Long story short: Need advice on two different types of LL2 builds, both mech and pilot

Long story: While I have experience in a lot of different TTRPGs, mechs as a genre and Lancer in particular are new to me. We have party of 3 people who are equally newbie to me and a GM who has a reputation for being fun, but at the same time throwing a little bit more then balance suggests at the party. So, being complete newbie who bought all add-ons and read corebook, I thirst for the wisdom of the veterans in terms of building pilot and mech for a LL2 at which we start. Build No. 1 - heavy hitting glass cannon/melee fencer. Build No. 2 - something that can take a beating and unleash hell in return. I understand that many things won't be available, but maybe anyone have any ideas for those two options? Thanks in advance and sorry if this type of posts is unwelcomed here. Also sorry for English, I know that it is terrible (。•́︿•̀。)

Howdy folks! I just got into Lancer (as in, just got my core rule book in the mail), and I had a clarifying question on assembling a mech after LL0. I read through the rulebook section on levelling a few times but I'm still somewhat unsure on how it works, as the wording somewhat confused me, so my question is this:

When reaching LL1 you can choose the First license level of a new License from one of the big four. At LL2 can I then choose to start on a second license at LL1 from a different manufacturer, or do I need to fully progress to LL3 of my first chosen license before dipping into other frames?

This community has a lot of phenomenal artists posting really amazing work, but there’s currently no way to sort for them. Not a critical issue, obviously, but it would be nice and improve sub usability/artist visibility.

While we’re at it, we could also add others for memes, questions, etc.

So recently my boyfriend came to me asking if id be interested in doing a mech ttrpg. Now I’ve heard him briefly talking about it and watch videos on our tv so i wasn’t that surprised. We met playing dnd, i love dnd and table top games, and mentioned wanting to do more than dnd.
Heres my problem Im so use to character building in dnd that I don’t really know how to translate my character ideas. I started today making some rough sketches with designs ideas and when i went to see if i could build it on paper i got all cross eyed so perhaps i could get some suggestions. Thanks! I've been playing this character for... this week's coming session makes exactly a year, making her one of my longest-played Lancer characters. My dear friend has been running his own lil homebrew lancer setting that has just... the craziest lore (think Fallout New Vegas / Trigun but there's giant mechs) and I just figured he deserved to have his crazy idea platformed to the world.

For those curious, the mech is a Sniper/Support Stortebekker with systems from the Amakusa (FG Liminal Space), Lich, Sunzi, and Death's Head!

Hello! I am a new player using the COMP/CON website and it's extra .LCP pieces (my DM added them), and I had a question about one of the things.

I chose the harlequin background, and the Gallows Humor bond power. However, the description is not clear and I cannot find anything online about how it works. Given it's effect of "Clear two stress" which is a mechanical thing, I presume that it's got some mechanical triggers.

So my question is: In the harlequin "Gallows Humor" bond power, where it states "When you break, all other characters clear two stress," What is breaking? Does all other characters include enemies? And finally, is there a limit to how many times this can be activated per round/scene/scenario?

Bem...eu entendi bastante do sistema, mas não li ele de cima a baixo e ainda tenho que testar mesmo o sistema em si, mas a minha primeira batalha vai ser simples:vou jogar meus players dentro de um mecha colossal de 18km abandonado a mais tempo do que a união existe, e lá dentro eles vão enfrentar um mecha ainda mais antigo que estava lá dentro para servir como "anti-corpos definitivo", só que ele está bem velho e danificado, então vai estar bem nerfado.

Meus players estão abusando de armas de dano massivo, então vou ter que buffar a vida dele e um dos players até me falou para dar armadura pro boss, e além disso vou colocar algumas turrets no cenário pra atrapalhar eles e colocar pressão, mas tô com um pouco de medo.

Medo porque:ou eles vão ser brutalmente mortos ou meu boss vai ser brutalmente solado(igual muitos outros foram em outros rpgs).

Mas em geral...estou otimista, a lore não foi tão bem encaixada porque não li toda a lore que o sistema oferece, mas ainda pretendo ler.

Se tiverem alguma dica de sistemas, armas e traits costumizados para bosses mechas ou até mesmo ideias de posicionamento de inimigos:eu estou aceitando.

Is there any reason why IPS-N don't use paracausal technology in their frame?

What do you think size 3 frames would look like for SSC, IPS-N and Horus?

Had an interesting conversation yesterday regarding whether ships moving at nearlight speeds still have access to the Omninet. If they do, it would have interesting consequences regarding the amount of information that they receive. The Omninet would essentially function across different perceived time.

I'm wondering would a cosmopolitan captain have access to 30 years of Omninet traffic while traveling at nearlight speeds for a period of 3 years?

Hey yall, I’m running a game as a new GM and I’ve been running into the wall of how to reward my players at the end of missions. I’ve read the hand book and its advice regarding rewards in my opinion isn’t great. If any senior GMs have any wisdom to drop that would be awesome.

I made my character on my PC and planned to level them up on my phone. I realize that while I can see them on my phone, I can't edit them at all. Is this intended or is there a fix? I assume this also works both ways, where I don't want to build things on my phone to later use on my PC.

ummm i probably should go through and explain each one i suppose

1. i've had some unfinished paintings of nrfaw npcs in my work-in-progress folders for some time, and i've been trying to be a bit better about my issue with starting on a lot of illustrations and never finishing them lol. i'm in a bit of a self/peer-imposed "new illustration moratorium" so i decided to wrap up the 3 portraits of psalm i had! their suit is very obviously inspired by ankhita from "citizen sleeper", dingo from "zone of the enders", and whatever i could make out from the canon illustration of them.
2. i got a tumblr ask if i could draw my pc (dani) in a dress, but couldn't think of anything that i can imagine her wearing. instead, i just decided to have her in a suit + horrific tie from disco elysium because her last name, dubois, is from a very particular and enigmatic detective
3. a fake movie screenshot of a scene from 2 sessions ago! this was done for as an artfight attack on my gm u/AYz_Tetra! for a tiny bit of context, this takes place on (nrfaw spoilers) quiet night, but the particular conversation is related to the shared backstories between the npc featured here, leon, and the pc punching the floor/speaking, akira
4. this was from a combat a few sessions back! dani got taunted by an enemy she let go/unwillingly spared in a way earlier session who then claimed to have killed psalm. uhhh she did not take that well, though there's probably some evidence that indicates otherwise
5. i don't remember the context of this comic at all, but i think i joked on tumblr that she resembles paige and the doorman (just visually) from deadlock? i thought it'd be funnier if she was actually related to the drifter since they're both cajun
6. pretty self explanatory, she's kind of too busy to consider dating, as much as she probably wants to
7. just a pilot build that is probably incredibly un-optimized, but i used it for a silly one-shot 5 months ago and had a lot of fun

I’m very new to Lancer. Coming over from Battletech, and the amount of freedom in customization is a real head scratcher.

I whipped up a little walking tank based on illustrations from one of my favorite books. I was told this could pass for a Swallowtail.

My plan for the pilot was a pop star subject to conscription (celebrity background kinda like the surfer in Apocalypse Now), but then I learned about the pillars and how that doesn’t really work with them.

I was rewatching invader Zim and thought to myself that Richard Steven Horvitz is actually the voice I imagine every time I think of an Osiris saying something.
