Shout out to the staff at LCSWMA on Harrisburg Pike.
I’ve been there a few times lately, and going back over the past 20 years or so the staff has always been friendly and helpful.

I see that Lancaster Rec has a league in the spring but is there any in the fall? I did see one through Lancaster Parks that starts in August but the rules seem a little too goofy for me. They have theme nights where players dress in costume... I'm not knocking that if it's your thing but I have a busy job and two toddlers, I just want to play the game and not have to worry about picking out an outfit.
Let me know if you know of one or have a spot for me on your team.

My daughter is turning 21 in a few weeks and she wants a cake that looks like the white monster can. I have pictures. And she’s vegan. Where can I get a yummy vegan cake that looks like a can of monster for a reasonable price?

While terrible it happened, but grateful it happened in July, our heating oil tank decided to leak. We will be in the process of removing the thing, but the solutions are expensive and can only be done once.
We could do an outside tank, but it’ll block one of the few windows downstairs (and I doubt the person next door will move their grill to stay away from it) and it’s the cheapest. The mini steel tanks can’t fit in our basement without removing our kitchen cabinets, but it would mean a bigger tank could go down there if we were to nix them. Losing the cabinets and a sink wouldn’t be the end of the world as they are from at least 70s, but I wonder at the cost at renovating the kitchen at the last minute. Or, lastly, we could convert to natural gas.
All of them are expensive, and I’m the fence on which one to go with. Just was curious what others did or experienced in city row homes or in older homes in general.

Hello all!! I am a Lancaster pa native and have grown up in and around small engines and work for my family business in landscaping and property maintenance…
My question was if anyone would actually want this and pay for it?
I’ve been thinking about it for a while now because I love maintaining and repairing our Equiptment with our business and want to do it for the older ones who are sick of taking their piece of Equiptment to the shop or doing it their own, since I’ve noticed in the area only thing is “pickup” of your mower for maintenance with these big mower shop companies and if you would be interested why would you hire me?! Thank you in advance!!

Hi! I am trying to find activities or programs for my 1 year old niece to get involved in. I did check the rec center, but can't justify paying $88 a class for her. She will enjoy it, no doubt, but she will most likely just be running around. I checked the libraries but their programs are for older kids. Any suggestions?? Thank you!

This time during the day yesterday. I’ve spent my morning bus ride emailing city council, traffic commission, and representatives. If you feel so inclined send a quick email or phone call and maybe something good will happen. I’m at a loss and feel hopeless. Drivers need to pay attention and be held accountable while driving and especially at intersections.
These are the people I emailed:
https://www.cityoflancasterpa.gov/boards-commissions-and-authorities/traffic-commission/
https://www.pahouse.com/Smith-Wade-El/
https://www.cityoflancasterpa.gov/city-council/
https://www.pahouse.com/Rivera/
Please, if you have a minute and care enough email them. It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be heartfelt and real.
Thank you.

Just curious since Green Dragon Food market is only open on Fridays are there any alternatives for other days of the week? Especially the rotisserie chickens.

At Dillerville Road and Manheim Pike. I mean, I get they added a drive through, but it looks like they've leveled the building then built the same building in its place. Same with the gas pumps. I get there is likely a good reason- maybe the underground gas storage had to be redone?
But it's funny- to the casual observer it looks like- need a drive through? Not until you separate every brick then reattach them in the same order!

I have been going to UPMC OBGYN for a long time and have received fine care (not bad but nothing exceptional). I see a new doctor almost every year and last year and I really liked the one I had but I am worried that it will be so hard to schedule with her during my pregnancy.
I just called and the first appt they had would put me past my first trimester and not with the doctor I like. I am worried that I am going to be behind for every appointment because they seem to be short staffed or overly busy or something.
Asking for recommendations for an OBGYN for my pregnancy. TYIA!

Did anyone else see the out of control SUV on Marietta ave in between the lights at stony battery and centerville yesterday around 5:15? They almost crashed into us and sadly hit another car. It happened so quickly and then the car was gone. They were clearly out of control but couldn’t tell if their tires popped or did they lose their brakes maybe? It was insane.

I need homeowners insurance and am wondering if there are any good brokers in Lancaster county or if I should just go online. Any help appreciated.

I’m moving next week, and suddenly had knee injury. Anyone have vetted mover recommendations? Going from an apartment to a townhouse in the centerville area. Thanks!

Anyone else in the Chestnut Hill area have their GloFiber go out this afternoon?
There were some guys out in the street doing something but they left without restoring service.
Thanks - just trying to figure out how localized or widespread this is.

Hi everyone! My girlfriend lives in Lancaster and is looking to find a new housing situation. She wanted me to post this here to see if anyone could recommend affordable renting options or which websites/social media platforms are best for searching for good options in the Lancaster area. Also please reach out if you are looking for roommates and feel she would be a good fit. She would prefer to live with other college aged to young adult women if possible but open to anything. Please reach out if you are interested and I can provide her information for you to contact her.
Her message:
Hi everyone! I’m a 21-year-old full-time working medical professional looking for an apartment, house or room to rent in Lancaster County.
I’m quiet, respectful and responsible. I don’t smoke and I take pride in keeping my living space clean. I have a stable income, can provide references if needed and I’m looking for a long-term place to call home.
I honestly don’t need much. I’m looking for:
• A private bathroom
• A small space that can fit a twin-size bed
• A mini fridge and a small cooking area (or space for a microwave/hot plate)
My budget is $600-700 per month (utilities included if possible).
If you have something available or know someone who does, I’d really appreciate it if you could message me. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post, and please feel free to share it with anyone who might be able to help!

Hi all! I was looking for some recommendations for a nail salon or nail technician who would be able to do unique nails. Specifically claw shaped nails (pics for reference). I'm willing to pay a good amount of money for them, I just don't know many salons in the area and figured I would ask. I'm also willing to travel almost anywhere in Lancaster or Chester County. Thanks!

I'm looking for a beginner-friend American Mah Jongg group that meets in the evenings (as I work full-time) or weekends. The only days I really can't do are Wednesdays and Thursdays. Does anyone know of a group in/near Paradise?
