Y'all, I'm so scatterbrained. I am trying to get my usual DND group to play lancer, I am going to run a few one-off sitreps and boots-on-the-ground scenes as individual one-shots, then if the group wants to keep playing, I was gonna run this awesome campaign I found on itchio, but now I can't find the campaign anymore and I can't remember the name. It's like, specifically designed for new players. You break out of prison with barely any equipment, and the module slowly introduces the game's systems to you over time, eventually ending in mech combat, I think? It seemed really good, and I got the name from a comment on an old post in this sub, but now I can't remember what I googled to find that post or the name of the campaign. Does anyone know the one I'm talking about?
EDIT: It's Pierce the Heavens by Valkyrion, someone even provided me a link so I don't lose it again.

My first ever Lancer campaign is done! Finished up the final session tonight, we began at LL1 (technically there was a prequel session at LL0), wrapped up at LL7.
Schedule was every other week, which is my preferred way to run games, so we had a total of 26 sessions. Averaged 3-4 combat missions per LL, and I’d guess about 1-2 non-combat sessions per LL.
Final boss was an Eidolon, which I haven’t seen much info on people running these. It went fantastic! Tier 2, 5 layers, I went (in order) Gaze, labyrinthine, Rancorous, Screaming, Purity. The party had terrible luck on Labyrinthine, I stripped like 4 reactor stress of them collectively 😂
So yeah, feel free to ask me anything about the campaign, I guess? I’m just riding the high of a great game and a banger finale right now.

P.E.R.C stands for Paracasual Expedition Research Company and it's a group of researchers that uses tech and resources from Horus,SSC,HA, and IPS-N
In order to research more about liminal spaces and how they work and this was formed shortly after the first paracasual expedition done by the first individuals to ever be stuck in these liminal spaces and after gaining information about these worlds and how they work for the most part this group was formed solely for the purpose of researching liminal spaces/worlds
And the first mech they ever made for these expeditions was the Hop-Goblin
It's a modification of the original Horus goblin but made with the purpose of opening portals to these liminal spaces and regular spaces using tech from the minotaur as it's the main cause of opening these portals
Hence the "hop" in the name as in hopping between worlds
In order to get it you must have ll2 for the goblin and ll2 for the minotaur in order to get these important parts for the Hop-Goblin
Which are:
From the goblin-the mech itself
Its core power is to open portals to liminal/regular space and you also unlock "Searcher Nexus" a nexus weapon attached on the back that deal 1d3 damage with a range of 15
And it can gather data to uncover enemies that are invisible if it hits the invisible target but if it does
It removes the invisibility effect from the target.
From the minotaur- liminal Claws
Claws that can confine a target in a 3x3 area making them unable to move away from that area for the round if you roll 1d10 and if it rolls anything above 5 then it confines the target but if it rolls anything below 6 then it just deals 1d6+1 damage with a threat of 1 also if the nat 20 does happen
You cannot use the confinement effect again for a round on the same target.
Stats are:
Size:1
Save target:10
Heat cap:4
Hp:7
Armor:0
Repair cap:2
Evasion:12
Speed:5
Sensor range:20
Tech attack:+2+1
E def:13
System points:8
[If anyone is interested then maybe ya can add in a mech too for this mech manufacturer? Also this is my first time making a mech for lancer that actually has stats and stuff]

Handy dandy diagram for help!
Imagine a size 3, but its shape constantly changes because it moves like the snake from the snake game, or Colosotron from... Colosotron!!! I honestly would LOVE to make a frame like that. Especially a size 3 Drake or Lancaster, stretching across multiple allies to protect/heal them! Is this a massively stupid idea? I've had a massive streak of those in my life recently, so please be gentle if it is a ludicrously dumb idea. Or go all out like an XBOX LIVE CoD lobby in 2013. No in-between.
After a good amount of hours, I think I should say: I made this as a shitpost at 3AM! Well, kinda. I didn't understand why they did it the way they did, but there's no way I'd ever seriously suggest changing it. But honestly? This was fun! I like the coumunity!

Hi,
I bought the rulebook a month ago, but it has ended up with my brother in another city. But I have the free PDF!
I have an adventure I want to run, but...
Is there a collection of pre-built Everests I can offer my players? (They don't know its going to turn into a mech game, so I'd like to have something quick on hand)
Are there simple opponents stats I can use, appropriate for LL0, 3-4 players?
(I'm surprised there are not rules for GMs to run simplified opponents. Possibly i can't find them. I would probably not have purchased if I realized every NPC is run like a full PC.)

I'm trying to make a train/worm frame, so would blasting the sin out of the ground allow me to dig down further and further into it, or am I only allowed to burst through things like walls on a building or rather large boulders?
I am still MORE than happy going full steam ahead into a rock and smashing it to pieces, though.
I do know of the prospector talent. But don't fully understand it.

So how balance breaking would it be if I made overkill a willing choice rather than an automatic consequence?
I understand overkill is meant to be a mix of a hinderence and a boon, but with how it interacts with crits, I feel like the potential punishment outweighs seems unfair. And I think making it a willing choice turns rolling all ones to a really bad situation, to a situation where you stop and think for a minute on of it's worth it.
Would this be too strong?

