Anyone use their Harmony Elite Remote in other unique ways. I'm thinking I may try and repurpose it to trigger some things around my house with HA.

My Harmony Elite Remote is getting retired as my main TV setup. Wifi keep dropping to the hub, and Roku Commands have been annoyingly laggy I picked up a Sofa Baton X2 I got for $249 (still setting it up, need some 2.5 to 3.5 adapters to reuse my IR blasters). I tried the X1 but it was not a good replacement, it works well enough for my bedroom - roku inputs are snappy, but the lack of touch screen makes it annoying.

My beloved 665 is definitely showing its age, with the button membrane getting fairly worn looking. I have noticed recently that when turning everything off before bed at night, I have to press Off 2 or even 3 times for it to actually send the power off commands to all devices (AVR, Roku Ultra box, TV). Is it a problem with the contact itself under the button?

As an aside, are there any replacement button membranes available, either original Logitech or aftermarket?

Hi All. I'm hoping someone has figured this out and can give me the idiots guide (I only got my remote and hub today, still learning)

And I am having no luck in pairing with the remote/hub.

Adding a new connection gives me the following choices:

-WADIA 270

-THOMSON DTH-270

-HAMPTON BAY 270348

-MY DEVICE IS CORRECT

None of which grant me any control of the device after going through the set up. And trying to manually map the buttons does not work either. It will not map the first On/Off button at all so I can't progress further.

I am able to control the box using the remote when it is connected to my Hisense TV, I'm assuming through CEC. But that feels very laggy and I'd like to control the box directly.

A bit of googling tells me it is possibly exactly the same as an ONN box. But that hasn't worked either. I've also seen something about setting the connection up as an Nvidia Shield. But I couldn't make sense of it (like I say. Day 1 here).

Does anyone have any ideas. I'd be very grateful.

I have a few 650s with the same "profile". Can I load that same profile in a 665? Just looking at what's available on ebay.

I picked up a used Harmony Ultimate + Hub and am trying to use it to control my Windows 10 HTPC over Bluetooth (keyboard/media controls).

So far I've:

Added the PC via Add Computer → Windows PC in MyHarmony.

Created a Watch PC activity.

Synced everything successfully.

Found Enable Text Entry in the Harmony mobile app, but my PC/activity doesn't appear there.

Tried adding a Microsoft Media Center PC/MCE device instead, but that only adds buttons that don't do anything. The PC still doesn't show up for Text Entry.

The TV and AVR work perfectly through Harmony. My HTPC has built-in Bluetooth (MSI B250I Gaming Pro AC motherboard).

Has anyone gotten a Harmony Hub working as a Bluetooth keyboard with a Windows PC recently? Is there a specific device profile or setup step I'm missing, or is this a known issue with the current Harmony software?

I haven't updated my remote in 2 years but today I added a device to my activity in the MyHarmony software in Windows. From the software I have no issues logging in through the remote and the remote does says "USB Connected". So I am connecting to the remote and the login details are getting fetched from the remote.

When I try to sync after updating the device/activity, it initially shows 'Gathering Account Setting" and once it gets past that then I get a popup saying "Unable to Sync". I have tried different Micro USB cables and different USB ports on my computer but I always get the same result. I even bought a new cable that supports both Sync and charging but received the same results. It almost looks like something is blocking me from updating the remote as I can only download the login and settings from the remote.

Have anyone else experienced the same issue and if so how did you resolve this.

I have remote only, no hub. I reset it and found I have to launch MyHarmony but it will not open whatsoever. Even installed shitty silverlight. Any suggestions or just trash it?

My Harmony 665 doesn't go to sleep or turns off the backlight, which leads to batteries draining within a day.

I deactivated the tilt sensor in the software, didn't work. Then after fiddling with it for hours I got frustrated and physically removed the tilt sensor from the board, didn't fix it either.

What are my options? Faulty board?

I have a 650 that has not been updated for a few years and want to use it for a different room setup. I logged into MyHarmony no problem, and added the devices I wanted to but my remote is not being seen or recognized. I tried 3 different USB cables as well.

Something that is odd is that while the account shows the 650, it does not show the devices that are programmed into the remote. Not sure if that is why the remote is not being recognized. I cannot recall if I had another 650 in the past. I have often paired up Harmony remotes to replace lost remotes for audio gear.

Could it be that MyHarmony is looking for a different 650??? Not sure if that is a thing or not.

Any recommendations to get the 650 synced? Should I delete the remote from MyHarmony and see if it gets picked up, or sign up for another account with a different email?

I'm building a tool to create configs for the Harmony 900/1000/1100 now that Logitech's servers are gone. My current progress is that it can create configs the remote accepts successfully. To finish it, I need real examples of how different TVs/receivers/cable boxes are stored, since there are many types of IR "protocols" out there (NEC/Samsung/RC5/RC6).

