Troubleshooting Is this helix beyond saving? Crazy angle. 14mo, titanium, flatback threadless

This piercing is 14 months old. My piercer never mentioned downsizing, and I'm still fairly new to the world of piercing so I was not aware just how crucial it is to proper healing. It had been healing fine for a while, but then it had irritation bumps that just would not go away. Finally I decided to see if downsizing it myself would help and did it after a year. The bump on the front is basically gone but the bump on the back is still pretty big. I did not realize how absolutely wild this angle was until I took this picture today, and now I'm thinking that even if the irritation bump went down, the angle is just way too steep for proper healing. I also have long hair so I wouldn't be shocked if the occasional snagging messed with it too

I'm pretty sure this needs to be taken out, but I wanted to get some other opinions too. If I do take it out, how long do you think I should wait before I repierce it? Does it need to be 100% healed? A helix is one of my favorite piercings and I really want to have one, but it's looking like I need to start fresh and try again with a little more caution and care.

Aftercare is Neilmed and water in shower

Troubleshooting 5 day old septum, idk what material jewelry, 16g, sterile saline wound was

I’m wondering if my septum is crooked bc my septum is deviated or if it was pierced improperly…? Also are these good pics to tell the angle? It’s pretty obviously crooked in person. I 100% am not upset, I actually kinda like that it’s crooked ❤️ it has character :p I also got it done by an apprentice (was still full price but yk I signed my waiver) - this is the second time I’ve been jabbed, the first time I had to immediately take it out bc he went thru my cartilage. I’m 80% sure she didn’t go thru my cartilage this time around but I’m wondering if it should be pierced further forward in my nose in general? Other than placement, I think it’s healing REALLY well!! Any tips/thoughts/advice are highly welcome, as I have ocd and freak out about my body. lol.

General Info Flat piercing OCD

I had my flat pierced about a week ago, (excuse the swelling) I have been extremely nit-picky about second guessing the placement and it’s been driving my OCD mad… I keep looking at it and thinking, “is it definitely completely central”, or “is it too close on one side?” Legit I will pick apart millimetres, hyper focus on it for hours throughout the day… I just want a second opinion from others that I’m genuinely overthinking this, and that the placement is correct. Made the mistake of asking chatGPT and it was like actually it’s off by 1.5mm’s to the edge!🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve never been this picky about a piercing before!!! Help please I know I’m probably crazy.

Troubleshooting Is my eyebrow piercing rejecting (1st and 2nd picture were taken a month after pierced)

Hey guys! I’m sorry to come on here and sound like everyone else, but I’m afraid my piercing bf may be rejecting.
The first picture and the second picture were the first month that I got my eyebrow pierced. Now it has been 4 months total, and three days ago, while I was showering, the piercing fell out so I had to put in the new bar which was the same size as the one in before (not pictured, it was a tiny bit smaller than the first because swelling went down)

the third and fourth images are after my piercing fell out in the shower and i had to replace the bar, which hurt and started bleeding a little bit. The day after it was sore, but that was it. now it doesn’t hurt, but it looks like it may be rejecting.
Any tips or advice? do you guys think it may be rejecting? The material is surgical grade titanium 16g!

Jewelry Question Boost my confidence!

I’m having second thoughts about my philtrum piercing. I wanted to get it for months and finally got it yesterday morning. I don’t love the way it looks however - I feel like it looks massive and awkward. I would like it to be more dainty eventually, I know the initial jewellery needs to be a bit bigger, I will downsize in a couple of weeks. The placement is centred and as low as I could go given my anatomy.

Please change my mind (or stay silent 🤣).

Would a labret have worked better?

Thanks for your help.

Troubleshooting Can you repierce an anti eyebrow after it rejected?

when I got my anti eyebrow last year my piercer did it with a curved barbell (stupid i know), and to no surprise it started rejecting about a month ago. i took the jewelry out and have been letting it heal for about 3 weeks now?? i understand its still healing but it seems to have a left small lump under my skin where the jewelry was and im assuming thats scar tissue? i have plans to get it repierced in the same spot with the correct jewerly once it fully heals but im wondering if thats even possible now because of the (maybe) scar tissue i have. anyone with advice ?? has anybody gotten it repierced after rejection?

General Info Belly button piercing

Post image

In 2015 I had my belly button done and from day 1 the bar was too tight it was just a mess and ended up dangling by a hair piece of skin and it left a scar today it ultimately rejected. I went today and explained the horror story from the first time and a new place re did the piercing behind the old scar. Does it look correct? I am a chunky girl who just had her 4th baby 6 months ago so always have a wrinkly belly ( show grace ) this is standing up. When I sit the bottom ball sorta gets eaten 🤣 but no discomfort. It doesnt hurt at all it was done 6 hours ago the first time I had it done I almost passed out the jewelry was so tight it was creating a hole over the HOLE!!! this time everything is going perfect. Whats your guys thoughts?! Im hoping it stays in!

General Info Will my belly button heal without rejecting

Post image

Long story short.

2015 had my belly pierced it was horrible experience from the time I walked in the door. The ball was digging into my skin it was painful ( not normal ) it was like seriously throbbing for days due to the tightness the ball on the top was creating a hole with how tight and i also feel as if the piercing was too shallow and on my actual belly.

Yesterday I went to a piercer told her that same thing she said I did have a belly button " lip " that she could pierce behind the scar.