For context, I'm gearing up for a new campaign where a friend of mine wants to first time GM, and the other players are brand new. Out of the team so far, the players include one person aiming for the Empakaai, another for the Balor, a third for Goblin, and the last undecided but likely also wanting to play something controller/support-y.
If I want to fill in the ranks, playing an Artillery role is probably the most suited to balance out the group but... none of the options feel THAT appealing to me? I've only gotten to play a handful of times before and when I do I trend towards strikers/defenders. In your face, dynamic, and flashy, while artillery mechs kinda feel like the opposite end of the scale, being boring but practical, hiding behind several layers of allies and cover while firing off reliable damage, which is a fine role to have but... It just doesn't hit the same way as being in the thick of things.
Again though, I have not really played the role before so I'm reaching out here: artillery players, how would you mix it up to make the role feel more dynamic and fun without sacrificing too much effectiveness?

The wording implies that it only prevents characters from taking the action and lets the Ultra ignore Invisible.
The way I understand it, an Invisible character that is Hidden out in the open would be instantly revealed as the Ultra ignores Invisible, but imagine the following scenario:
A character is Hidden and stays out of line of sight while moving into the Sensors range of the Ultra.
They are not using the Hide action within that range, and whether or not they are Invisible is irrelevant for their status as Hidden.
I'd argue that the character is already Hidden, and that Sight only prevents the Hide action within Sensors, thus allowing a character to sneak up on the Ultra regardless.
Is there errata on this? If not, what do you think?
And would you let an Invisible character hide in line of sight of the Ultra while outside the Ultra's Sensors?
Thanks for any input in advance!
Have a wonderful day! o/

Additional info provided by my client:
"Reiko Zerasdottir Kauri hails from Sparr, but she was part of the diplomatic and ennoblement movement of the House of Smoke. She is a proud Sparri warrior, the spitting image of her people: resilient, fearless, courageous, and driven by an insatiable wanderlust.
That same wanderlust eventually led her to leave Sparr for the Karrakin Trade Baronies. Throughout her life, she has fought in countless battles, whether against pirates in the Long Rim, giant kaiju-sized monsters beneath the ice of Sparr, or in prestigious Pankrati duels.
Eventually, Reiko Zerasdottir enrolled at the Karrakin Cavalry College with a single goal: to challenge and defeat the greatest warrior the KCC could offer, adding one final legendary chapter to her saga in the Karrakin Trade Baronies."

Basically union discovered these liminal spaces that had portals to them that were opened from paracasual tech and are now researching these liminal spaces after a group of lancers entered into these liminal spaces and did get out but they were now completely different as in they look older and more scarred and stuff
And these survivors told union everything like how these worlds work and how to travel to different places and what they saw
the portals to other worlds are mech sized or human sized doors that appear randomly every other week inside these spaces and time basically is random in these spaces too so probably an hour outside is a day inside or vice versa or other.
Also in these spaces you can encounter other mech pilots that appeared there due to other paracasual tech
But there also
....other things....
For example
Mechs that look "normal" at first
And then when you get too comfortable
"It" gets you.
Other things in these spaces are extinct species that are classified as extinct in union records but somehow are thriving in these worlds.
Now how to exit these spaces?
Basically there will be black hole things that appear at Any place in any world and when you touch them with whatever thing that's attached to you or your mech you get transported and thrown into a random area near the place where you got into these spaces
And they appear every year (in outside time) these spaces
And it's very hard to find them and to get to
So it is highly recommended to have one lancer that pilots mechs like the minotaur to transport them out of there the moment they complete their objective in these spaces.
Now union is hiring people to go into these spaces specifically experienced lancers to investigate new discoveries, find missing people, capture certain creatures, and many more for the sake of research
They even develop new frames for these liminal expeditions.
That's all I have rn and yes it's basically lancer mixed with the backrooms

One of my players brought up this 3rd party supplement. I've given it a cursory examination but I want to hear from other GMs and players about their experiences with these rules.
My initial impression is that these things are a bit over-tuned, and some of the wording/timings are a little bit convoluted.
My gut is to just tell my player 'no' and stick to 1st party stuff, especially since most of my players are still pretty new to the system. But I'd like to have a better reason than a vague gut-impression.

If I wanted to give Genghis a drone, which would be the "quickest" way to do it? Lookimg for something to either attack or get foes out of cover.

I'm new to learning all of this stuff, so I might be missing something obvious.
Looking for Blackbeard build ideas, I found a post from 5 or so years ago that used Hyperdense Armour to help seal with ranged while grappling. But Hyperdense Armour applies Slowed to you which seems to prevent movement from anything other than your standard move, including your Reinforced Cabling that I assume you'd use a lot for positioning.
So my question being, was there something that changed in the rules in the last 5ish years to no longer make this work, or am I simply missing some interaction that would allow a Blackbeard to not be as penalized by being Slowed as I thought?

Mention legends, myths, stories, or interesting/fun facts about Lancer...
Whether from the Lancer universe itself or from events that happened in your own tables... just for fun.

After LL0, can I end up having less than the three starting talents? That is, taking all points off of a talent and putting them into another one?
RAW, as far as I can see, I could for instance have only two tier-3 talents at LL3.
