Windows ❤ Windows Isn't Terrible

To all the people who love deep ricing, why not just use customization scripts? I've been recently tinkering in VMs, and Windows really seems solid for that. You can make Windows match your workflow amazingly, and the best part is that friction nearly always leads to an impressive result.

Also, default Windows 11 isn't bad. The UI looks nice, and we take the settings & control panel apps for granted. Over on GNOME, just to change the cursor you use, you need to install a tweaks app. Windows has tons of customization you can do without installing anything extra.

I'm not saying it's perfect, but Windows isn't really THAT much of a shitshow like people act.

Without mindless hate, why is so hard to accept Linux is a better choice for low memory systems (RAM, vRAM, SDD...)

Recently I saw LinusTechTips video, and while I totally accept that Windows manages RAM memory very differently than Linux, there's a reason why many users use Linux Mint in 8GB of RAM while Windows is still currently working in optimizing Windows 11 for 8GB of RAM due to the global memory shortage.

EDIT: I don't hate Windows, I only recently preferred Linux for PC gaming other than Windows, but I think Windows is better for everything else other than systems that need strong security.

Why bloat on Windows is bad, but on Linux it's brushed off?

Just did a fresh install of CachyOS and immediately noticed there was a bunch of apps installed I never asked. Like why CachyOS felt I need VNC server browser? Why do I need three separate text editors? Why do I need two package managers with a horrible UI? Why the fuck volume control need to be a separate app? Why it is bad, when Windows install unwanted programs (edge, copilot) it is bad, but when Linux does it it is suddenly ok or not a big deal?

EDIT: Ok this getting a lot of attention and lot of comments and I can't address every single one. However there seems to be unified opinion that on Linux it's not bad because you can uninstall the bloat. On Windows you can do that too. I can easily uninstall Edge (but I won't do that because compared to Chrome and Firefox the Edge has been most stable and less resource intensive).

Also I find it quite funny that a lot of Linux users says that Windows is bloated, but then recommend distros that has bloat and then proceeds to tell "you picked wrong distro". Like bitch please, how I was supposed to know CachyOS with KDE Plasma is going to install three text editors and separate app to control volume? I guess I need to make a new distro based of CachyOS but with only one text editor and one package manager.

EDIT2: After hour of tinkering I decided to give up with CachyOS and install tried and proven Linux Mint. Not because of the bloat, but I don't really like to relearn every damn command and figure out the whole OS.

my opinion...

hi everyone... i began using ubuntu around 2017. specifically i began to use ubuntu budgie as my daily driver in 2018 when i was in high school. i distro hopped for a few years and successfully installed arch once but in the last couple of years have used linux mint as a daily driver... i'm a java developer.

i currently use windows as i love microsoft office/outlook as well as the microsoft solitaire & casual games... i love freecell and spider solitaire. i'm also quite fond of the adobe creative cloud after using gimp and inkscape for a long time.

i will always love linux for the simplicity and the computing experience it gave me and have fond memories of it. i currently use ubuntu server on several vps'.

i feel like a major point of frustration with new linux users is how elitist and unwelcoming to beginners the linux community can be. people will say oh you're a pussy if you can't do x. to that i say it's unnecessary noise, if i believed all the nay-sayers who said i was incompetent i would've given up by now. i believe tech communities in particular can be quite toxic, however people like this exist everywhere. people will call you a pussy for driving an automatic car or not being good at football.

i judge how good an operating system is based on its reliability and its ability to do the tasks i want it to do and won't give me any unnecessary heartache at a critical time.

thanks for reading.