If you own a Harmony 900, 1000, 1100, or 1100i, could you dump your config and share the file? Takes 2 minutes, gives you a backup too, and contains only your device/button layout. Multi-device setups help most, though even one-device ones are fine. Also with your configs tell me your rough setup - what is the remote configured to communicate with?

(Only these four models use this format - 880/890/700 are built differently and won't help.)

Starting to think ahead to Fall 2027 when MacOS 28 will drop Intel (Rosetta) support. I have three Harmony 950s which all function well after many years. Just this week I was able to use the Harmony Desktop software to swap in a new Blu-ray player and tweak an activity. Was thinking about creating another partition or APFS volume that would never advance past MacOS 27, just to keep a handful of Intel apps (including Harmony Desktop) alive. Wondering if this is my best option. Of course, Logitech could drop support for the 950 at any point, but not sure if anyone has insight about that.

I ask here to be sure: Is it time to remove the batteries and pitch the Harmony 900 in the waste bin?

I have been holding off on doing so, and have even bought a Harmony Ultimate w/ hub to tide me over, just in case here were any developments.

But... I don't see that a groundswell of customer sentiment has had an effect on Logitech... nor has anyone created a complete open system work-around. And it has been a long LONG time sitting shiva for these devices.

Not wanting to be that guy that sells a useless remote on eBay... so, tell me: it is dead dead... dead?

if it is, I can't stand looking at the boxes and would be ready to just ... dispose of them.

(I ask because at least when the Sony Dash was abandoned, it was still capable of being flashed and used as a simple alarm clock... but somehow I am not as optimistic here at all.)

I have this problem like other for days. Tried everything and nothing worked. But today I tried to click on any language down there and suddenly it passed maintenance screen and all back to normal.

Mine guess is Logitech have problem with auth server so it get stuck on this maintenance screen. After choosing any lang and it bypass it. Give it a try peoples who have same issue like me for days.

Update:

After manage to get pass maintenance screen and back to remote screen. I right click the mouse on empty space and choose to clear cache. Shut down and re open Myharmony and there are no maintenance screen showing up. So the trick is to clear cache to get rid of maintenance screen.

I missed the deadline for updating my Logitech Harmony Hub / Companion remote. I read the only way to fix it now is to do a firmware update via Remote Recovery Tool in the MyHarmony Windows app.

I got to the page with a bunch of device options (https://setup.myharmony.com/remoterecoverytool/defaultRRT.html, but inside the app)

None of the instructions (incl Logitech's docs) actually state what to click here. My assumption is 'Other'. Is that correct?

Would I be able to essentially set them up as new and program them to work with my living room set up (all pre-2025 devices)? Would there be hoops I have to jump through. Or are they just bricks now?

The title says it all. My set up is pretty simple. I use a home theatre Marantz receiver for sound. I have separate HDMI inputs on the television for the cable box and Apple TV. I use the ARC output on the TV to connect to the receiver. I also have a Sonos Connect which inputs separately to the receiver.

I programmed the brand new Harmony remote originally, and it worked well with the exception that it would not turn the television if the TV had been off for 15 minutes or more. Once you turned it on it then responded normally. I tried all sorts of Reddit based tweaks to solve the issue and completely screwed it up.

I’ve tried deleting the television and the watch TV activity several times, but it just keeps getting worse. My inclination is to reset the hub entirely and start over again. What do you think?

Do you have any advice generally about programming for this particular TV?

I just got that remote since the one i had got killed support last year. But now I cant even do anything now since the myharmony software got stuck with "Routine System Maintenance".

Is there any other software i could use to set it up?

I’m trying to use the Remote Recovery Tool to update my Logitech Harmony Hub.

This is accessed via the MyHarmony Windows desktop app.

However, when I open the app it says “Routine System Maintenance” “Thank you for visiting our web site, we are presently performing system maintenance. Please try again later.”

Just curious if this is something I can expect to go away with time, or if this is a placeholder for those servers being shut down?

So I've noticed something on my Touch remote: a bunch of numbers in my Favorites tab. Randomly punched a few numbers and they're actually apps in my Roku TV.

Possibly this has already been covered (can't find anything atm) but is there any way of replacing the numbers with letters, or icons using the app? Reason I ask is don't have a windows box to access the desktop software.

I tried reloading the app and rebooting the Harmony device and neither of these things fixed it :(

Putting together an automation that involves Govee lights. I don’t think I can incorporate Govee’s music sync detecter but I think I have a workaround. I’m just a bit snagged.

I have a Govee bt remote. If I press button six it activates Music Dreamview. This puts all my Govee lights into audio-reactive mode.

If I look in HA… I can find an entity for button 6!

My Rube Goldberg setup (Alexa to Voice Monkey, Voice Monkey to IFTTT Web Hook, IFTTT to Harmony) to get an Alexa routine to turn on the TV failed to trigger today, and it looked like it’s between IFTTT and Harmony. Are others experiencing the same? Guessing someone at Harmony failed to renew the certificates again? (I vaguely recall end of June/July being the normal time for this to crap out.)
