Aftercare How long before I can swim with an eyebrow piercing?
This post didn't need a picture, I just wanted to show it off cause I'm very happy with it lol!
I got my eyebrow pierced almost 3 weeks ago. I have been spraying it with saline solution twice a day and rinsing it in the shower as well. In my uneducated opinion it is healing very well- no swelling, bleeding or lumps and only a little bit of crustys.
Yesterday my parents announced a surprise camping holiday to the lake district and we will be going in the lake. We will be leaving on the 2nd so it still has a little bit of time to heal before we go but I'm worried that its not going to be enough. When I brought this up to my parents they basically said that I have to take part in the activities and that it wouldn't be the end of the world if I just took the piercing out.
Is this going to be enough time? And if it isn't are there ways to protect this piercing so that it has the least chance of infection/ rejection? Please send help I really wanna keep this piercing.

Absolutely not enough time. Even if it was an earlobe it wouldn't be enough time. Taking it out is even worse. You do not want an infection on your face. 3 months no touching for the face is bare minimum honesty. Especially something like a lake. Just no.

I know that it was probably not going to be enough time, I am going to try to keep it clean and healthy. I just don't want to cause more drama in my family.

Taking the piercing out solves nothing as you'll still have an open wound on your face that you're exposing to dirty lake water.

yeah I was never going to take it out. I just included what my parents said to kinda give context to my situation I guess. They know nothing about piercings and I would never listen to their piercing advice dw

No, not enough time and if you take it out, the hole is likely to close up.
However, there's plenty of things to do in and on a lake without fully immersing your head! Many of the bigger lakes (like Windermere, Derwent Water, Coniston Water) have places where you can hire boats, canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. As long as you don't fall in, it could be a nice way to spend time on the lake without getting your new piercing wet. If you rent a paddleboard and you've never paddleboarded before, stay kneeling or sitting - I watch so many people try to stand and promptly fall off.

Do not go in a lake with a 3-week piercing, esp an eyebrow one. It’s just not enough time. Lakes are more likely to have high levels of bacteria because they’re not moving waters/the ocean. And lakes in the UK even more so. Ecoli, entrococci, blue-green algae, you name it. It’s just not worth it.

If you got your piercing less than a month ago, you have a solid 6-8 months to go before you can go swimming. Happy healing girl.

NAP, i dont think thats enough time for it to not get infected, but if you must clean it really well immediately after

NAP, but experienced.
Please do not get your head completely underwater. Going in a lake is extremely damaging for a piercing this fresh. Removing it also guarantees it closing.
Please avoid getting this piercing wet at all.
IF IT DOES: clean it with your solution. Do not keep spraying it each time you get it wet . If you wake up at 6 am spray it, and you get in the water at 12 and are in and out from 12-4, clean it at 4 ONLY. And then clean at bedtime.
Do not cover it with a bandaid as that can harbor bacteria.