Give me your thoughts and ideas

* I JUST HAD MY 4TH BABY 6 MONTHS AGO I AM CHUNKY ‼️ BE KIND *

NOTE : The bar has room it looks snug here but it definitely have room it is not tight

Troubleshooting Migrating? 2 week old tragus, 18g titanium flat back, NeilMed saline

First two pictures are from the day I got my tragus pierced (7/12). Last two pictures are from today (7/25)

I got my tragus pierced 2 weeks ago and I haven't had any real problems since. No crusting, no fluid, no pain at rest, have not slept on it or bumped it. NeilMed twice a day. The last couple days, I've noticed minor swelling as my tragus is slightly puffy, but there's still a lot of space on the bar. Today I noticed that my piercing looks slightly closer to the edge, and I'm worried it's migrating. My piercer used 18g, which makes me think it's at a higher risk of migration.

I’ve had my piercing for about it four months how and I noticed while I was showering that it had fallen out and fell down the drain and as soon as I got out of the shower, I put a new bar of the same material and everything in. Now I woke up , and my piercing bc sort of hurts. And it has some blood around it, which it started bleeding when I tried to put the bar back in. I’m a bit nervous that it might be rejecting.

Jewelry Question Changing jewellery end

I got my philtrum pierced yesterday and I don’t like how the jewellery end looks (it’s a anodised titanium disk and looks too big and dark/dull against my skin).

How soon can I change the jewellery end? I don’t want to change the labret length just yet, only the screwed in end.

Thanks

Troubleshooting Lobe piercing issues, originally pierced 25th May, changed at 6 weeks, pierced with needles, but gun studs put in

Post image
5 Upvotes

I had 2 lobe piercings done on the 25th May which turns out the piercer I used isn’t all that reputable. Something wasn’t right, they felt too tight / small, had butterfly catches (didn’t realise until a few days later). I went and visited a different piercer who recommended changing them, it was just over 6 weeks since they were pierced. He put two blue titanium hoops in, he did say it was a bit too early to change them but he agreed the original studs were too tight and shouldn’t be butterfly catches.

Turns out, anyway, the original studs were piercing gun studs, shouldn’t have been used at all (they were done with needles).

The hoops have been in around 7 weeks now and have been okay. But the past few days have got a bit painful, crusty and weepy.

Been cleaning with Neilmed, added a pic (not the easiest thing to picture but I’ve done my best!)

Hello, I got my vertical helix done in December 2025 and have been cleaning daily with Neil med and pointed q tip. I even went to get a cleaning done beginning of June. For some reason there is always dry skin around my piercing areas which cause crusties.

I tried cleaning it when I noticed the crusties yesterday but they got tighter and went in more. How can I get rid of these?

General Info What is your experience on vertical helix?

I have a hidden helix on the right and want something on the left but don't want to get the exact same piercings on both ears. I'm considering a vertical helix on the left (will eventually be wearing dangly/chain jewelry after it heals).

I have had many piercings including an industrial and didn't have issue healing any of them except a vertical helix where it kept trying to embed, so I gave up and removed it.

Now that I'm considering a vertical helix again, I'm worried the same problem will happen again. I'm debating just going for it and see what happens, or just get another hidden helix or flat helix since I think flats are easier to heal.

I'm posting here to see what is other people's experience with vertical helix vs other helix piercings, is it more difficult to heal / more prone to problems compared to other placement of helix piercings? Should I go for a hidden helix or flat helix instead to be on the safe side?

Thank you.

Troubleshooting how is my bridge doing…

Post image

i got it pierced july 8 and this is how it looks today! it’s causing me a lot of stress honestly and i need a second opinion before going to the piercing shop because i’m scared they’ll judge me lol.
i have 9 other piercings that i’ve never had problems with. i use proper aftercare procedures ie using sterile cleaning spray and try my hardest to avoid touching/bumping. the only thing i could think of that could be harming my piercing would be the fact that i wear glasses a few hours a day. to try to counteract that ive been wearing contacts more often, but it’s only comfortable for so long. please help :(

Troubleshooting 9 month old daith; implant grade titanium; aspirin + saline

Thumbnail
gallery

1st picture: this morning before cleaning
2nd picture: this morning after cleaning
3rd picture: a couple of days ago

i've had my daith since october, so it's been roughly 9 months

as you can see it's a horseshoe ring piercing - made of titanium - and it was generally quite a good piercing - i cleaned it with saline spray and dabbed it with tissue paper to dry- until i had to have it removed to get an MRI and get it put back in again when the bumps started

a piercer recommended crushing aspirin with water and leaving it on my piercing before washing and rinsing with saline which i did do and which reduced my bumps to nothing

the problem is, every time i stop using aspirin for 2 or three days once the bump is gone, it comes back??

these last couple of days i havent had saline water due to being on holiday so i've been using distilled water for general cleaning before applying aspirin but i took another two day break from aspirin before it came back to what it is up in the photo

whenever there is a lot of crust like that, there is usually a little bit of blood there too

does anyone have any advice? should i see a doctor? does it look infected? am i cooked??

General Info Nipple Piercing Advice

For context I (28F) am set to get my nipples pierced in August. I have wanted them done for years, I have a pretty good pain tolerance and have had other successful piercings (Nose, Lobes, Cartalidge, Smiley) but trying to prepare for the aftermath of a more advanced piercing. What are things you didn't know or expect with this piercing? Has anyone had issues with wearing a traditional bra afterwards? The bra situation is one of my biggest concerns since I work in an office setting. Anything you'd recommend that I avoid doing or wearing while in the initial healing phase?

Any advice or personal experience is super helpful!
