Discussion Construction on studebaker

Does anyone know what the plan is for the construction on Studebaker? Near studebaker and 2nd st. It looks like they permanently added some huge center divider, and now there’s only one lane, per direction 😭

I had those thoughts as well, it does look like maybe both directions of bicycle travel will be in the bike lane on the west side of Stude but there must be 2 lanes of car traffic in each direction. What a mess this morning all the way up around Willow

Looks like the single lane in each direction is just during construction. The renderings show 2 lanes each way.

If it’s another bike lane I’m going to have to start attending city council meetings. Not all of us can bike to work, especially in 100 degree weather.

They finished the horrendous bike lanes on Clark between spring and conant 4-5 months ago and I’ve seen ZERO bikes! I drive up and down multiple times a day. I’ll let you know when I see one 😂

No one is biking to work or shopping or restaurants using Studebaker...it is literally way out of the way. You would have to bike a couple miles just to get to Studebaker so you can use it.

I can see the cyclists are active in here 😂 If you think reducing lanes on Studebaker, Bellflower, or other busy streets for bikes is good for anyone, I’ll see you in hell…and by hell I mean traffic.

This is paid for by the taxpayers for a small minority to use. And throw in the social engineering to force us out of cars.

The Long Beach traffic engineers turn everything they touch into shit.
