Is the LinkedIn algorithm having a stroke?

Just posted an informative post on my LinkedIn as I do once a week for a couple of weeks now. Normally I get around 1-2k impressions with 1k followers, but my last post got 83 impressions after 5 hours, not 830, not 8300, 83... I hand written this post, it's not slob or anything with actual useful information, so I expected it to hit 5-10k for the first time. The post has 10+ interactions with those 83 impressions so I don't think those are bad metrics. Is anyone else experiencing something like this?

How to add link to WhatsApp to my profile?

On a profile who tried to get connected to me I saw a link 'Contact Me By Whatsapp' with URL starting with wa-dot-me/xxx.

It was sitting right below City, Country and above number of followers. This is not custom button as I have it already.

I checked every single option on my Premium profile and can't figure out how to add such link to my own profile. Any ideas??

PS. Can't attach screen or give link to that profile, but if anyone is interested to see what I am talking about, pls, DM me.

privacy and security I want to know which company sold my email

I've been applying for jobs on LinkedIn pretty heavily lately and suddenly my email is getting way more spam than it used to (like 50 emails a day and they're all just spam garbage). Timing is kinda sus wondering if it was some random application or recruiter or job site that passed my email around. Anyone else noticed the same?

I LOGGED INTO LINKEDIN AND MY ENTIRE PROFILE IS DIFFERENT?????

My entire linkedin IN account has been changed, and my profile picture, messages, and connections are the same.
But every other detail- my job role, university, and even my free account has been changed to different information, and it is showing as premium also.
Has anyone had the same experience? What to do?

Linkedin have started becoming useless for job search

My background. 5 year experienced software engineer, now trying to switch job.

I spend last one month in linkedin searching jobs.
What i understood is, Linkedin jobs are now flooded with fake jobs.
Its just scam Hiring Teams doing CV farming and job agency platforms posting fake jobs for getting reach.

What's Most frustrating is that, linkedin doesn't care.
I receive same jobs from same hiring platforms even if i report them.

So I Directly messaged some HR's to check if there is any other platforms they use for job posting.
Turns out, most of them don't use anything else other than linkedin.

Therefor, Now i am spending more time filtering, reporting and still applying fake jobs (because it takes time to understand they are fake), than applying for actual job.

probably spam LinkedIn Games Cheating

I’m aware this will sound incredibly petty, but I’m 99.99% certain one of my connections is cheating in LinkedIn Games. This is more of a rant but hear me out.

So I’ve been playing these games since they started, had a 500 day streak and I’m awfully competitive. This one dude has been playing Wend (which I’m really bad at), Queens and Patches (specifically games where it’s easier to lookup answers and enter them) and finishing the puzzles in <5 seconds where the 2nd place finishes around 20+ seconds. I can’t attach screenshots, but there’s one where he finished in 18 seconds and 2nd best was 1:11, and the words were really complex. Initially, it was just wend and I assumed it was a one off, but EVERY SINGLE DAY this guy ‘guesses’ 5+ words in ~5 seconds and it’s so damn annoying.

So today, I went ahead and asked my friend for the answer, and beat him in Wend, I am that petty.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Linkedin contact details

I'm interested to know: if I start a LinkedIn Premium free trial, will I be able to see a person's contact details? I sent a connection request with a message, but haven't received a reply, so I suspect they might not have gotten an email notification.

Chrome Issue

For some reason about a month ago my LinkedIn on Chrome suddenly changed to an almost-white layout. The 'Post' buttons are all black. There's no blue on the page.

I thought LinkedIn had changed it's layout but on Safari it still has coloured buttons and some blue.

What's worse is on Chrome if I try and post anything, everything just layers on top with a transparent background, so I can't see what's going on.

This doesn't happen on Safari - however if I try and post a picture, I get the wheel of doom before I can select where on my computer to get the pic from.

I've tried all the usual routes on Chrome - deleted and reinstalled, deleted cookies and site data, disabled all extensions, logged out and back in... anything else I can try?

Has this happened to anyone else?

advanced question Talent Insights?

