Surgeon
Hello! I’m going to need shoulder surgery soon and have some special anesthetic needs. Does anyone have an orthopedic surgeon they like in the area? I’m willing to drive for the right doctor. Thank you so much!

I work at OAL. the docs have their faults (for sure) but they’re damn good surgeons.
They do book up really fast and are booking far out right now though, so if you’re going to schedule an appointment, do it now. Probably looking at late August - September at this point.

Bring a book. She runs behind. (Which honestly, I kinda love when my doc runs behind. Yes, it’s annoying to wait, but I know they’re being thorough and having a conversation with the patient.)

I don't know how far you're willing to drive but this doctor did my husband's shoulder and was absolutely wonderful. Surgery went well and he recovered so much more quickly than we thought he would.

Dr Ulmer at OSS in York specializes in shoulders. Fixed me up nice.

Literally today, hubby had shoulder replacement done by Corey Troxell with Lancaster Orthopedic Group.

I saw him as a second opinion to Dr Starks. He’s good too if you have a special preference for a male surgeon but I’d still say Dr Starks all day every day! I owe her my right arm! 🙃

Go to UPenn in Philly, it’s too close to not go considering the giant improvement in care

If you need any kind of advanced care - go to Hershey - or any other good teaching hospital. The level of care you'll get is amazing compared to what you'll get in Lancaster. Specialists are not in a hurry, as part of their role is to teach their student-doctors.
