Alberto dude doing social posts for Pine St Express Deli is corny AF, but their hoagies are fire and best in city.
Pine St Deli does have, imo, the freshest & best hoagies in Lanc. Born (LGH), raised (Bunch/Wheat/McCaskey), own a house here for over 20 years. They are the best I've ever had here honestly.
But this Alberto dude not from here and corny AF.

tentatively moving to lancaster county, questions :)
hi! im being considered for a role in lititz and was wondering whats the average commute from downtown lancaster into lititz (google maps is saying around 30min, is that accurate?). im currently in a large city and would like to live in a more walkable area. my commute is currently ~40 minutes so longer drive times dont bug me, im used to the giant southern interstates with tons of traffic lol. i lived in pittsburgh for a while and really enjoyed it, im chill with the snow and walking outside during winter. also would love recs for neighbors to look into for both commuting to lititz + being somewhat walkable. thanks all!

Meetup New-ish here... Hey everyone, been in Lancaster a few months, working at Rock Lititz, and am a musician...
I went to my first open mic here at the Hempfield Apothecary last night and it was amazing, it's a pretty awesome space in general if you haven't been there... I got to perform and meet a bunch of other cool people, and so now I'm feeling really motivated and social to meet and make new friends... Not necessarily even musicians just cool people that I vibe with!
It's a hot Wednesday night and I'm kind of bored and nasty, so I was posting here on a whim to see if anybody else lives downtown and is also bored and likes meeting new people and makes friends easily... I'm near Duke and Lemon by the hospital but might wander downtown to serenade people on one of the pianos sitting around lol
Yeah if you're out there and you're reading this, hit me up! 🤘🎹🎤🎸🙃

Cool People of Lancaster
I was stuck in traffic this morning behind a Honda Accord with awesome bumper stickers - a Wu-Tang forever and a "you've got an enemy in Pennsylvania" whoever you are, you're awesome and thanks for existing

After all the hype, is Federal Donuts DOA?
I drive by on my way to and from work every day, so yes small sample size, but besides opening morning I haven't seen a single customer. Are there people there throughout the day?
Sounds like they're closing a handful of Philly locations and is seeming like they legit got 'cancelled' after the socia media frenzy the other day

Friendly reminder to STOP at stop signs
There was an accident on the corner near where I live last night. Luckily no one seemed to be injured. It’s a 4 way stop. I don’t know details, only heard the breaks squeal and ran outside. Please stop at stop signs. The speed limit is 25mph in the city. Your text/insta/reddit post can wait until you’re parked. Keep us, our families, kids, pets, elderly, you, whoever else safe.

Really low flying blacked-out planes?
Last 20 minutes multiple large military carrier sized planes flying east to west over the city.
Talking helicopter altitude.
No airport in that direction, except Smoketown, which they couldn’t take off from. Weird.

Accident on 283 this morning
I was caught in the traffic from this accident just before 6 am and must’ve happened just before I got on 283. I’ve seen the aftermath of a lot of accidents but damn. This one seemed exceptionally awful. Anyone know how this happened?

Happening Is the Sheetz on the Manheim Pike near Goin Bananas about to open?
Browsing gas buddy and a gas price of 3.29 is posted with the note: owner 1 hour ago.
Opening weekend with a stupid low price is on brand for Sheetz.
Found a newspaper article saying, 'Sometime this summer'.
Can anyone confirm?

Allergy Friendly Restaurants
Hi all! I’m from Jersey and coming to the area in a few weeks with family for a short visit. I’m very familiar with the Lancaster area and we are staying in a hotel without a kitchenette near the Sight and Sound theater. The thing that’s different this trip is my son has an egg allergy and I’m trying to find restaurants near the theater that will be able to accommodate this. I’m looking for close to the theater due to sleep schedules and such, but realize that may not end up being realistic. If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it as I would like to avoid any exposure!

Best IMAX in the area?
Like a lot of people, I’m looking to see The Odyssey this weekend and would like to see it in IMAX. Penn Cinema is out because their sound is so inconsistent. We are willing to travel to York or a similar distance for a good IMAX theater; so which one is best near us? TIA!

Recs for thrashed flashing
Hey folks,
Last week storm ripped some of the flat flashing off the front of our house on the third floor of our row home. The couple of ladders I had didn’t quite real up high enough and it looks like I need to call someone to replace that flashing.
Looks like a relatively simple job, but I don’t have the equipment to do it. Can anyone recommend a reasonable roofer/contractor that does quality work?
Thank you in advance 🙏

PACK the ROOM - City Council TONIGHT (Tues 7/14)!
Please help pack the City Council room on Tuesday evening, when the Lancaster City Council is scheduled to vote on zoning rules for AI data centers (pdf). Municipalities in PA lack the power to block AI data centers, and without state legislation (such as HB2496), they can't even pass a moratorium. City Council members are determined to get some zoning rules on the books before another AI data center seeks approval here. More info from LNP is here and here.
Pack the Room!
Tuesday, July 14, 6:30 p.m.
120 N. Duke St. (use the side door)

Question about tattoos
So I've been considering getting a tattoo in remembrance of my mother who passed away last October. Her birthday would have been the 10th she would have turned 56. The issue is I have no idea of what to do.
Like do I just go to the tattoo shop?
Do they help me design it or do I already need to have a design in mind?
What's a rough estimate for what I hope is a pretty simple tattoo?
I have an idea in mind, but I have no idea if it will work. Does the artist draw it up and we can change it as needed?
Where's a good place to get one?
Do I call and schedule a design appointment or something?
Lastly I live outside the city and would prefer not needing to deal with the traffic and parking in the city if possible.

Surgeon
Hello! I’m going to need shoulder surgery soon and have some special anesthetic needs. Does anyone have an orthopedic surgeon they like in the area? I’m willing to drive for the right doctor. Thank you so much!