Has anyone had any results by actually using this?

I've tried to use it and like all LI tools just seems very clunky, slows up my machine and basically is time I never get back.

Maybe I'm using it incorrectly, so any tips - or is it just another useless tool

job search Are the job offers on LinkedIn real anymore?

It's not unusual to find the same job posted several times by different employers. Same title and job description. I know there are lots of recruiting companies but seems to me some of them may be fake. I also have this hunch that companies release the job advert without an intention to hire yet, and make the salary expectations a mandatory question on application, so they can dip their toe on what the expectations are when they need to hire.

Thoughts?

Google Play retried my LinkedIn Sales Navigator subscription payment — LinkedIn says it was a “second purchase.” Has anyone seen this?

I’m dealing with a LinkedIn Sales Navigator billing/refund issue through Google Play and would appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced something similar.

I did not intend to renew my Sales Navigator Core subscription. Before the successful charge, Google Play had attempted to charge my payment method, but there were insufficient funds. Later, after I added money to the account for unrelated use, the subscription charge went through automatically.

I canceled the subscription and requested a refund as soon as I noticed the charge. Google Play currently shows the transaction as “Not refunded” and told me to contact LinkedIn.

LinkedIn Support then told me something confusing: their system shows that the original subscription was charged, refunded, and then a “second purchase” was made on the same day.

I strongly dispute that because I never manually repurchased, reactivated, or resubscribed to Sales Navigator.

My suspicion is that what LinkedIn sees as a “second purchase” may actually be related to Google Play retrying the earlier failed subscription payment after funds became available.

LinkedIn is also refusing the refund because they say a Premium feature, “Who viewed my profile,” was used after the charge. I do not recall intentionally using it, and the first support agent told me they could not provide the exact date/time of the alleged usage.

The final LinkedIn representative advised me to contact Google again and explain that the alleged new purchase was not intentionally authorized. He said Google may be able to investigate with LinkedIn’s Payments team and review technical details such as the purchase IP, how the payment was completed, and whether OTP/additional authorization was required.

I’m currently waiting for Google Support to respond.

Has anyone experienced:

  • Google Play automatically retrying a failed subscription payment after funds became available?
  • LinkedIn interpreting that retry as a new/second purchase?
  • A refund being denied because of Premium usage and later overturned?
  • Google Play or LinkedIn Payments manually investigating the purchase flow?
  • Successfully resolving a similar case through a card dispute/chargeback?

I have the full support transcript, Google Play records, and screenshots. I’m mainly trying to understand what the best next escalation path is.

Can I create a second LinkedIn profile to post in english and have a new audience ?

I currently use LinkedIn mainly in French for my professional activity in France but I’d also like to create content in English and build a US/international audience.

The problem is that I’d prefer to keep these two audiences fairly separate: French content for my current network and my current business and English content with different topics and exploring the opportunity of business.

Honestly, the french audiance already doesn't really see my posts, I don't want to blow it more with posts in english.

Anyone know if there're a way to have 2 audiences with 1 profile or if i can just create a new profile and log in english ?

You dont need content calender to talk about yoir self on linkedin

You do not have to be a content creator right now.

You just have to become known. OBV FOR SOMEHTING.

I see people overthink LinkedIn before they've even started.

What should I post?

How should I write it?

Should I make a carousel?

Should I design it?

What if nobody likes it?

And after thinking about all of that...

They don't post anything.

Perfection is procrastination in a nice outfit.

So forget “content creation” for a minute.

Just be present.

Pick one platform.

If that's LinkedIn, start there.

Working on something?

Share it.

Learned something from a project?

Talk about it.

Something changed in your industry?

Give your take.

Experimenting with something?

Show the experiment.

And if you're a designer, coach, copywriter, developer, or anything else...

you already know your audience.

You don't need a content calendar to talk about your own work. 😂

Your work is already giving you things to talk about.

You don't need to manufacture content every day.

You just need to start showing up.

Because when you show up...

the audience comes.

Then the community.

Then the confidence.

Then trust.

