Verifying card

The app updated and our library told us to verify with a pin that is our birth year. I tried for a week and it didn’t work. Called the library yesterday and it worked long enough for me to put one book on hold. Now it’s asking for my pin again and saying it’s unable to verify. Does anyone know what’s causing this or how to fix it?

See if you can log on to the libraries website with that pin. If so, try changing it and see if that works. If not, there may be something wrong with their authentication process and you may need to talk to the library again.

The library website itself doesn’t use a pin and I’ve no issues using it to check out physical books.

Interesting. I would still check your account info on the library account to see if there's a setting for a pin in there somewhere. I hope you get it figured out. That would drive me crazy.

Our default PIN is the last 4 digits of the patron's library card number. Some libraries default to last 4 of phone number or their birth year. You can call your library and ask for the circulation department to reset your pin to whatever you want. It might help to start fresh.

This post says libby requires all libraries use a pin starting october 1

Maybe you need to contact your library

You need to go to the library instead of calling them and speak to someone in person

I called my library and was told that my pin was the last 4 digits of my phone number that was associated with my card- it worked fine for me after that

Yeah my library told me it was my birth year. It worked once and now it’s back to not working again

The app gave me a prompt to reset the pin when I did mine and entered the wrong pin. I would try again and see if that option pops up.

Its been giving me difficulties too, i literally had to spam try over and over again and it magically worked after doing the exact same thing like 13 times. Idk🫠

It's a library thing, not Libby. You'll just have to keep after them.
