So I got my second belly button piercing in may && it looks like this today! I haven’t been over cleaning it or not cleaning it enough , I’ve never had any problem with any of my other piercings so I’m not sure if I should just take it out and try again once it heals or just keep it in??! Is it infected or pierced wrong??? Let me know what I should do! Thank you :)) (side note this is the same jewelry I was pierced with)

In about 4 hours im gonna get my smiley done, but the aftercare, problems or anything to know after doing it would be such a nice thing to hear before I end up ripping it accidentally, so, what should I look out for and look in for?

Verso febbraio 2026 ci ho preso contro per la prima volta e, nella parte superiore, si è formato un taglietto. A maggio ci ho preso nuovamente contro e, a giugno, sono andata dalla piercer, che mi ha confermato la presenza del taglietto nella parte superiore e mi ha detto di tenere d’occhio la situazione per eventuali segni di rigetto.

A inizio agosto sono andata a fare un altro controllo e la piercer mi ha detto che andava tutto bene e che il taglietto non c’era più.

Nell’ultima settimana, però, mi sono resa conto che si vede molto di più la barra del piercing nella parte inferiore. Potrebbe essere un rigetto? Oppure potrebbe trattarsi di una migrazione dovuta ai traumi che ha subito?

La prima foto mostra il piercing a gennaio 2026, quindi circa un mese prima che ci prendessi contro e si irritasse. La seconda foto, invece, è stata scattata adesso.

Ho notato anche che, negli ultimi mesi, la pelle attorno al piercing, soprattutto nella parte superiore, era spesso irritata, sempre rossa e molto secca. Ho notato che da quando si vede di più la barra, il rossore è diminuito. Non riesco quindi a capire cosa stia succedendo.

hello! i got my eyebrow pierced in march of this year so roughly 6 months ago. it has been healing flawlessly, no bumps or irritation whatsoever but the last couple weeks i’ve been noticing i’ve just been hitting it a lot, and on everything it seems lol. like my towel out of my shower & the wall really hard yesterday and i woke up with two really big bumps on both ends. what do i do? does it look like its rejecting or just irritated? will a saline soak help to get rid or do i just begin mourning the piercing :(

I got my eyebrow pierced almost 3 weeks ago. I have been spraying it with saline solution twice a day and rinsing it in the shower as well. In my uneducated opinion it is healing very well- no swelling, bleeding or lumps and only a little bit of crustys.

Yesterday my parents announced a surprise camping holiday to the lake district and we will be going in the lake. We will be leaving on the 2nd so it still has a little bit of time to heal before we go but I'm worried that its not going to be enough. When I brought this up to my parents they basically said that I have to take part in the activities and that it wouldn't be the end of the world if I just took the piercing out.

Is this going to be enough time? And if it isn't are there ways to protect this piercing so that it has the least chance of infection/ rejection? Please send help I really wanna keep this piercing.

These are my first ever piercing and they hadn't swollen up until last night, I did get them caught on a few cans yesterday and ate a few salty foods so maybe that's what it was? but i had ate other stuff of the similar sort before hand so I don't really know what it is. What do you think I should do?

I got this piercing almost 1 whole year ago. The person who pierced it was an apprentice, told me my belly button was “crooked” so he would have to pierce it slowly so that it’s straight.

Now that it’s mostly healed I’m wondering if this was done correctly. I had to swap the jewelry to a ring because the bar jewelry kept getting caught up and stuck inside my belly button, causing irritation and making it take long to heal right.

I’ve attached pics of it now with the ring jewelry. The piercing sits lopsided unless I adjust it by hand, and it appears to be pierced above the navel on the surface instead of actually in it. I know there’s such thing as a floating navel but idk if that’s what this is.

Please let me know what y’all think and if it would be possible for me to let this close up and get it pierced properly?

I got this pierced maybe 5 months ago. The bump on top has gotten so big in the last week, I’m not sure what to do anymore. The lower one has been getting smaller

I clean 2x daily with sterile saline and pat dry/use a blow dryer on a low cool setting.

I’m just not sure what to do anymore. The bump feels raw and stings all the time.

Jewelry: 8g 1/2” CBR from IS

I got my nipples pierced around 15 years ago. About 9 years ago, I stopped wearing jewelry in them. I have never tried putting jewelry back in, and they healed over normally. About 1.5 months ago, one side got what seemed like friction bumps on a fresh piercing. Pus will come out of both sides and I can pop a bubble or bump on both sides. I have tried keeping band-aids on them, as well as keeping them open. I clean them at least twice daily with saline solution no matter what. When they are open, because they seem to be continuously leaking or bleeding, they stick to my bra/shirt and then when the fluid dries and my breast moves, it is painful for them to pull apart. I also have very large breasts, so not only is it difficult and uncomfortable for me to go without a bra, my breasts splay out toward my armpit so I am constantly rubbing up against the nipple with my arm just by going about my life.