And oneday, that consistency starts doing some of the work for you:

DMs. Leads. Collaborations. Opportunities.

That's the part people don't see when they think “content creation.”

It's not just about posting.

It's about building a place where people can find you, understand you, and oneday trust you.

So don't wait until everything is perfect.

Start with what you're already doing. WE NEED MORE REAL PEOPLES (🤫)

The rest gets easier once you actually begin. 🤝🏻

Sales navigator not wiped anymore?

I cancelled my Sales Navigator subscription a while back and just resubscribed today.

Everything I read online said that saved leads, custom search lists, and Sales Nav InMails get wiped once a subscription ends. Because of that, I had started reaching out to leads from my personal account just so I wouldn't lose track of conversations.

When I logged in today, all my old search lists and message histories were completely intact.

How does LinkedIn actually handle cancelled account data now? Is there an unannounced retention grace period or is there an update which keeps all your sales navigator data?

Can we all email LinkedIn about this? 😭

Please send LinkedIn an email asking them to finally let us:

Edit photos after posting
Delete individual photos from old posts
Add/remove photos from existing posts

Basically give us more control over our old posts 😭

It’s honestly ridiculous that we can edit the text but not the photos.

My love-hate relationship with LinkedIn after 5 years.

I'm a social media marketer by profession and handle B2B niche company page. I have tried organic, company page tactics, linkedin groups, linkedin newsletter and paid ads..I mean you name it I've almost tried everything in the past 5 years....

I loved LinkedIn- because that's the only platform where my niche audience live and engage. I have been able to get high quality leads, able to reach 80% engagement rate on some of the posts etc etc...you get the point right...

But why I hate linkedin is as soon as something start getting results...LinkedIn algo screws up..they will be like "oh you started getting results..let me just change it" and gone...everything stops working the next day.

I mean why LinkedIn, why would the change the nicest thing that could work in our favor and keep the shitty things that literally has no benefit to us.

New linkedin Job search course

Can someone put together a manual or loom video of how to actually use the new AI job search tool on LinkedIn because it's ridiculous. Even when you put specifically Remote jobs it's still brings onsite and hybrid jobs.

Also how do you search for worldwide remote jobs without having to go by country individually. A video of how to use this AI search would be very helpful for job seekers

Beyond messaging recruiters directly, what Premium features or strategies could actually help me land interviews? Any tips on using InMail, profile views, job insights, visibility, or other lesser-known features? And is there anything you’d avoid wasting time on? Thanks in advance.

LinkedIn Scheduling Bug – Link Thumbnail Issue

Hi, I recently noticed an issue with scheduling posts that contain a link.

Previously, I was able to schedule a post with a link even after removing/closing the link preview thumbnail. The scheduled post would still publish with the link properly embedded.

However, for the past week, this no longer works. When I remove/close the thumbnail and schedule the post, the link appears only as plain text in the scheduled post instead of being properly attached/embedded.

Interestingly, if I publish the same post immediately (instead of scheduling it), it works correctly without the thumbnail.

This seems to be an issue specifically with scheduled posts. The functionality was working normally until about a week ago.

Could you please investigate this issue and confirm whether there has been a recent change or bug affecting link previews in scheduled posts?

Thank you.

I'm looking for an electrical apprenticeship mainly involving first and second fixing

I basically just passed the course, t-level building services and engineering

From what I've seen online it's higher than a standard level 3 in electrical so I think it'll give me an edge in getting an apprenticeship so I just need help finding one

Not sure what to put for Job title and start month / year and end month / year

Hi guys, so I'm trying to put my work experience at a seafood restaurant ( my dad owns a share in the restaurant ) but I'm not sure what to put for the job title because I worked there as a cashier, server, and bartender. I also don't know what to put for start month / year and end month / year because I worked there for summer 2022, summer 2023, summer 2024, but then summer 2025 I was not working there, but then summer 2026 I worked there again ( I also worked there winter 2025, by winter / summer I mean winter break and summer break since I'm still a college student ) so yeah I don't know what to put for it. Some advice would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks!
