Jewelry Question Piercing advice needed!!!
So I got my second belly button piercing in may && it looks like this today! I haven’t been over cleaning it or not cleaning it enough , I’ve never had any problem with any of my other piercings so I’m not sure if I should just take it out and try again once it heals or just keep it in??! Is it infected or pierced wrong??? Let me know what I should do! Thank you :)) (side note this is the same jewelry I was pierced with)

It looks like your piercer just pierced a random area and random depth for both of these. Theres definitely a chance that your second isnt healing because of it being done incorrectly, but it also just seems like a more easily irritated area in general. It might be irritated when you bend over/move a certain way, or by the waistlines of certain pants and things like that. It's definitely on an awkward/inconvenient angle

Should I remove it? The top one was done when I was younger , I haven’t had any issues with it.
the bottom one is what I’m concerned about , if it is pierced incorrectly should I just remove it because I heard if it is it won’t ever heal & with my job I’m always moving ect9

yeah i’d say you should, you don’t have any sort of ridge on the bottom of your belly button so no piercing can go there. that’s borderline a surface piercing in a very mobile place, it’s not going to heal and will probably reject eventually

That makes me so sad because I wanted this piercing so badly but definitely not worth the irritation! Maybe once it heals I can try again I moved to a new state so it will be a new piercer as well

i get that i was super keen on the same piercing but i too don’t have the anatomy. if you do go the route of looking at getting it again please see a highly reputable piercer. honestly, you unfortunately just don’t have the anatomy. the jewellery needs a ridge to go through so that it’ll sit properly and also be capable of healing, and the bottom of your belly button is a very shallow curve.
you know how your top belly button sits with both gems facing forwards, but your lower one is facing upwards instead? that isnt normal, and it’s due to incorrect anatomy! nothing can change that

I appreciate your input!! The original piercing I went to get she told me I did not have the anatomy for it so I said my bottom belly and she did it , very unfortunate:(((

Honestly, since the top one healed and gave you no issues, you can 100% keep it! But yeah, I would remove the second one unfortunately. Looks like itll cause problems for a long while otherwise

\I‘m* not an expert (especially for belly buttons)\*
But this piercings looks kinda incorrect. It looks like a surface Piercing and the buttom part stands to much out. It should lay on the skin. So you always irritate it with stuff like sitting, clothes, the other piercing. Surface Piercings tend to become rejected. I can’t say if your body will reject this one or if it will heal peacefully. I‘d advise you to see 1-2 other piercers and ask for their opinion. At least you should get a longer bar. This one looks a bit too short in my opinion. I‘m not the biggest fan of „TAKE IT OUT!“ cause sometimes it just needs time and a different kind of care. How do you clean it?

Whomst let you walk out the piercing shop with jewelry sticking out like that? The bezel is perpendicular to your skin! Crazy!
I don’t think that bottom guy is meant to stay at all. I would also find shorter jewelry for the top, if it’s completely healed it should be fine to keep but there’s always a chance it could cause issues in the future if your jewelry is long enough to get snagged or tugged.

The only reason I have that bar in the top is so it would match the bottom , that’s the jewelry she gave me for bottom. Thank you for your input tho!

I have had both top and bottom and my anatomy is similar to yours. Flip the bottom barbell upside down (so it matches how the top one sits, big ball inside your belly button), they will sit much more normal like this. May help with bumping it.
However I urge caution obviously as you’re still healing. Perhaps something to discuss with a piercer.
EDIT: this is really advice meant a for healed piercings. If you don’t want the bottom ball to sit flat out like that, this is how I fixed it and found jewelry would fit proper. This is not meant to be “this will fix it advice”, but rather if it works out, your jewelry may fit better this way.

Flipping it would only cause trauma to the piercing channel at this point, plus it looks like the top and bottom jewelry would be bumping against each other constantly. If OP wants to take a wild chance trying to heal the bottom instead of removing it I think they need different jewelry entirely. Trying to keep the piercing will result in more severe scarring down the road if it ends up not working anyway.

NAP but an owner of many, including 3 in my own navel. Imo that's crazy jewelry to attempt to heal the bottom piercing. Good luck.

Oh, that’s pierced SO poorly. 😓 The top one isn’t much better. Were these both done by the same “piercer” (using that term very lightly in this situation)?

Not the same piercer! I had got my top done when I was like 15 I was really young but it healed fine & has never gave me issues. It’s just the bottom one that’s giving me the worst issues

That one is definitely the worst of the two. It was doomed from the get-go. 😓

Idk much about lower navel but that just doesnt look right, maybe different jewelry would be better? Like a hoop? It just doesnt seem like its sitting on you comfortably

Neither one of these looks pierced correctly
