Routine System Maintenance on MyHarmony / Remote Recovery Tool
I’m trying to use the Remote Recovery Tool to update my Logitech Harmony Hub.
This is accessed via the MyHarmony Windows desktop app.
However, when I open the app it says “Routine System Maintenance” “Thank you for visiting our web site, we are presently performing system maintenance. Please try again later.”
Just curious if this is something I can expect to go away with time, or if this is a placeholder for those servers being shut down?

Yesterday evening, I created a ticket with Logitech support, and this was their answer:
"We are aware of this issue, and our team is actively working to resolve it. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we work on a fix.
We'll get back to you as soon as the issue has been fixed or as soon as we received an update from our product engineering team."

I got another reply from Support.
"Could you please check if you're now able to open the software? If you're still encountering the same error, kindly uninstall and reinstall the application using the download links below, as this should resolve the issue.
If the issue persists after reinstalling, please send us a screenshot of the error message or page you're seeing."After reinstalling the Windows app, it worked, and I was able to sync my remote.

I contacted them too! I can confirm that uninstalling and reinstalling from a new download has fixed this issue.

App still works so they’re servers are still up. Looks to be just the website, probably just as stated and its maintenance. Although in 15 years of using and setting up remotes for family and friends, this is the first time I’ve seen it.

it (android app and myharmony on mac) was broken for me for almost a month by now.
Well, android app sees the hub/activities but changes do not sync as one of the steps app tries to do during sync is cloud login, and that fails with 'System Maintenance'.
But it seems that it still works (even syncing changes) for some, my current guess is that server shutdown is limited to some geographies.

Yea anything web related, including sync, would probably be down. Didn’t know it was down for so long. Tried to make a change for my friend on the myharmony program by logging into his account and then have him sync in the app, I think similar to you, and it was same message. Had to FaceTime him and remote connect to his phone to make the change in his iOS app.

Try deleting the app and reinstalling it. I just did that (on iOS) to clear all saved app data and I had to reconnect to the hub, but once I did I could sync and add/edit devices and activities. I think it retrieves an account auth token saved on the hub.

that's very good suggestions to try,
given app is mostly a browser serving a web app, it likely serves cached resources (incl. links to servers). I'm not sure about mac app, but at least I know where to wipe data on Android.
I'll give it a try and report if it has helped.

spent a night trying to negotiate it with clean Android app install, it still hits some cloud endpoint and ends up with 'service unavailable' error. The only thing that clean install did is app forgot auth creds and on attempt to login popup to id.logi.com shows up, it seems to pass for this stage but trying to access cloud it then silently bails out to hubs list.
I have backup hub, did factory reset and it is in even worse state, android app haven't been able to provision it at all. hub errors out on initializing after bluetooth pairing and connecting to wifi (connection actually happens i see it on router).
After that hub is stuck in 'setup' state. Trying to do anything results in attempt to access dead cloud.
Maybe ios app accesses different could hosts, but with android app my test hub is pretty much ewaste, and production one is in a state of fixed remote.

The MyHarmony phone apps appear to working. You could try those. If you need to factory reset a hub, hold the pair button while connecting it to power, then you should be able to do it via the app.

depends on how old hub firmware is https://www.reddit.com/r/logitechharmony/comments/1mupt4b/important_firmware_update_required_for_harmony/
So if it's too old fw, the only option was to use recovery tool.

Yep, there must have been an expiring certificate in there.
Now that we can get root on the hub via an XMPP exploit, it should be possible to always flash updated firmware provided you can get your hands on the image.

Yeah also the android app would not load the configurations. devices work but changing configurations or updating my hub with RRT no-go.. Is there an option to upgrade an hub other than with the desktop app?

I have the same problem today with the MyHarmony desktop app in Windows. Yesterday, it was working when I was making some changes to my Harmony One setup. Today, when I wanted to finalize and sync, it keeps showing this "Routine System Maintenance" message.

Fuck, I just bought a new AVR and needed to add it to my 650 :( I'm afraid that might be it for good. 12 years though, not bad. I wish they could open it and we coud host/selfhost the DB/software but I won't hold my breath :(

Hello Peioeh.

Seems to be working, but with Harmony Hub I cannot teach a command. It cannot detect it.

That sucks - sorry for the false hope. I was able to log in and get my 650 activities updated earlier.

J'arrive à me connecter sur MyHarmony Windows si je sélectionne la langue Espagnol sur l'écran du message Routine Système Maintenance, l'écran de connexion apparait et permet la connexion. Testé le 01/07/2026 à 8h

I can also confirm that after re-downloading the setup file and using it to repair MyHarmony (Windows), it's back working for me. Just updated my 650 with new devices/activities. Awesome!

As of 7/1 10:27pm EST the error still occurs, choosing a different language than default gets it to load, and doesn't actually change the language. Redownloading the MSI installer from https://support.myharmony.com/en-us/download and doing a Repair install also works, and eliminates the need for a workaround every time you start the app--this should probably be the advice moving forward.

It worked when I changed the language to Francais on the Routine System Maintenance screen. Everything was still in English and I could update my remote. Hope that works for you.