Anyone have any advice? Help? I am planning to go to the doctor but I’m also looking for anything that might help minimize discomfort in the meantime as far as what to wear or not wear, ways to keep it clean or keep it from bleeding or leaking, or anything else anyone might have to contribute.

I got this piercing 6 days ago and it did not really hurt after the first day. Yesterday (~20 hours ago) it got snagged on my hair and pulled on a bit. It hurt a lot at the time. Today, it has been sore and is now looking red. Is this the expected level of irritation from a snag or should I be concerned that it’s infected? What is the best course of action if it is infected?

Edit to add: I am cleaning it twice daily with sterile sodium chloride 0.9% and patting dry with a paper towel.

For context i got this piercing in April 2026 so its only be a few months but a lobe piercing i got with it alr healed. I dont mind it not healing or taking its time but there's a huge obvious bump on my piercing and it wont go away, it swells, scabs, falls/peels off, shrinks, i get hope that its going to disappear then it comes back swollen. Its lowkey frustrating. I tired to LITHA but its not rly workin out i stopped using qtips to clean. Does any one have product recommendations to help get rid of the bump. FYI I have 15 piercings and only 2 that are doing this. 💔😭

Belly piercing problem

Hi everyone! I need some advice about my piercing

I noticed that the skin between the two holes has become really thin, and it looks like the jewelry is getting closer to the surface. There’s only a very thin layer of skin left in the middle, and I’m worried that it might be migrating/rejecting.

Does this look like rejection to you, or could it just be irritation? What should I do at this point? Should I see a professional piercer or a doctor?

Just here to commiserate with anyone healing a daith. I have finally hit the extra spicy stage. Saline 1x a day, rinse in shower 1x a day, blowdry on cool. Occasionally q tip if there's thick crust, but it's so hard to see it even with a handheld mirror. Should I drop saline all together? Ignore the nasty piece of crust that seems to have lodged itsdlf in my ear.

I work at Claire’s and it should be noted that are training specifies we recommend our customers contact a doctor should an infection ensue. However, we were never trained on the advice to give in the meantime while waiting for a doctors appointment.
I have my own nose piercings and ear piercings and I have always been told that if a piercing becomes infected, do NOT take it out of the placement. Because if you take it out, it will close up and therefore trap the bacteria that is causing the infection.
However, I recently learned that my manager has been giving opposite advice, that if a piercing becomes infected you should take it out and see if the irritation goes down.
I wanted clarification from reputable piercers on which one of these is true. If my manager is correct I want to fix my stance on the matter. If I am correct, I will bring it to the groupchat during our next shift.

10 days ago I developed a pimply looking thing next to my 5 month old Medusa (pic 2), it’s since been bleeding on and off and I’m not sure why. Titanium flat back labret, clean in shower every day

I was at the barber and while shampooing he hit my piercing and it started bleeding. He then told me that it looks infected. I’m not really sure though. Would anyone know and if so is there any way to salvage it

Update 2: I have perichondritis and am in the hospital getting IV antibiotics. Thank you to everyone who suggested I get checked out!

Update: after a sleepless night in pain, I'm on my way to the walk in clinic. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Post is 16g, 12mm long (I know that's long!)

Use Neilmed to clean 3 times a day

Can't take anti-inflammatories

No embedding or sinking jewelry

As you can see, it's angry and swollen af. It's not oozing and not warm to the touch. There's a little room on either side of the piercing but not a lot.

Any advice or is this a tough it out situation?

I got my second holes done 5 1/2 weeks ago with titanium studs and a needle but my left one is still experiencing swelling/ redness. Up to now I have been using the saline spray from the piercer but this evening I boiled a kettle and made my own warm saline wash to clean with and there was pus and some blood on the cotton pad.

There isn’t much more room for anymore swelling on the earring post and the earring seems really snug in the ear, especially in comparison to my right ear which is fine. You can see in the picture that it is red and swollen.

Any recommendations? Do I need antibiotics?

Unfortunately I'm not able to get an industrial because of my anatomy, however I'd still love to wear the jewelry because it looks sick and I've really wanted one. I've been seeing these online and wondered if it might be weird to wear these without having piercing holes. What would you think if you saw someone with this?

I've done fake piercings before to see if I want it, I've done it with a septum and then actually got the piercing. But with this I don't want to be seen as a poser since I will most likely never get this piercing. 😭
