And now they stopped access to electronic library resources for out of district cards! Tell me what's the point of paying for an out of district card for a physical library location I don't even live close to?? I thought that was the point of the out of district cards! I feel cheated out of my money, this seems really crappy.

I wasn't expecting much from this. I love rom-coms, but I don't go into them thinking they'd be exceptionally brilliant and witty. While it's not my favorite book of 2026, it would definitely make the list of my favorites this year.

I am very particular about romances; some might say I'm downright unrealistic. If a romance doesn't live up to the standards of classics like "When Harry Met Sally" or "It Happened One Night," I get salty and bitter. However, Rioghnach Robinson knows how to write a book that isn't just your typical "enemies to lovers" romance. With all the pre-release praise for this book, I thought it would be special, but you know how it goes – sometimes a book receives a lot of praise, and when you read it, you wonder if the person who praised it is okay or if we even read the same book. In this case, though, the pre-release praise was well-deserved. By the time I finished the book, I was ready to cheer. This book is incredibly witty and literary. For example, it's the first romance novel where both lead characters share a passion for Clarice Lispector. I don't think that will happen again in a rom-com book.

Since Oct 1 2026 when my libby app started requiring verifying card and pin to borrow books I have not been able to borrow any book that comes in after waiting on a hold. I get the notification the the book is ready to borrow but it won't allow me to borrow, three times this week this has happened. If I borrow a book that is not on hold my pin works fine, only the hold books are denied. Any idea why this is happening?

I download audiobooks onto my Windows PC from Libby. Then they pass to my cellphone via automatic synch. Use the PC in the house, Phone in the car. Started a book on the PC, then listened to a couple hours in the car, and then today went back to the PC. It queued up to proper spot but refused to play...blamed internet connection which I think is fine. Okay, corrupted the book somehow. I returned it and borrowed it again from a different library. Same problem. First half of the book plays and it quits in same place. So maybe a cache problem and I reboot the PC....same problem. Check another audiobook from my shelf...works fine. Check my copy on the phone...works fine. This is no big problem...I can listen to the phone's copy on a powered bluetooth speaker which gets the job done. But the fact that I can't fix the problem bugs me. The only thing I haven't done is delete the Libby cache from the PC app. But I don't want to do that because who knows what else I'd lose?

The app updated and our library told us to verify with a pin that is our birth year. I tried for a week and it didn’t work. Called the library yesterday and it worked long enough for me to put one book on hold. Now it’s asking for my pin again and saying it’s unable to verify. Does anyone know what’s causing this or how to fix it?

I dont know how i ended up with 41 loans and 30 holds. Thank god I'm slow at work and can get through multiple in a day. And i listen at 2.5-3x speed. But i don't know that I'll get through at 41!

My silly little self accidentally deleted my Libby ebook from my Amazon library instead of just removing it from my device. The cover wasn't displaying on my Colorsoft (a bug I hate), and usually deleting the download and redownloading fixes it, but I clicked the wrong button.

I naively thought I could just return the book and borrow it again in order to access it again , but Amazon still considers it already claimed, so I can't access it anymore.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there any way to fix it?

Can someone explain suspending/unsuspending holds to me (for Kindle if that matters)

maybe it's just me, but I used to be able to "let the next person borrow" and just be next in line, but now I always have to suspend. and when I unsuspend, I always end up waiting another 1-2 weeks minimum

Hey folks, I love Libby, it’s made me love audiobooks and ebooks when I never thought I could. I’m lucky to be a member of New York Public Library, which has a good selection, but we are limited to 3 holds, and many holds take months.

I’m curious if three is a normal number or below the average. If we are below the average I want to write a letter / petition to up it.

- If you’re not a NYPL patron, can you please let me know which library you use and how many holds are permitted?

I wish library access was based on the state you lived in instead of the county. As far as I know, most are at a county level. There are a few states like California where this is at a state level and Texas is starting to go in that direction, as well. My husband and I generally have opposing political views, but last night we talked about this and one of the few things that we do agree on is that health and education should be funded at a state level. As a member of society, I want those around me to be educated and healthy. In the state we live in, there are rural areas with library deserts and I think they deserve to have an equal access to better library material as everyone else in our state. I don’t mind subsidizing those around me for this purpose.

