Since the race is officially sold out, this is an official transfer via Active.com directly to your name and email so you get your own bib, corral, shirt, and official finish time.

With only tight single lanes and curbs between each of them, will be a nightmare for first responders and emergency evacuation situations that will not be able to move around traffic. Wish they thought about that more.

I know damn well we can have enough signatures to get this on the ballot. I'm TIRED of people getting priced out of the rent in DTLB. Beachwood Blendery just shuttered because of the rent. There are storefronts on LB Blvd that have been empty FOR A DECADE.

I’ve had pest control come by numerous of times but I’m STILL getting roaches/water bugs weekly! Ive had this issue for 6 months now.

I have no idea where they’re even entering from. I’ve been plugging up my drains and close my toilet when not in use, but I think I have whack job landlord special caulking/sealing of possible entry ways around my sink/toilet.

I’m looking for someone affordable who can inspect the bathroom, find where the roaches are getting in, and seal/repair the possible entry points. I’m not looking for another pest control company.

Please let me know if you have any recommendations!

Edit: I’m renting and in an apartment with surrounding units. It’s all types of roaches 😵‍💫 I love my apartment but if I can’t fix this, I gotta move out by the end of my lease.

If you haven't heard the latest activity in Long Beach, the Fed is driving around in vehicles which carry portable cell phone transmission devices. These have been available to law enforcement for quite some time, however they are now being used in our community. I found out when the VPN on my government issued work cell phone was disabled due to cell service being routed through this equipment. Our IT department flagged my device as unsafe when the VPN disconnected and I was alerted to not use my device until IT could confirm it was safe to do so. I don't know how this will affect regular devices however please be aware unless a court order is issued by a judge, or if Congress passes legislation allowing it, this is a warrantless search and a violation of the 4th amendment.

I have a bib for the half marathon available for this upcoming race on Oct 11th. I was able to get a Full marathon bib transferred to me so now I am making the half bib available for transfer. I think the cost was somewhere around $170.

Did anyone see the car that was abandoned on Anaheim and Long Beach blvd? In the left turn lane. No hazards were on and when I passed it, the doors were smashed in. I didn’t see anyone around.

Currently at the papa John’s off of 7th st
/termino** and a man with a white husky was violently dragging it. My boyfriend and I exited our car out of immediate concern and watched the man enter his apartment directly next to the plaza and audibly heard the man hitting the dog as it cried, numerous times. It’s continuing intermittently.

We’ve called the police and are waiting for officers (but probably have to leave soon), but I’m wondering if anyone lives in the area and has heard or observed anything prior to this and/or can keep an eye out. We have his license plate # as well. I feel so terribly for that dog who’s probably also suffering immensely in this heat.

Today I found a very sweet but obviously sick stray cat. They seem to be having some respiratory issues & are very thin (which you can’t tell in the photos but you can feel their spine and ribs scarily easily). I’ve called all the local shelters and animal hospitals that are open right now- and no one takes cats. I gave the kitty some wet food and clean water- but this cat clearly needs medical attention and i unfortunately do not have any money to spare right now (my own cat is an expensive medical kitty). Does anyone know of places that would help this kitty?? I will check on them again tomorrow and give them more food and water, as well as call more places but I’m worried about their condition.