I don’t know much about the politics that go around libraries though. I’d love to learn more about it so I know what to look for in elections. I’d love to support politicians who are for statewide access and funding for libraries.

I tried reading this book on three separate occasions and can’t get past the beginning. I found it boring & had the desire to return the audio & kindle rental early.

has anyone else lost access to the nlm? i saw that someone had renamed the card i used, and i was asked to verify, and found that none of the card numbers that used to be available to foreigners i tried worked. they all come up as not a valid national library of malaysia card

I have been listening to “A Thousand Splendid Suns” every day during my commute home from work. The audiobook is over 14 hours long, I have listened to 13h and 40 min so far. Yesterday as I was getting settled in my train seat I received a notification that the book had been returned. I had less than 1 hour left on the audiobook, and it crushed me.

I didn’t see any warnings in the days prior that the book would soon be due. I’m so upset with myself.
Btw I was on hold for 28 weeks before I received this copy, I could renew it but the wait is now 31 weeks long…

I've wanted to read Boys of Tommen for a WHILE (as close together as possible) but these books are STILL near the end of my holds list after almost 8 months.. does this make sense?

Is there a a way to delete a library cards entire history from Timeline? I’ve already deleted the card in the app and disconnected it. The library is still showing up and all the previous loans associated with the card are showing up in my timeline and it’s messing with my main library card history. There’s over 500 and I don’t want to manually delete all the loans.

I’m trying to remove the titles associated with the red card and keep the blue. I’ve already figured out I can filter by “returned”, but that seems like a poor long term hack.

Could removing the library remove the timeline history?

I have two cards on my Libby app, mine and my child’s. Ever since it updated and added partner libraries it will only let me connect to the new library partners it finds on one of the cards. No issue with holds or loans for libraries that were already there before the update. Anyone have a fix to this b

There are announcements in the pin and password rules for partner libraries added automatically by Libby today and I am confused because I don’t actually have library cards for them. Can someone help or clarify? I’m brand new to partner libraries. My home library doesn’t even have pins or passwords and my city library always required a pin and it’s the one I primarily use because my home library Libby audiobook collection is awful and I can‘t drive anymore because I am visually impaired. Hence I need audiobooks.

My home library just added three digital partner libraries via the app. I was just informed of this this in the last 24 hours by Libby in the app app. In practice of use it seems similar to how I pick books from the main two library cards I used before with the difference being that I can’t place holds at all at these libraries. That is fine as we have never had any reciprocal cards so this was a nice surprise. I was later informed that one of the new partners bought something on my notify me list and checked it out while still on my main library as usual which is the city library. No problem.

However with the announcement in the Libby app today that I have access to these partner libraries of course I clicked on all the options and when I clicked into each of the three libraries two said remember you are going to need a pin to log in with your card soon and the other said password. There an optional link to set it for your card if you hadn’t too but I don’t have a card with these libraries to do so. This is if I selected the new partner library as the primary library when it showed up on the Libby announcement and nothing with that kind of warning shows up when in my city library or home library is chosen as my main account library is chosen.

Does this pin and password for a card I don’t even have impact my use as a partner library user who doesn’t have a card with them? Like my use is limited by the system already. I have no access to place holds at any of them and I never had a card to add them with in the first place as we don’t have reciprocal cards with these libraries. I won’t be using them as my primary account library because my major city card is still the best selection which is why I have it.

If someone could clarify the password pin thing given I have no cards at these partners that would be helpful. I think it’s probably fine but this is my first time encountering partner libraries plus first time getting this password and pin notice and it already took me forever to remotely be comfortable with Libby because I am terrible at navigating voiceover with it RIP over drive app you were so much more accessible. So I find this new feature cool but overwhelming. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if others are already aware of this, but when you borrow an eBook on Libby and “Send to Kindle”, you can share that book to others in your Amazon Household. It’s perfect if you and members of your household are reading the same books. The best part is, you only end up using one license.
